Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Hello. We are going to have our first stay at Boardwalk in July. We are taking my sister and her son, DH, DD(21) and myself--- so we will be 4 adults and 1 child. We have booked a standard room with 2 Queens and 1 Daybed. Does anyone have a picture of the daybed open? It may be used by my daughter and I want to be sure it will work for her.
Take a look at the Disney Resort room photo on their website - it shows the "daybed/couch" from an angle - and I suppose that it unfolds like a futon, but we never used it, so I don't know for sure. It looks like the size of a regular full size sofa folded up, so I assume that's the length of the bed.

Just got back from an awesome trip. I did a video of our 1 bedroom villa standard views we stayed in if anyone is interested.

Nice video - thanks for sharing. Do you recall what kind of coffee filters the coffee maker uses (i.e. flat bottomed or cone shaped)? We're heading there at the end of the month and I'd like to be able to make a pot each morning.

Thanks!

Standard 8-12 cup basket type filters. Ours was a Mr. Coffee.

If you are in a studio and get a smaller coffee maker (4-6 cup), you can call Housekeeping and ask them to bring you the larger 10-12 cup one.

Thanks for the info. We're staying in a 2BR, so I'm hoping the 10-12 cup will be the in the room already.

We're going to be at BWI at about the same time -- also a Mom and DD trip to celebrate her college graduation -- but did not receive an e-mail about painting, etc. We stayed at BWI 3 times in 2016 and they were painting on the BWI the first two visits, but had switched over to BWV by the December visit. I thought BWI was done.

Congratulations to your daughter!
Thanks and congratulations to your DD! I order my DD the cutest graduation ears from Esty so you may see us around.

We just left on Tuesday. Sorry this picture was at the end of our trip! Our 6'3" son slept in it, and it was just long enough for him, and he said it was comfortable. And we loved the resort!

What, you couldn't make the bed first? :duck:
It's my week off! Plus, this reminds me of his room at home so it's more realistic.

I really do love these daybeds. They are so much better than a rollaway, which takes up space when not being used, or some pullouts when you have to store cushions and rearrange furniture and then put everything back together every day. I think the mattresses are more comfortable, too, because they aren't folded when they aren't in use. Super easy to flip to the mattress side and use.

I just saw a review for a room with two windows in place of where the glass door would typically be---I guess I incorrectly assumed all the rooms at BWI had balconies/patios. Are there only a few rooms that don't have a balcony or patio?

Yes- I had one of those rooms the last time I stayed at Boardwalk. We were overlooking the courtyard outside of the lobby that leads to the Boardwalk. We were close to the inner corner so I assumed it was too close to the room on the other side of the corner, thus no balcony. I don't know what the room number was, or even what floor it was on as it was a few years ago. We only spent one night before moving over to Beach Club so I didn't bother going back to the lobby about it. It was a great view though.

Hello! We are really looking forward to our first stay at the Boardwalk Inn this August! I know that there is no "food court" in the resort, and it really is no big deal as there are lots of great food options all around the area but I am wondering about the rapid refill mugs....we usually have gotten them at other resorts because the kids always enjoy filling up to bring a drink to the room or by the pool et cetera and I was wondering if it would be worth it (or are they even sold there?)...is there a place where you can fill the refillable mugs?

We just got back from a great stay at the Boardwalk. We were able to have our mugs filled at the Luna pool bar and the Belle Vue lounge by the bartenders. There is a full self-serve refill station down on the Boardwalk in the bakery. There was also coffee in the mornings in the Belle Vue lounge. I don't recall if it was still there in the evenings. Our kids are older teens, so they went down to the bakery on their own quite often because there were more self-serve choices available than what you could get at the bars.
