Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

My son was just 5' last year and he fit fine on it. He is 5'6" this year and I'd think he might need to scrunch a bit to fit well.

I assume you unfolded the couch into a bed. If so, how crowded was the room with both the couch bed and murphy bed open?

Does the Boardwalk bus route still share with swan dolphin????

Yes, it did when we went to Disney Springs on a Tuesday morning last week. It did not when we went to MK on a Sunday morning. Not sure about AK because we skipped it this past trip.

By the way, while we waited for the Disney Springs bus on Tuesday morning, we saw 3 AK busses and 2 MK busses. That was a good thing because there were a lot of people at the waiting area going to those two parks.

Unless it has changed since last fall, the BWI/BWV have a dedicated MK bus--no sharing. The other buses, i.e., AK, DS were shared with Swan/Dolphin. The dedicated MK bus began in October of 2015--we were there when that service was instituted. :D I had to go back through the thread and search the information because I couldn't remember when the dedicated bus route to MK was begun.

Moved over to BWI from CSR for the second part of a split stay. Our room wasn't ready but by 1:00 we were hot and tired of Epcot so went to the front desk to see if we could take our chances and get something. We got room 2300 and are very pleased. I booked a standard view but I'm guessing this is a garden view. Real close to the quiet pool and lobby.

This is one of the many reasons we love BWI. Beautiful quite areas with space to relax next to all the action. Thanks reminds me of being there. Going again in November after Thanksgiving.

I was in Orlando for a business trip last weekend. The conference was at the Marriott Grande Lakes. Very nice, but not Disney. I had an afternoon to do what I wanted, so I spent the afternoon at DHS. Then walked over to BWI to get an Uber back to the Marriott. It felt so nice to walk through BW -- I had a sort of calm come over me. Got back home and booked for a quick Mother's Day trip. Got a nice AP rate and I'm so happy to have this to look forward to. I've never with less than 60 days to go! New experience.

Just saw this today. Thought I would post since there are so few pics of the grand villa. Enjoy!
Wow! I could live there! The laundry room is bigger than my one at home! Nice dreaming on a Friday afternoon. Thanks for sharing.

Me, too.

You know, even though I really like this villa, and honestly hope to stay there one day (soon), I just wish there were more Disney "touches" in the decor. I don't know if WDW realizes how much their fans love those!

you are right - looking for hidden Mickey's in the room is a favorite past time. the kids were a little sad that there was nothing Disney in the very cool pictures over the master bed. I also miss the kinda ugly tea cup lamp they had in the rooms before the refurb, do you know what I'm talking about? it looked like a stack of teacups for the lamp base? It wasn't even Disneyish but I loved it!

Yes! We have had the same feeling! We will occasionally walk over to the BWI when we visit Epcot. After so many trips to the BWI it does feel like "home".

Wonderful!

I have tried a number of times to book a short BWI visit but have never been able to find availability. So happy that you found an opening. wishing you a magical BWI visit!

Thank you for such an informative thread! We just switched our August reservations to BWI, and it will be our first time there! We are celebrating our 20th anniversary this year, and have gone to Disney annually since our honeymoon, but have never stayed here. We were booked at Contemporary Garden Wing because I do love the monorail resorts and we had never tried it, but I couldn't get past how blah it looked. Excited to try the BWI! We will be there 8/24-9/1.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? I thought I saw some recent photos of the food at the concierge lounge. I know last time we stayed, we grabbed breakfast here every day, and some cookies/tea in the evening. How are the offerings now? Still comparable, or have they toned it down.

Thanks!

I tried doing a search but I couldn't find the answer to my question. Can you rent a regular a bicycle (not a surrey bike) at the hotel? And also, does anyone know the cost? On Disney's site it says $18/person but is that daily, hourly, etc?

What kind of coffee maker is there in the rooms at BWI? I'm trying to plan for my trip, and would like to know if I should bring kcups or the kind that look like round teabags. Thank you.

Round pod type--no K cups.

I have never been able to find those round tea-bag type coffee pods, Can someone point me in the right direction? Trip in the fall, and depending on what discounts we can get, we hope to switch our resv to BWI!
