Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Yes, unless of course it is a time change from standard to DST or vice versa. Apparently, Disney's IT doesn't spring forward or fall back--our FP window on Sunday didn't open until 8:00 a.m.

. I guess they forgot to spring forward. I also made a reservation for a tour, which weirdly enough Disney does not email you a confirmation of. The lady I spoke with gave me a conf #, but I was expecting an email too, like with fp & adrs. She also told me to go to the left once I get thru turnstiles to be let in early (MK, tour at 7:45am). I always thought it was to the right. But I might just be mixing the bathrooms up with it. Lol.

That's good to hear. Years ago at YC they didn't have a room with a day bed available so they gave us a roll-a-way. Having that in the room made it hard to get to balcony door and it made the room more crowded...having 5 people in a room is crowded enough.

I think I remember seeing that on another site too, I felt like they had copied the BC info for some reason. But for my family as a family of 5, the Boardwalk is the best choice in the Epcot area. We too ended up with one of those rooms at the BC with a cot. We ended up getting moved after one night but that one night was crowded!
No worries for you at the Boardwalk!

I'm sorry if this is posted already, but I can't seem to find the answer to this. Is there a quick service in the BWI? Or is it more directed to the actual Boardwalk such as the Boardwalk bakery? Thank you in advance!

We booked a standard view for 2 adults and 3 children. On another website there is a room finder and it says that Boardwalk only has 5 rooms total that have 2 queens and a day bed. Does that sound right?

As @Sandi pointed out, no that is not correct. If you were looking at the Touring Plans room finder tool, it is very inaccurate when it comes to room types, room amenities, etc. I don't know the exact number, but there are at least 90 Standard rooms with 2 queens and a daybed.

The QS restaurant for the resort is the Boardwalk Bakery. The Belle Vue lounge sets up for breakfast in the mornings, but it is pretty much just coffee, fruit, yogurt, and maybe a hot breakfast sandwich (not positive about that). There is also a pizza window on the boardwalk and the pool bar, Leaping Libations, has some snacks.

I know it doesn't seem right, but when I go to Touring plans room finder tool under room type there is only one selection that offers 2 queens and 1 day bed. So I select that. I leave all the other filters alone. After I hit "show matching rooms" at the top it says (5 rooms found). I don't think for a second that I was that lucky to get 1 of 5 rooms with a day bed. What am I doing wrong?

I just say your reply saying that the room finder is very inaccurate. I read it wrong the first time. Sorry. Thanks for the response

Well, I can tell you that neither of the rooms I have stayed in are shown in the Touring Plans search results, and they both had 2 queens and a daybed...I think MOST, if not all, of the 2 queen bed rooms have a daybed at Boardwalk, don't they????

I've noticed some rooms on touring plans with the wrong view too.

We got a room for 12/8 - 12/17. Super excited!!! I can't wait to be "home" for Christmas!!! I love WDW at Christmas time! :santa:

I'll get you logged, @Shellyred8 :)

Hi @WDWKOOK Thanks for all you do as always to manage the different threads!

I am thinking of making a breakfast reservation at Trattoria during our stay in November, but hey, I've been obsessed with Ariel & Prince Eric since I was a little girl so that couple is probably enough to tempt me, even if the menu isn't super enticing to me. We'll see when it comes to ADR time.

I'm late with a big thank-you for your comment, @lovingeire

I think it really helps to be primarily interested in the character interaction. It's the major focus and really what you're paying a premium for so enjoy those characters and don't fret about the menu.

How about a bump back to page 1 and a nice pic to get people with upcoming trips excited and in the mood for the view!

Nice bumpity-bump and photo, @sfbank. Here's one from September I took at sunset...

We are here now. This is my new favorite resort. DD age 4 loves the kiddie pool with the spraying elephant. We are in a BWV studio and I love the renovations. She enjoyed the Dumbo bed! The slide is still closed. The community hall pool is open. There is no painting going on near our balcony. We are third floor standard view. Let me know if anyone has questions!

Thanks for posting LIVE and I hope the rest of your stay was fabulous.

Hi all! My wife stayed at BWI last weekend for a 'girl's trip' to run the Princess Half. It was her first stay at BWI. She said she had a great time and that it was the perfect spot for a race weekend.

Her reservation was for a "Boardwalk View-Club Level" room but she was given a "Deluxe Room-Club Level" room, so a little pixie dust I guess with the larger room. Her room number was #3229.

Wanted to share a few photos from her trip, including lots of CL lounge pics too.

Enjoy!

Thank you so much, @GADisneyDad14 for posting your DW's photos. What a great upgrade! They seem to have continued with lounge improvements. Is that an omelette station and ice cream from next door?! Nice!

We stayed the night of Feb 14 - 15 in a studio (rented points). The room was clean but we felt a little cramped, but that may only be because we moved from the Poly Villas that morning. The studios there are so huge...

We got a village green view on floor 2, I think it was the third room on the right on that floor. We really liked the colour scheme of the room.

It was directly above a shop, under a roof. We were happy with the location, it was just a few steps from the lobby. I was afraid that it will be terribly loud at night because in the day all the talking from below was echoing under the roof. But it was very quiet at night.

All in all I was not overly impressed about the resort. It is very picturesque, clean and bright, yes, but I was just not overly happy to be there. I was a little sad about that because my expectations were different. It was just not my cup of tea.

But the location was exciting. We were on the Boardwalk in the evening and enjoyed the entertainment. The walk to EP and HS underlines the ideal location.

I would recommend the Boardwalk Villas to a friend, but I prefer to try another resort next time, maybe Yacht Club

@Liberator, it's always fun trying new resorts, but some just won't "feel right." It's still a valuable and fun fact-finding mission. It's good you only spent one night there since you weren't "feeling it" at BWV.

Just booked our trip June 28-July 5th BWI

Congratulations and I'll log your dates, @Cshel85.

WDWKook can you please mark my family down for June 28th through July 5th on the page for people coming and staying at BWI

thank you

Got it!

Moved over to BWI from CSR for the second part of a split stay. Our room wasn't ready but by 1:00 we were hot and tired of Epcot so went to the front desk to see if we could take our chances and get something. We got room 2300 and are very pleased. I booked a standard view but I'm guessing this is a garden view. Real close to the quiet pool and lobby.

BWI only offers Standard and Water Views. All views, including parking lot, canal, garden, pool, with the exception of a direct Crescent Lake view, are considered "Standard."

We got back last night.

We had room 4048 in BWV. The room was handicap accessible. I didn't like the bathroom (no lid on the toilet and no shelves in the shower). However the room location was great (just a hallway down from the elevator), and the view was excellent (we faced the main pool and could see the Tower of Terror). I really liked the room. Each evening, I'd sit on the balcony watching the boats travelling to and from Disney's Hollywood Studios. Every morning, I'd watch the CMs preparing the pool.

Thank you for posting photos, @patster734 :)

Just recently booked a stay in a one bedroom Villa for a week in June (15th-21st), and I'm so excited about this trip. This will be my third year in a row vacationing at WDW with my partner. The previous two trips we stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and Polynesian, respectively, so I'm interested to see what it's like staying in the Epcot area.

My family and I stayed at the Boardwalk for about two days right after it opened in the mid-90s, but I don't remember too terribly much since we were only there due to a mix up of dates my dad had made about our originally-booked rooms at the Polynesian. Basically we arrived two days before our vacation was originally scheduled --we didn't have internet then, so all the booking was by phone--and they only had rooms at the Boardwalk available for those days. Anyway, I'm looking forward to experiencing this place as an adult. The Epcot area of resorts seemed to offer a lot more for adults traveling without children, which was a major draw.

I'm looking forward to scouring this forum for details/tips so that I can get the most out of my vacation!

Welcome to the thread, @Doxycycline and I'll log your dates. What a funny story about your only other BWI stay. Hope you'll report back to us about your experience:)

Hi all, quick question. We will be staying at BWV 8/28 to 9/1.

I'll add your dates to the BoardWalk Bulletin :)

We will be staying at BWV Nov 4th - Nov 11th! :cool1:

Congratulations!

My DW and I are staying at the BWI March 31-April 4.

Your trip is coming up soon! I'll get your dates posted.

Actually, I believe that other than the Club Level rooms, all the rooms facing the back side and not the water, are Standard. I could be wrong, but Touring Plans also classifies them that way.

That's correct:)

We're staying at the BV for the first time in a few weeks and we have a standard view deluxe studio booked for 5 people. I've been searching for rooms on the touring plans room finder, but all of the standard view studios say they have a queen and pullout or a king and pullout, which would only sleep 4 people. I don't see any that sleep 5. Am I missing something?

TouringPlans can be very inaccurate when it comes to what rooms are which category.

Does anyone know what the parking situation is at the Boardwalk? I'll be there at the end of May and on the Disney website it mentions that there is work being done and parking may be limited. Will that still be the case in May?

There's a Murphy Bed under the tv for the 5th person. I never examined it but I believe its not very big.

Found this picture with Google search.
