According to WDWMAGIC Disney execs have asked parks to heavily cut labor costs. That to me says the 50th isn't as a big draw as they thought.
With all of the negative press + covid is it really surprising? They've been relying on brand name for so long that once the damage is done it's really hard to recover. I mean look at what happened with Game of Thrones, an entire cultural phenomena essentially wiped out in such a short amount of time. Knee jerk responses like this from execs only cement the message to those thinking of going that it's not going to be worth it.
Agreed. IMO it looks good on them. When other parks across the country are back to putting on their full Halloween events and Disney doesn't it says a lot. One thing that disappointed me is the the lackluster 50th. Look at Cedar Point, they just had their 150th and they went all out. Had a night time parade, had special food, merchandise and a museum set up to look back at the last 150 years. Disney's answer is well some merch and cupcakes. IMO they need to stop using Covid as an excuse. With all of the negative press + covid is it really surprising? Gotta save money for those unearned bonuses.According to WDWMAGIC Disney execs have asked parks to heavily cut labor costs. That to me says the 50th isn't as a big draw as they thought.
I'd kind of like the execs to cut their own labor costs. They have turned a pretty recent fan (last 5 or 6 years) that spends a lot of money making several family trips to Disney in a year start looking at other options.According to WDWMAGIC Disney execs have asked parks to heavily cut labor costs. Just out of curiosity, where are they going to cut these labor costs? They have not brought back parades and most shows. If Disney keeps cutting, then people will not go. Dear Disney, give the people what they want and they will come. Continuing cutting everything and you will find yourself in a heap of trouble.
Cut the clarabelle/max/caballero cavalcade as thats just a random collection of characters & is expendable, cut some of the characters in the flotillas, the characters that ARE out physically distanced out fewer and far between…. NOT reimagining Nemo or Indy …Just out of curiosity, where are they going to cut these labor costs? They have not brought back parades and most shows. Great! Something else to now worry about for our trip in 3 weeks
Edited above, does appear to be mostly in the film/television aspect vs any parks impact to Disney.
