Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Just confirming, we are a family of 5 staying in BWI. Do all rooms have either a king bed or 2 Queens with a daybed? On Touring Plans room views, it is giving option of only 2 Queens?

Hi all! Still catching up after a little hiatus from the DIS-no particular reason, unless you count spending too much time on Facebook!
Anyhow, a few pages back I read about the elevators and the lobby and just need some clarification. We will be staying on the villas side and I will be renting an ECV. So, to go to the bus stop I take the elevator to the 2nd floor Lobby, but to go to the boardwalk/boats I take the elevator to the Lobby/2nd floor, get off and look for a different elevator to the ground floor? Or do I have this all wrong? Please help!
Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day!

Quick question- we leave for Disney 2 weeks from yesterday-yay!- and arrive at BWV on a Saturday. I am wanting to ship in a prime pantry box. I know it is ok for me to have it get there early- but with BWI/BWV being a convention center, A.) do they charge for a prime pantry box since it is groceries? and B.) Is this something I can pick up on a Saturday or would I have to wait until Monday(which would defeat my purposes)? thanks!

On the Villas side you take elevator to 2nd floor for bus & lobby or to 1st floor for boat.

If you are staying in a hotel which has a convention center attached, and your package is arriving by UPS or FedEx, the package will go to the convention center office. The convention center office is run by an outside company. The outside company charge a fee for handling the package.
The link for fees is here: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/business-centers/

If your package is arriving by USPS, it will first go to a central delivery location, and then be taken to the front desk of your hotel. You need to leave extra time for this extra stop. In the past, there was no fee for this. However, people are reporting that a fee is now being charged. I found this: "Please note that a $5 per package handling fee will apply to all packages that are received through the Front Desk or are delivered to your Disney Resort hotel room."
Here is the link for that: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/guest-services/mail-services/

If the convention center office is not open, the front desk might be able to access it.

I don't think it matters that the contents of the box are groceries rather than something else. If you heard about a grocery exception, it might have been a reference to Garden Grocer, which is a local company which is making a delivery rather than shipping by UPS, Fed Ex or USPS.

The Inn has the problem with having to switch elevators. You should be fine (as stated previously) with 2nd floor for bus or lobby and 1st floor fornBoardwalk access on the Villas side. Hope you have a great stay!

Hmmm, not sure why I had such a hard time finding them...I guess I was thinking it was a Cuisinart product, since the pots are Cuisinart. Ordered some off Amazon and will be ready for our trip!! Thanks!!

On the Villas side you take elevator to 2nd floor for bus & lobby or to 1st floor for boat.
I know where the 1st floor elevator is on the Inn side, is there another one specifically for 1st to 2nd floor for the Villa side? If so, where is it...might save a few steps coming from the HS pathway or pool...

The villas have one elevator which runs from the 1st floor to the 5th floor.
The elevator is near the gym and directly outside is Luna Pool.

Hi all! Both my boyfriend and I have never stayed at the Boardwalk and We are considering splurging and staying there during our trip in November! We will be getting engaged on this trip and I was wondering if you think this would be a better option for a special & memorable trip versus staying at POR/POFQ?

I've stayed at all levels of resorts at DW. BWI is definitely nicer than POR/POFQ -- more amenities, great location, etc. -- but I can make a great trip out of any resort. I wouldn't break the bank to stay at BW, but if you can easily swing it, I think it would make the trip a bit more special.

Since coffee makers came up, what about the Villas? We will be staying in a studio and I had thought they had to 10 cup drip type makers, is that still correct?

On the Inn side, the elevator off the Bellevue Lounge area just goes between the 1st and 2nd floor.

This is separate from the elevators for the Inn rooms that go from 1st to 5th floors. If you go to the 1st floor on these elevators they open out to the Inn pool and courtyard, but do not have access out to the Boardwalk as far as I know.

The elevators on the Villas side goes all floors with access to the Boardwalk area. Easy Peasy for scooters and strollers.

Thank you!! This is very helpful and I copied and pasted it into my file. :)
Hopefully, I will have some time to practice navigating and driving the scooter on our first day so that I will get the lay of the land quickly. I am so used to the WL where everything is so close!

Thank you ! I am hoping to get a room discount to allow us to stay here. It really does look beautiful!

Hello BWI experts! We have 1 night booked following our cruise (4/3-4/4/17) in a standard view room. What should I request to avoid a parking lot view? Also, can anyone let me know what the current pool hours are? TIA!
