If they have it on 9/2, I'll definitely be on board

Looks like it has enough savory food so we can skip dinner and just have dinner in the dessert party. Thats a way to make it more worth the money

The events are after park close, why wouldn't they have a party?

I thought you went on the ride after park close? So I if they were having an exclusive event for passholder only they would not host a party?

I was thinking since its exclusive to passholders that night from 9 to 11pm would they have the dessert party since you go on the ride after park close with the dessert party?

I see your logic, but they can do both if they wanted to. They proved that by doing a party on a EMH night recently. They only need about 15 minutes to get all the party guests through FEA ride. They may not schedule a party on that night but I don't think it'll be due to the AP event.

I did this party in June. There really wasn't that much savory food. There was a cheese fondue with bread and broccoli, that's about it (It was delicious though). I would still do a light dinner.

On July 4 they had us ride before park close. We just went through fast pass with everyone else. The manager led us through since we couldn’t scan magic bands. They thought it would be too hard to go opposite the holiday fireworks traffic after fireworks to get to the ride. Then storms delayed fireworks and they let anyone who wanted go down and ride after it closed. People who wanted to got multiple rides in during the 40ish minute delay. I will also note that having the inside party wasn’t bad. I can see sitting at the tables before and during the show being great but we really didn’t mind being inside (especially during the storms)

I appreciate your input on this. I hope this is the case for the 9/6 passholder event as well, as I was hoping for a party that night. Thought it was a fairly safe choice with no evening EMH hours, but didn’t expect the passholder event.

For dessert parties during Christmas time, do you get to stay to watch the "Peace on Earth" part before they bring you over to ride Frozen?

The July 4th party was a very unique party, to say the least. I don't think they should schedule it during major holiday nights especially if the back-up location has to be used. Escorting Guests to the viewing area and back to Norway for the ride is a challenge when the park is packed.

Yes

Just returned from a Magical Trip & would like to give a review of this fun dessert party!

We attended on 7/12 & this was a surprise for DD12. (We were traveling with another family & it was surprise for their DD9 as well) Knowing the possibility of the dessert portion of this party could be moved inside due to weather, we watched the forecast all afternoon. Around 6:00 we were in the area of Norway & we noticed a CM holding a sign for the dessert party check-in. As I took DD into the store, DH checked us in & received wristbands. He was told to return around 7:30-7:45. While we waited, we went to the Mexico pavilion & that was when we surprised DD & DD firend with the wrist bands (needless to say they were so excited!)

By 7:40 we were back at the Norway Pavilion, along with several other families, and were escorted upstairs. The party area is a nice size, we did not feel crowded at all. We were escorted to our table, which we shared with another family & we had a nice conversation about Slinky Dog...lol. We were happy to be inside in the AC as the humidity that day was bad. We appreciated that this dessert party has tables & chairs. There is also a restroom upstairs.

On to the desserts! The specialty drinks were good, I liked the margarita over the sangria. I did not go to the bar, DH did, so I do not know what other adult beverages were offered. There was coffee, tea, water, soda & I think POG juice. Savory - spicy trail mix, bread, pita, broccoli & cheese fondue. Desserts - fruit platter, blue velvet cupcakes, rice crispy treats in the shape of a bonbon, lemon curd cups, almond cookies (sooo good!), key lime tarts, eclair/macaroon cookies, ice cream, warm S'mores cake, warm bread pudding with caramel (not sure what this was exactly called, but it was yummy!!), and the frozen nitro popcorn - I could have eaten this all night!!

After desserts, we were given 3D glasses (which were really fun to use) and escorted to the viewing area. The CMs had this so organized - kuddos to them!! The viewing location was spectacular! We were not crowded or on top of the next family. After the show was over, we waited about 5 minutes, then the CMs escorted us back to the ride, we walked the full standby line, which was fun. After the ride, we walked to the main entrance to exit the park.

This was a great dessert party & a wonderful way to watch Illuminations. Riding Frozen Ever After is a plus as we did not need a fastpass.

Fastpasser - thank you:thanks: for all your insight on this thread and Thank you to your fellow CMs!! We had a wonderful evening!!

You're welcome. Too bad it was indoors but that's almost the standard location during the summer. If you liked the indoor version, you would have liked the outdoor version even more.

If available next summer, might have to book it again....lol

I was just about to post this. It’s a rumor still (and we know what a stir they can cause) and it has no timelines, but it makes me wonder if this isn’t PART of why we don’t have dates yet...

The article in the Orlando Sentinel mentions no time frames but does say that they should have an update in 4-5 months! That makes me think any change is going to be way beyond September. I really think this delay in the FEA Party is just Disney disorganization. Illuninations is listed on the Disney Calendar for the month of September...

That's sound thinking, really. And they did do a similar release in April, I think it was. They dropped the dates for April to August on April 2nd, if memory serves.

I hope it is just disorganization! This was the dessert party I was most excited for for our trip. We are also doing Star Wars and HEA dessert parties during the trip.
