Yeah, but at the core it's much simpler -- it's a theme park. Disney World. Maybe people shouldn't plan with the expectation of getting in line for the SDMT after making an 8:45 reservation at BOG, expecting to get in at 8:00 because people on the internet say you can, then expecting to get your food super fast because you have expectations of hopping out of there to be first in line to SDMT, then being mad when Disney changes the hours or the morning procedure, or the monorail is down and you get there late, or your food comes out slow or something. It comes down to the fact that the internet leads people to expect certain things that someone else pulled off, when really it was never guaranteed.
I couldn't care less about this change to APs. It won't significantly affect attendance, and if it draws a few people in to visit an extra time or two, then good for Disney. No reason to be mad because someone else will get to go to Disney World even tho this doesn't benefit me at all.
A thousand times this. A family friend is taking his little girls in August to say congratulations on their absolutely amazing prior school year (not sure they know he wanted to surprise them). He asked me for help. I started talking about fastpass and dinning reservations etc. He stopped me and said you know what I'm going to do it the way we did fairs when I was a kid. So I told him stand bye waits can be long an hour or more sometimes and he said that is okay the girls will learn to wait that is just apart of theme parks. Then I told him there were two opens for food quick service kind of fast food like where you go to a counter order, then take your food to sit or a waiter meal where you sit and someone takes your order and brings the food etc. He said great we will just get counter service! It was actually so refreshing to hear him be so positive. I told him you are in for long waits and heat and he said no problem I'll be with my little girls who will be so happy that I'm finally taking them to Disney that it won't matter. I can't wait for him to come back because I imagine he is going to still be glowing after because that is just the kind of guy he is. He doesn't care if they only get in a few rides a day he is there (and has saved for a very long time actually) to be able to make memories with his little girls while they are still little.
