You're welcome. Too bad it was indoors but that's almost the standard location during the summer. If you liked the indoor version, you would have liked the outdoor version even more.

Two questions (I'm sorry if they've already been asked or answered): We are going to this party on 8/23. Should I just expect it will be in the Norway pavilion? Will they notify us if this is the case? Also, if it's in the Norway pavilion, do we just watch the fireworks near the pavilion? Or do they escort us over to the traditional party spot near Mexico?

Also, is it super important to be on time for this party? Our start time is listed as 8 pm, but it won't take us an hour to eat dessert.

Thanks for any information!!

No

They'll call the phone number on the rez when they decide to move it.

Guests are escorted to the original party location and then back to Norway.
is it super important to be on time for this party?
No, tables are preassigned so it'll be there for you no matter what time you arrive.

You'll lose about 15 minutes because of the additional escort to the viewing area.

One more question - if we are a party of 2, should I expect we will be seated with another family?
It depends on where the party takes place. If it's at the regular location at Mexico Vista, you should expect to share a table, but it depends on the make up of the groups on any given night. They do try to give each group their own table but sometimes it's not possible. If it's at the Norway Loft, there are fewer tables and they are much larger tables, expect to share a table.

Thank you so much!

Your questions have been answered, but FWIW... as is usually typical with us and dessert parties, we arrived more like 8:20ish when we did this in Feb. We walked by at some point pre-8pm (on the way to the Mexico pavilion for a ride on Three Cabalerros) and there was a really long line already lined up. I think we had more fun getting a ride in, showing up late, and not waiting in any line. :-) But we’re a bit like you in that an hour of desserts / sitting around is a bit too much - I’m ok getting less out of the party and

We were also a two-some on that trip and were seated with 3 others (a party of 2 and party of 1). I’m not going to lie, at first it was a little awkward because the tables are sort of small/intimate. Since our table mates had been there for a bit already, it sort of felt like we were intruding.

BUT, we quickly made new friends and had a good chat as we waited for Illuminations.

Anyway, have fun!

If it's the line I think it is, those people had already checked in, they were waiting for the party to begin. There's no advantage arriving earlier than 10 to 15 minutes before the advertised start time. Usually, there will be no line at that point. And that's only if you want the maximum amount of time at the party.

Hmm, now I am not sure I want to book. I don't like the idea of sharing a table. I am not anti social or anything, but a little backward and not one to enjoy making small talk with people I don't know.

Is it an option to stand?
Can't say that I've ever seen that, but I guess you could. What I have seen is people sitting on a bench that is located near the buffet tables. When I observe someone or a couple sitting on the bench, it's usually because they are not comfortable sharing a table. I'll intervene and inform the Leader to see if there's another option. There usually is.

We’ve done the World of Color dessert party at DCA and have had to share a table every time. It really isn’t a big deal. Usually we make small talk with the people at our table and have met some neat people that way. If you don’t feel like making small talk, just focus on talking with whoever you’re with and I’m sure the other couple will do the same.
