***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

Lol, I love all the running comments. I used to absolutely despise it. Now I'm addicted, lol. I just registered yesterday for the Tinker Bell Half Marathon in Disneyland in May, woot!

Oh, and I also have the Sleepy Hollow 10k this Saturday (yup, located in and around the actual Sleepy Hollow in NY, I live just across the river). Apparently people dress up in costumes because it's a Halloween race so I'm running as Belle! Just ordered my blue tutu, blue tank top, and white apron. Might throw a white t-shirt under the tank, depending on temps. And then I already have this small bag shaped like a book (Harry Potter) from Etsy that I'll wear.

Sorry, I know this isn't 1st week December related but I'm just excited! Lol

That's awesome! The outfit is so cute! :thumbsup2 We pretty much talk about almost anything here (I know I do) so feel free :rotfl: Was thinking about doing some Disney bounding but DH's comment that it's embarrassing is getting to me :snooty:

I'm from NY and my son's grandparents live in Valley Cottage, ex husband used to have a client in Tarrytown etcetcetc. I know the area well. Very cool. I guess it beats running around headless holding a big pumpkin lol

I remember having to camp out at least an hour but maybe more before the parade and it was packed for MNSSHP in 2014. But I will take your word for it if 45 minutes is enough to get a prime main street location. If we decide to all meet up we might want to give it an hour so we can find a big enough spot for everyone together. I am a fan of ON main street personally but I am willing to negotiate :)
I was surprised about how easy it was to get a spot for the MNSSHP parade and fireworks. We were at sold out parties in 2014 and 2015 and the MK was packed for those two parties. But there weren't as many people at the 2016 party compared to the last two I attended. I don't know if less people are going to the parties or if Disney is selling less tickets, my guess is that it is the former, but we didn't have too much trouble with the viewing spots that we choose. That being said, I did notice that the good curb spots on Main Street were taken rather early in the evening.

Congratulations on all the running and the races. :) I used to run and had a great deal of fun doing all those races. I love your outfit. :) Good luck on your race. :)

That is so cool!! I loathe running. Give me pretty much any other type of cardio over running. I wish I liked it (so does my waistline), but I just can't get into it. Needing a knee replacement probably doesn't help matters lol

Garden Grill is my vote. Captain's Grill is fine I'm sure but it's not very Disney. the atmosphere of the land + characters vs. a boring restaurant in the most boringly themed hotel on property? lol. not that I get a vote OR my opinion was asked.

Garden Grill is my vote, too. Farmer Mickey, Pluto, and Chip and Dale. Not sure if they dress for Christmas or not. We've had dinner there before, but never breakfast.

I first made a CP package reservation for Captain's Grill, then switched it over to Garden Grill when that became available.

So what do you think realistically is a good amount of time to leave? I am a curbside main street girl! I am wondering if the price bump impacted attendance. Good for us if it did lol. But I wouldn't want to count on it being low attendance and miss out either.

yes if you want the least expensive and are staying there and want to quick grab breakfast before going in to the park and don't care about theming or disney touches, I have read that the food is quite good there. But if you give me the choice between that and GG I will take GG!

I'm laughing at both of these comments, but the same goes for me. Unless there is an amazing sale and I mean amazing, you won't see me run unless I'm terrified.

You are one of my people!! :thumbsup2

I'm not sure it actually beats that!

besides, isn't this guy :rotfl2: @areno79 ? I figured we'd have to sneak in a little :drinking1even though the MK is a dry kingdom in exchange for the place holding.

I can be bribed by booze! Maybe you'll even get to see my amazing dance moves! :dancer::woohoo:

Oh nice! I'm very close, I live in Pearl River. I run at Rockland Lake by Valley Cottage all the time!

@Candycane83 I just updated our big spreadsheet with all the names you put in your compilation post. The spreadsheet doesn't include things like tours, just the big dessert parties, MVMCP, CP, EMM, and ADRs.

Thanks for compiling all that info!

If anybody wants to create pages for other events, though, feel free to go ahead and do so.

Warning: rant follows!

My travel agent is aggravating me again with a lack of responsiveness. If I sent a note on Sunday asking her about online check in and final payment (which only she can do) shouldn't I have gotten a response by now? At least an acknowledgement of my email? I know I annoy her because I have an opinion about my trip and have asked her more questions than her usual clients (she clearly likes to work with people that will want to do exactly what she plans for them) but she has a responsibility to work with even "difficult" clients like me!

She's a Disney authorized travel agent and I paid her an extra fee for her concierge services. Do I have recourse with Disney? I'm a little afraid of actually doing anything (or posting here lest she reads this somehow and figures out its me) because what if she takes revenge and cancels my trips or fast passes or ADRs (ok, I'm being paranoid). But she is making what should be a happy planning experience a really miserable and stressful one and I feel that Disney somehow needs to know.

Ok venting done!

Oh no, that totally sucks! :sad2: I hope she responds soon! My TA didn't do anything but book for me and she normally responds faster than that. Wow. Once everything is done, at least you'll know you would not need the TA next time. (I think you'll be a much better TA than her.)

Country Bears... anyone doing this? How is it? I've never been... :P
it is the perfect "show up at the beginning of your BTMRR FP+ window and SM window is right after it" show. I love it too, it is classic disney... to me, not to be missed like the tiki room, pirates, carousel of progress... it gives me that warm and fuzzy "walt loves us soooo much" feeling!

I would hate for you to miss out, too. When we got to MK on our MNSSHP night on Oct 2nd a little after 7pm there were already a lot of people reserving the curb on Main Street. They used blankets and strollers, mostly, to reserve their spots. If you want to sit on Main Street then I would get a spot early.
