That's what I remember too. So many people hating on HEA. I'm going to wait and see on Enchantment for that reason.

People don't like change. I was so amused at how many where so sad when HEA was ending after the weeks.months in the beginning of all the hating on it. Enchantment will grow on most and if by chance it doesn't than maybe Disney will make some changes who knows, I am still excited to see it later this month.

I watched the video for enchantment and felt it was fine and I remember when HEA started it got bashed too with tons of bring Back wishes posts.

Same here. I watched the Disney stream for both and came away unimpressed. Then I watched Resort TV 1's YouTube stream of the 50th and it was much better. I think Disney did a bad job on the two streams as the cameras missed a lot because they kept focusing in, especially for Harmonious. I will say, I still like both Wishes and HEA better than Enchanted. It just doesn't flow smoothly and overall lacks a story line. But the second viewing was better than the first. I also think I was expecting a lot more for the 50th and that's why I did not like the first showing. Overall, WDW Management really missed the mark on the 50th Celebration. There was no ceremony at the park for the 50th at all. They did something on the stream for the press, who were the only ones invited, but nothing for the paying public. They built up all this expectation for the public and gave them nothing other than cavalcades and a new fireworks show that does not celebrate the 50th. No ceremony on the stage, no Execs there to say anything. Does anyone else feel that the Disney Marketing Machine is advertising one experience and the parks are delivering something else?

I really think if Covid didn't hit the 50th would have been so much bigger.

I'm going to try to save judgement on it for when I see it in person. I watched the Enchantment live stream and was kind of bored with it. It didn't grab at my emotions like other shows have. But, I also avoided seeing the Disneyland fireworks show because I watched a video of it once and wasn't that impressed. As a local, I figured it wasn't worth dealing with the crowds for. But, a friend of mine wanted to see them this summer so I stayed to watch them. And holy moly what a different experience! I had so much fun and they got a few tears out of me.

So after that, I'm going to try not to judge any nighttime shows until I've seen them in person.

to be honest, I find videos of all the firework shows boring. It's just not the same as watching live. So I avoid the vids and wait to see them in person.

According to WDWMAGIC Disney execs have asked parks to heavily cut labor costs. That to me says the 50th isn't as a big draw as they thought.
I'm wondering if a Disney Executive is targeting John from CoP due to the volume of performances he gives day in and day out? It wouldn't shock me, honestly, if a corporate exec really thought this way.

I think the travel bubble may have burst. Plenty of people we’re using stimulus money and the additional unemployment that was coming in. With that gone funds are lower which means less travel. Also there are so many people still not working. People that lost their jobs during the pandemic who realized they could survive on one income or living with family and not have so many extras but have their mental health intact. First extra to go is vacation. I’m hoping this sticks around through next year but not to the point where they stop adding extras. If crowds are too low they won’t bring certain things back. We go late next year.
I've noticed that the restaurant we patronize weekly has less business since the additional unemployment is not coming in. I'm not sure if it is the cause but...

I went to WDWMAGIC looking for this story and can't find it. Can you post a link?
There isn’t an article post for it over there. It’s in their forum discussions.
A post in a forum discussion should not merit an "According to WDWMAGIC."

It is a big factor. The unemployment was a false boom in spending since so many made more on it then they did at their jobs. Also there were many families that one persons income was soley for activities, christmas, trips and such so those people really won with the unemployment since they could have always lived on the others income.

"Although the environment is not right just yet for hugs and autographs, you’ll soon be able to have individualized time with some of your favorite characters, getting to visit with them in a themed location and snap a photo or two. " but sure it's the right environment to fill in all available space while no one wears a mask

I am sure it’s about the unions. Thankfully it is one step closer.
