DVC Plans More Exclusive Spaces for Members **UPDATE - New Member Lounge Coming in 2024**

Well, they have no plans we know about, anyway. :p But I agree, that would be a great location. They could put some DVC guides and a place to sign up for tours in what used to be the preshow room, and the lounge could be in the show room. What a marketing tool - “And if you buy only 150 points from us, you can go through that door into the special Members’ Lounge!”
Except the build out cost to level the floor will be considerable, even if they tiered it. Remember, that attraction was built auditorium style.

I think it's more likely they'd put the DVC lounge in the old Camera shop next to Tony's Town Square. The old camera shop is currently used for a character greeting spot.

If Disney wants to do something, the cost is not an object.

That said, I am also sure they have a lot of unused backstage areas that could be easily converted and themed to have value.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were more than one Club 33-style area that is sitting unused, maybe on Main Street, or elsewhere in the park.

At MK, it would be neat to see a lounge go into the former Stitch's Great Escape building. It's been sitting empty for years and they clearly have no other plans for it at this point.
I think I'd rather see a new, state-of-the-art E-ticket attraction instead. It's Tommowland and should contain something appropriate - not just a stroller parking lot! We've used the lounge at EPCOT maybe twice in 20 years - just not important to us - but clearly of interest to others!

Well, yes - if Disney would build an E-ticket attraction here, that would be the preference for sure. But if we had to choose between it sitting empty and being made into a DVC lounge, I'd choose the lounge. :)

Wow we use it a couple of times a day....

Tomorrow land could work, it would just have to be themed as the DVC of Tomorrow....

Isn’t there an abandoned lounge in animal kingdom? Used to be McDonald’s when they sponsored Dinoland.

Seems to me that’s the logical place to start with minimal cost.

Maybe both! That's a big building. But I would very much prefer a new, interesting attraction that handles thousands of people than just a restricted lounge that might entertain a couple hundred each day. I'm sure there are other potential options for a lounge, if it's on the radar to do.... But that building standing empty for so long just isn't right - such a waste. It's been at least 3 things over the years, and not sure why it's not re-themed yet.....

To be fair. The things in there have been failures.

They might be trying to figure out what to do with the space.

But I agree. I have said the fact it is empty is a disgrace. Disney should be adding ride capacity.

They also should be able to find DVC lounge space in all the parks. I feel like there has to be space somewhere there. I also am guessing MGM studios has some space in either muppets court or animators court that could work but who knows.

Anything that makes DVC have more value is a good thing.

never crossed my mind members would/could visit multiple times a day. Had assumed it was of the once per day sort of thing. :scratchin .

our goal is a cold drink or two before trekking back to Remy. Don’t think we’ve ever spent more than a half hour. We just hope to hit snack time right & that there is room at the inn. Often, there is not & we need to be summoned back.

Thankfully, we are grandfathered on fuel rods, at least no need to stress about charging the phones in all the orlando parks.

I appreciate whatever they do decide to offer in addition to the Epcot lounge. Would like to see something a bit more innovative than another than another lounge, not that I have any specific ideas to share. Surprise me.

You're right - what a waste that they've let it sit empty for such a long time. It makes no sense, other than Disney simply being too cheap to build something in there.

I agree with PPs - I’m sure there are several former corporate lounges in each park that could be turned into DVC lounges. I’d love to see them be as nice as the Star View Station in DL seems to be (bathrooms!). But putting one in a prominent location such as the former Stitch attraction building could serve double duty as a marketing tool so might be attractive to Disney, if they don’t have any better ideas for that space.

For those who have been to Star View Station, how prominent is it? Do you have to be looking for it, or is there signage or other that might attract interest from non-DVC owners, i.e. serve as marketing?

Yep, it is just first come first service

Wasn't the problem with doing anything worthy in that space is they'd have to rip out the entire thing (maybe other connected things like the restaurant)? I think that's the same problem they have with a lot of the older rides where if they cross a certain threshold with costs they'd have to rip it out and rebuild to bring everything up to code; hence the simple rethemes.

NEW DVC Lounge Coming to Walt Disney World

As part of a rundown of what guests can look forward to in 2024, Disney World announced that they will begin construction of a new Disney Vacation Club Member lounge for Walt Disney World this year. Here’s the blurb:

Construction on a brand-new Disney Vacation Club Member Lounge will begin in 2024 at Walt Disney World. This will be a great place for members to relax and recharge during their day of fun!

Currently, the DVC lounge is in the upstairs portion of the Imagination Pavilion at EPCOT. No word on if the Imagination Pavilion lounge will continue to be open to DVC Members once the new lounge opens or not.

No additional information given at this time.

When I was there last month, I would not have know it was there if I did not know what I was looking for! I was curious if they'd make is stick out more, but nope lol

I don’t think so,
remember best keep secret and all

that and they turn away about half the line to the podium

Wonder where this new lounge will be. I hope they don’t close the EPCOT one and instead open a new location in another park.

I’d imagine AK would have the most to benefit from another lounge - or maybe MGM studios.

They removed the fuel rod charge for exchanging at Disney for everyone. There were so many unhappy people that they walked back the charge. Anyone can exchange their Fuel Rods on Disney property for free!
