Can anyone offer up some advice on Tuvalu vs Aotearoa? The way Aotearoa is situated on the property it doesn't seem like the theme park view would be very good, yet that longhouse is listed as being in that category. What's the better view of the two?

The TPV from Tuvalu is going to put you literally at the waters edge in the Seven Seas Lagoon, MK in the distance over the water. It's a full view of the Lagoon - boats, water pageant and those using the recreational watercraft. Upper floors are TPV & 1st is Lagoon View as well as TPV I believe.
Aotearoa TPV ( 6 rooms on the 3rd floor) will give you a view of the MK "skyline" (castle, Space Mountain, etc..) it will also give you a view of the Luau Cove beach, the Grand Floridian, the Monorail, and the beautiful tropical landscaping.

Getting ready to check out.
This is my new favourite resort. We didn't even want to go to the parks.
We spent most of the time hanging out at the resort eating Dole Whips and bread pudding. :)

It was love at first stay for us as well!

(and the birth of our split stay addiction - 1 MK Resort split with 1 Epcot area Resort!)

I didn't hear anything that I recall. We spent last evening settling in, sitting on the balcony, just taking in the ambiance. Then left our room about 8:30 pm for a swim and walk around the resort. I don't even know honestly if I would have heard anything to actually notice, I was just so into the moment. :flower1:

Sounds like a great way to spend your arrival day :goodvibes.

@mickeynut1 We are here and loving it!!!

Glad to hear it! Have a great time :).

Can't wait! Just two more days til out first visit!! We also requested 3rd floor Samoa!

Have a great trip :yay:.

The Poly is amazing! Glad you had a nice stay, now it's time to start planning the next trip. Safe travels home :wizard:.

It is still TOO FAR AWAY til my holiday at the Poly....
am reading up all the time, and super excited.
Hoping all of you guys who are there right now (or very soon to be there) are having a fabulous time

The time will go fast! Hope you enjoy the planning :).

This is us as well. We loved the Poly from the minute we checked in. We like trying different resorts and while we have loved them all, the Poly will always be our favorite :goodvibes.

For full disclosure to anyone who is not familiar with the Poly, this photo is VERY old, like 70's or 80's old! The posters info is right though!

Long as they haven't moved the long houses, right... lol! - my first WDW visit - 1979 as a child, since then there've been way too many visits to count.

(Not my photo, it was a stock photo but it was the clearest visual I could find to illustrate my thoughts ;))

Just wanted to throw in my 2 cents as you will likely find most recommend Tuvalu as it is right on the water and thus closer view of the castle. We prefer Aotearoa because I like to see the landscaping and beach. Either is really great. I usually request third floor and leave the rest to chance.

That's exactly the info I was looking for, thank you!

Good to know, I was wondering which of the two would likely be requested more.

Love the "guarantee" of connecting rooms. Note that Tonga's not a room request (given its specialty nature) but somehow Hawaii is (despite also being specialty).

we loved tuvalu - we had a third floor room and it was almost like being on a boat. you don't see anything in front of you but water and a far off magical kingdom. =)

So how many choices can you pick from those 3 groups? Is it still pick 2?

We checked out yesterday so I feel your pain!
But I see you still have 2 weeks at Disney. Have fun at Coronado Springs!
