***1st Week of December Thread ADR Plans, Park Hours, and dealing with Pop Warner***

I'm right there with you guys on that one! I'm doing the 8:15 12/7 CO and it's my first one ever, so I'm really anxious to find out who the narrator is!

So, I have a question. What do you guys think my chances are of finding a reservation open up for the JBJB dessert party on Friday, 12/9? I currently have it booked for Tues, 12/6, which is my arrival day. Now, I'm not complaining about anything, since I only just learned about this party Sunday night (I've been such a delinquent!) but Friday would really be the ideal day since that's my HS day. Tues I don't actually have park tickets for so will have to add a day when I get there if I keep the JBJB party for Tuesday. Another option is to book it for Sat 12/10 (if it's still available, it was last night). That is currently my AK day. I could flip my Fri and Sat HS and AK days to accommodate that. My only concern there is I already have my fp+ for both days and got a TSMM for Friday. I haven't gotten to ride it in a couple years, and I'm worried if I give it up I won't find one for Saturday. Thoughts?
you'll find it for saturday. maybe not first thing in the morning, but i have been moving around my Tier 1 FP+ with absolutely no trouble.

actually I was able to check saturday 12/10 for 1 because kiddo has an AP and we are not booked for anything at all that day... there is plenty of availability for TSMM starting at 9:10am for 1. I would say swap around with confidence if you can be flexible on time.

well I'm sure it is booked up for my night. i hung up, it said 90 minute wait but I will hang on for 10 min or so I guess lol. I am not hopeful for an 8:30 time on a party night though. I assume I am a week before you? 12/9.
I booked for 12/17. She said she had 9pm and 5pm available. Nothing else in between those 2 times.

Ahh, thank you so much, you rock! This will save me the additional $45ish of adding a day to a 3 day pass. I should remember too, now that I'm a solo traveler there's an even better chance of finding availability!

And now that all you guys are talking about the carriage ride I'm wondering if I should jump over to the campground Tues evening to explore the decorations! Or, and maybe this is a crazy idea, but I'm a runner too. Would it be weird to pop over to the campground for a run? I'd get some mileage in AND get to check out the decorations. I've never been over there before, but I'm guessing it would be pretty safe to run through the campground. I'm not worried about it being dark, I run at home all the time with a headlamp, reflective vest, and blinky light on my back, lol.

Maybe you guys want to tell me when you're doing EMM and MVmCP too? :)

Hi all! I have a scrapbooking weekend with my sister and our 2 aunts this weekend so I've been busy making final plans. One of my aunts has asked me about the Sight & Sound Theater in Lancaster for years so we're going to see Samson there on Thursday and then some touring/shopping in Amish country on Friday before the scrapbooking event. I had to finish my detailed agenda and send it to everyone yesterday :surfweb:

@Candycane83 - Here are my "extras". It's a lot, but I have to spoil my nephew, right? and I'm not sure that I will go back to WDW for a while. Except for MVMCP one time in 2014, I haven't done any of these before. Have never even seen Illuminations.

12/3: Wild Africa Trek at 8am (maybe I can meet some people waiting for EMH!)
12/4: EMM at MK
12/4: MVMCP and Wishes Holiday Dessert Party
12/5: JBJB Dessert Party
12/6: MVMCP
12/7: Illuminations Sparkling Dessert Party

haha I just worry about getting back to the hotel too late but it's our last night so whatever. not like I'm gonna sleep that well anyway lol. I guess as long as we are back before fireworks it is fine, even with the boat transfer an hour should be enough time. or if we are just landing at the poly at that time we can just hang at the boat dock for the fireworks and then go back to the room. I guess it's not a huge difference since we are planning to be up for the fireworks anyway. Not sure i'd be able to get it but i think I am going to call and try to book it.
Yeah, I agree that after sunset would probably be better. When I called, on my day, my choices were 5:00pm or 9:00pm and after. I was shooting for 8:30pm, so we went with the 9:00pm. While I would think the campers would probably know the sleigh rides start at 5pm, and they would know to turn their lights on, I wouldn't risk it.

:rotfl2:
:rotfl2: I know we definitely overlap on Epcot day 12/7 ppo at akershus. I know @SilSprBea wpuld be at Garden Grill then and @Lisa F would be rope dropping at Epcot too! ;) (see stalker... :rotfl2:) I'm looking forward to seeing those tags! :cheer2:

Last time we posted our plans together, I didn't think I was stalking anyone (or vice versa).... very little overlap :cutie:
Wish I could rope drop on 12/7 at Epcot, but my sister might revolt on an early morning after MVMCP so my plans start around 11:00 on the 7th. We have 2 FP in Future World and then we will be moving on to drink and snack around the world. Hope I see ya'll there.

:dancer:

I'm sitting on the same fence @Candycane83 is sitting on. but if the parade kicks off at 8:15 and I can still get a good spot at 7:15-7:30 that is huge, that's about the same time you show up for the dessert party. I am not so into the idea of the desserts honestly, I'd rather get a holiday waffle sundae to share with kiddo at sleepy hollow between parade and fireworks.

I guess we should wait and see how crowds are shaping up and being reported maybe. If it's the same show up time with or without the party I am inclined to not do it. Plus we have a chance to meetup, I think it is just me, @Candycane83 and @areno79 at that party now or is there anyone else? the ability to take the kid for a leg stretch and a pee closer to the start of the parade would be huge for me too ;) he is right now running around the living room like a maniac, he is not sitting still for an hour.
I still think meeting up is a good idea especially if we want to try party snacks ;) @rasadkowski and @Talby are in the party but they're doing the dessert party I think :) @LBlovesM&WDW is there too, not sure if she wants to meet up if ever. First we really have to decide on the dessert party.. or not... :rotfl2:

still on the fence thanks to @Party.Of.4-NY>>>FL who suggested it might be possible to use it for parade viewing and dessert but not fireworks. Really it hinges on finding a good spot for the parade. I am not really a dessert person to be perfectly honest, I like the DDP because I can eat a few bites of dessert and leave the rest without guilt (as opposed to if I paid for it OOP lol). So the desserts are not what is appealing. I think I am back to cancelling now lol.

It does seem like as we get closer, I see more overlap than I did before! We have MVMCP the night before the 7th too, so we have our CP dinner package as a "brunch" either at 10:05am at Captain's Grille or 9:45am at Garden Grill. I haven't decided which to keep yet, but either way we won't really start hitting stuff in the park until probably 11:00am at the earliest.

LOL, I love dessert but I'm picky with it. Love unique stuff... :P I'd really consider the dessert party if the view of the fireworks were better. I'd be all for it. But given that I'm paying a premium just for parade viewing isn't really sitting well with me. I know I could go out to get a spot for Wishes but seems so much of a waste? I don't know... I'm still on the fence... Need to decide soon though... :P

we have like 45 days lol. what is the cancellation policy on that one?

I decided it was something I wanted to get in on because I realized It'd be great for our family because we'll be a group of 6. I just didn't want to deal with keeping us all together in the crowds. Especially when it's a really late night for my girls..
That sleepy hallow waffle trumps all those tiny treats.. Maybe I'll sneak one in ( or 6) :)
I don't really mind if it's an "ok" view of fireworks. I mean, as long as we see them I think the girls would be happy. I couldn't imagine there being a paid viewing party if the view was mostly blocked. You know? Is it?

Garden Grill is my vote. Captain's Grill is fine I'm sure but it's not very Disney. the atmosphere of the land + characters vs. a boring restaurant in the most boringly themed hotel on property? lol. not that I get a vote OR my opinion was asked.

It's not blocked, it's just a little off to the side under cover. :) It's great it works for you! Honestly, it might work good for me too especially with a two year old who cannot sit still unless in his stroller. But the view is really killing me! I wish they would do the plaza garden view for this too! LOL! (asking too much of course!)

I wonder why they don't? Is the plaza for regular wishes? Does the terrace hold more people maybe?

They have both for regular days, just the terrace for party days.... :( Oh well... still torn on this... I think I'll make my decision after the first couple of MVMCPs and I would know how to plan party time... :)

I booked for 12/17. She said she had 9pm and 5pm available. Nothing else in between those 2 times.
thank goodnesss for the DVC line and short waits. Unfortunately same as you pretty much. 5pm and 9pm. Also a 7pm but that obviously won't work with HDDR. it would work if I wanted to do it INSTEAD of HDDR but not with. I don't think I want to give up HDDR for a sleigh ride though it would be about the same cost for sleigh ride + dinner at HDDR as it would be for just HDDR.
