Flickr

Yesterday I tried and tried to share a photo on the forums from my Flickr account.

I could not do it.

What exactly is the part of the HTML that I am meant to copy and paste?

Thank you,

Dawn

Are you trying to embed the picture directly in a thread or link people to your photostream?

Also, make sure your privacy settings are set up to let other people see your pictures on flickr.

I am able to post a link to my photos, but I can't figure out how to post an actual picture in my thread.

When I copy and paste the entire link it just shows up as a bunch of letters and figures and no link or photo. I tried various portions of the link to try to get the photo and it shows up as a little square with a ? in it.

What internet browser do you use???? Firefox has a great tool to easily share Flickr pics.

Using Greasemonkey, there's a script called Flick AllSizes+.

I am using Safari on my Mac.

I do have a PC, but these days I am mostly using my Mac.

One way to post a picture without linking back to its Flickr page (Flickr actually wants you to link it back) is to go to your picture..... Click the size you want.... Copy the URL of the picture (not the code with <a HREF.....).... Come here and go to post a message..... Click the little symbol with the mountain..... And that should pretty much be it.

I'm on my phone right now, or else I'd give a breakdown on how to link. That'll get you started though.

Ok, I give up.

Here is what pops up when I click on "share this photo"

<a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/28928632@N08/4645170734/" title="IMG_1730 by KenyaMK, on Flickr"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4070/4645170734_12d8a8257b.jpg" width="500" height="333" alt="IMG_1730" /></a>

I have tried 5 times just now and cannot for the life of me figure out what of this to copy and paste?

I tried copying the URL and that didn't work either.

Computer tech I am not!

Thank you!,

Dawn

To post just the pic, with no linking back to flickr, just use the link with http:......jpg And no other brackets or anything. And use the Add Image icon (yellow square with the mountain).

Do you want to do this?
then take this link and put [ IMG ]http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2643/4099066081_ba7b34c790_b.jpg [ /IMG ] without the spaces before and after IMG and \IMG the spaces let me show you the code and not the photo.

I hope this helps.

A few disney pictures in there.
Nothing too great mostly random favorites just left for vacation (visiting my brother) and dont have a laptop to carry around with me with all my pictures on it!

most of them are taken with an olympus e520.

Tell me what you think

I had a free account with Flickr and only uploaded a certain amount per month.

I then wanted to upload more so I paid the $25 for the year.

If I decide to switch to Smugmug and keep a free account with Flickr in the future will Flickr delete the pics I have already put there once my membership is up or will they stay but in the future I can only upload the min. amount?

Thanks,

Dawn

They won't delete anything but you will only be able to see 200 pics on your account. Anything over that won't show up, but will still be there if you start paying again.

Has anyone figured out how to post images on the DIS that link back to the new, revised flickr? Not a fan of the flickr changes, personally.

You need to view the size you want to post then right click on the image >> choose properties then copy the link.

I hope this is one of the many changes that gets addressed and reverted.
