Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Anyone there know what kind of premade sandwiches
Screen Door General Store on the Boardwalk has in the refrigeratated section? Or if they do have premade sandwiches. My DH says they do. I know they have food in there & I think I remember seeing sushi, but I don't remember much else. Thanks.

I don't remember sandwiches or sushi. They have a lot less food in the fridge section than Beach Club Marketplace. No salads. No veggies.

If anyone is there now, can you tell me if they are selling Easter baskets and how much they're running approximately? We won't be there until Saturday so I just want to make sure they are still doing this.

I appreciate all of the feedback! I was surprised when our Magic Bands showed up yesterday in the mail! My husband booked the room with his email address on file, and he said he never got a tracking email. I'm relieved to know that we have them!

pbb&j - Thank you for the picture and all of the info on your room! This definitely helps me understand the layout of the hotel better!

We are actually staying at a timeshare for a week before we check in to BWI, and we have a rental car so we won't be using ME. I think I'm going to try the online check in since we will be checking in early that morning to drop off our stuff before heading to Epcot. It would be nice to get a text while at the park when our room is ready. Thank you everyone!

We are staying in a 1 BR Villa Boardwalk View in August. Can anyone tell me if I should make any additional room requests or does Boardwalk View pretty much take care of that? TIA!

The balcony railing on some of the 2nd floor villas is a solid panel instead of a rail with posts. So if you'd like to sit on your balcony and watch the boats and people go by, request a higher floor.

I have a BoardWalk view studio booked for next month  I wanted to make sure I get one of the open balconies so I went to the front desk at BoardWalk last December and asked how to word that type of request :yay: They told me to request "no solid balcony" :goodvibes Hope that helps, MinnieAnn Mouse :thumbsup2

Yes, that helps! I definitely want a balcony that is open! I will use this wording and hope for the best! Enjoy your vacation next month!

Yes, thanks! We always book BW view because we like to enjoy the view while we drink coffee, so now I know what to request!

Hey @WDWKOOK please add us to BWI CL from Nov 25-Dec 3! Can't wait to go back! :)

Congratulations on booking, @got15!

Please add me to the list - Sep 2-4 BWI. First time at BWI and first time for F&W! :woohoo:

How exciting, @Shellyb84 :)

Just saw this today. Thought I would post since there are so few pics of the grand villa. Enjoy!

Thank you for posting the video tour @Lisann!

Thank you for such an informative thread! We just switched our August reservations to BWI, and it will be our first time there! We are celebrating our 20th anniversary this year, and have gone to Disney annually since our honeymoon, but have never stayed here. We were booked at Contemporary Garden Wing because I do love the monorail resorts and we had never tried it, but I couldn't get past how blah it looked. Excited to try the BWI! We will be there 8/24-9/1.

Welcome to Crescent Lake, @momofmikey. I'll add your dates to the BoardWalk Bulletin.

Hi all! Still catching up after a little hiatus from the DIS-no particular reason, unless you count spending too much time on Facebook!
Anyhow, a few pages back I read about the elevators and the lobby and just need some clarification. We will be staying on the villas side and I will be renting an ECV. So, to go to the bus stop I take the elevator to the 2nd floor Lobby, but to go to the boardwalk/boats I take the elevator to the Lobby/2nd floor, get off and look for a different elevator to the ground floor? Or do I have this all wrong? Please help!
Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day!

Hi all! Excited to say we are doing our first BWI stay - just one night - May 1-2 - grabbed an AP rate and looking forward to enjoying F&G and seeing Wishes one last time. Thanks for the great thread!

I'll log your date and one night is better than no nights, @Ferrentinos:)

The......longest.......rehab........EVER!

Got an email in 2015, 2016 and now hearing they are still coming in 2017!

That is some paint job!

:rotfl:

I think this has become the norm now at all WDW Resorts.

Just got back from an awesome trip. I did a video of our 1 bedroom villa standard views we stayed in if anyone is interested.

Thanks for posting your villa/resort walk-through video, @GoofyMitchell :)

What, you couldn't make the bed first? :duck:

But, if she did, the big question would be, does she get tipped?

I have read and heard conflicting things . . . does the Boardwalk enjoy it's own bus to Animal Kingdom and Magic Kingdom, or is it shared bussing with the other Epcot area resorts? Does it depend on when you are there/crowd levels? We will be there in mid-August.

Dedicated bus to MK and shared for AK and DS.

Does the 2 bedroom (or 1 bedroom/studio) have a radio or anything I can plug an ipod into? I stayed at akl studio last Jan and don't remember if there is one or if maybe the bigger rooms have them?

If you want to listen to it, there was nothing in my 1-bedroom in late March. Unless you can plug it into the DVD player. Disney used to have iHome units, but got rid of them. Some people have had success requesting one from housekeeping, but I wouldn't count on it.

Thanks for the info! Not a necessity but just was curious.

No, clocks/radios were removed from all the DVC rooms a while back. You can request a clock from Housekeeping but I don't know whether it's a clock-radio or just an alarm clock. Sorry.
