Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Thank you!! This is very helpful and I copied and pasted it into my file. :)
Hopefully, I will have some time to practice navigating and driving the scooter on our first day so that I will get the lay of the land quickly. I am so used to the WL where everything is so close!

It will be obvious when you get there, but to help a little more. When you get off at the second floor, you go right to the lobby. On the first floor, you go left to exit between the Luna Pool and the gym.

Hello BWI experts! We have 1 night booked following our cruise (4/3-4/4/17) in a standard view room. What should I request to avoid a parking lot view? Also, can anyone let me know what the current pool hours are? TIA!

I'm no expert as we've only had 2 BWI stays and 3 BWV stays, but I don't think any BWI rooms have a view of the parking lot. Going over the layout in my head, I can't think of any rooms that face the parking lot. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

I generally agree, but the section of BWI that includes the 5th floor has rooms overlooking the circle drive/entrance and, by extension, the parking areas. I've been assigned rooms on that side of the building in the past. My DH actually liked our 4th floor room overlooking the circle drive because we could see the DHS fireworks. It was surprisingly more quiet than I expected. DD and I have also been on the 5th floor on that wing looking out over the circle drive -- it's only noisy during the day and, even then, not really that bad.

Thank you @dansdad and @Sandi. Should I bother with any room requests with a standard view then?

For one night, I really wouldn't worry about it. I typically request the highest floor. You might also request a courtyard view. The rooms I would not like are those where the window is kind of blocked by the canopy over the walkway to the convention center and the bus stop. I'm not sure how to avoid those -- except for requesting a high floor.

When we were trying to get to Pop Century, we boated to Hollywood Studios then caught the bus to the hotel. We gave ourselves a lot of time to get there, so we weren't rushed. The route the PP mentioned included alternate transportation which can be fun too since the boats & monorail are near the MK entrance.

My guess, other than Uber, would be to take the bus to MK and then the boat or mono to the GF. I am curious to see what the experienced BWers will say!

Agreed, but you could always walk over to DHS and catch a bus to GF from there. You don't say whether it is a breakfast or other ADR--if it is later in the day you could walk through EPCOT and monorail to TTC and take the resort monorail from there to GF--2nd stop from TTC. If you enjoy walking, you could also walk through Polynesian and around to GF from TTC.

Whichever route you choose, just be sure to allow plenty of time.

You don't say what time. You have to keep an eye on your return time. If it's late enough, the busses may not be running. You can always Uber back.

Somebody asked what happens if you ship a package ups or fed ex, it goes to the convention center, and the convention center office is closed when you arrive. I asked at the front desk when i checked in. They said a manager will check to make sure the package arrived, and then will get it for you.

Question I did our online check in and requested upper floor I was going to put in for a second request and was wondering what is "near paddock"? This is our first time staying at the Boardwalk Villas so I'm clueless on this. Thanks.

Paddock is a pool at SSR. Sounds like there's a glitch in the system. I would call and make your requests over the phone.

It's Disney IT's idea of a joke? Yes, the Paddock is a standard section at Saratoga Springs Resort.

When I did on-line checking a few weeks ago, the only options for the Boardwalk Villas were: Ground floor, near elevator, near transportation, near lobby, upper floor and lower floor :thumbsup2 I just doubled checked and today there is the "near paddock" option which definitely applies to Saratoga Springs Resort only :confused3

Glitch--it is showing up on the online check-in options at BCV as well. Disney IT at its finest. :scared:
