Your VMK pet peeves

What are your pet peeves on VMK?



Mine include people not reading your signature and asking for what I am wearing(normally flip or bird hat) and asking to be your friend when it says that your list is full.

I have TWO pet pieves:

FIRST.........is that vmk allows talking in the mini games. I'm tired of the childish name calling.

SECOND......vmk is so quick to ban players for various reasons but refuses to ban ppl for harrassing other players. To me it says they are not reading the in game reports.

2. NO PROFANITY: Simply put, don't use swear words and don't post or link to suggestive or inappropriate photos. The boards are equipped with censoring software. If you try to use a profanity, it will be filtered and appear as all asterisks. Please don't get creative in an attempt to bypass the filters. My pet peeves...

1. BSOD, disconnects. Need I say more?

2. Taken/bay be. But especially taken. There's a time and place for that....VMK is not it.

3. People begging for free because they claim to be poor. I usually remind them that we ALL started poor, but we also all earned our own credits to pay for things instead begging for free items. They usually leave the room.

4. Getting a million messages from people asking me to play cute or boot/falling chairs. I usually send a message back saying I don't play those games. A few have been decent and not asked me to play (while still chatting with me aside from that). If the people persist, I delete them from my friends list.

5. The lack of consistency with reporting players. Innocent people get banned for unknown reasons, why clear "rule breakers" go "free" and we're told to just ignore them. Huh?!

ok, admittedly I have had a total of 12 hours sleep in the last 3 nights total so I might be a little edgy, but -

Here I go:

Pirates:
- flag sitting
- ppl who say our team cheated in pirates because we sank them way too fast
- empty keys: what is the point!?!
- booting
- people who pick the fast ship when I have the slow ship and then say, "You go!"
- People who quit half way through a pirate game because they are losing. Dont quit. It's a game. Learn from it and come back and beat me next time.
- People who tell other players "you stink." Help each other out. It's a game!!!

Trades:
- ppl who say, "I will offer rare," and then offer cheer outfit, yeti outfit, and other forever on sale items
- people who agree to a trade and then flake / bail / cancel (making you miss out on other trades)

Ned
- "Nice shot, young chap" - I'm a girl. 'nuff said.

General:
- idk if I am vmk rich or not. Dont ask me. And dont ask me to be your friend just because you think I am rich. Be my friend once you get to know me and you enjoy hanging with me. Just like in life, I would hope.
- ppl who delete you from their list and act like you are still "buddy buddy" (ok, has only happened 2x in a year, but arg, peeves me!)
- ppl who never ever come visit or send notes, except when they need or want something
- the fact that I cant add more of the kind and nice ppl that I have met because i have met my limit of friends

Now, I feel that I HAVE to list good things too so this is not just a big ol' rant.

Friends:
- as odd as it seems, I have made some amazingly wonderful terrific real life friends through vmk. There are a handful that are truly gems in my life.

Disney:
- my love for Disney has company and place to visit right from home

General:
- it is amazing how ppl I do not realize ever notice me, surprise me with the sweet thoughts, notes and surprise gifts "just because." It is sweet to know I have touched others lives like some have touched mine. I guess it outweighs the pet peeves.......

- Dreams

Well I think the lag is the biggest problem, and that VMK takes a lot of memory now I have to clear my memory every 20 minutes so I do not get the nasty purging memory message.

The fact that people quit in ghosts. Most of the time you can tell the difference. The fact you pay 21 credits to play pirates and in bad games get 0 points. At least in ghosts you could make the payment up.

That people with host in their friendship lists seem to always get into the game first. because they can see them on their list and do not have to go through the same click guest room . This one really bugs me.

Rude players that laugh at you when you lose. That to me should be a ban able offense LOL.

And not knowing how they choose CL. Been trying since day one. Basically given up but now I see Briar got it so there is still hope out there

Oh and making the yellow car quest too hard

What I do like is the great new items VMK have been working on. And the dark rides Thanks VMK

<rant on>My biggest peeve is ppl quitting during ghosts. Not crashing, but quitting - as in finding them in the lobby immediatly after the quit. Had three the other night. You are not going to get better by quitting during a game. <Rant off>

oh, and the loading time when i use my laptop...

People booing my music mixes, even if they are titled "credit run"! Obviously I'm just playing the shortest mix to get in and out. My other mixes, well, they're okay. Booing is just mean!

A tip on how to avoid "boos" and finish your credit run even faster! Use the Advanced option on the bottom of the game control panel. Put an "x" in the box and pick an instance that is empty. No waiting in line for LONG mixes to finish and no one around to comment.

People who click the trade button, load a whole bunch of stuff in the window and the say "offer". I don't want your stupid stuff please stop bothering me.


My signature says "Hats and pins not for trade - I don't care if you have a good offer". But at least 80% of the time traders ask me for my hat or pins

For one thing, I thought you couldn't have host players in your list, and I have NEVER asked any of them, and they have that in their signature... .

Let's see here...:

I don't like it how you can be friends with someone for about the time when VMK startedd (I started a few weeks, maybe months, later ) and then they delete you. Mainly because they get new friends and totally ignore you once those new friends have met.

Another thing: VMK IS SO ADDICTIVE, but once I go on a trip (cruise, etc.) I loose my interest in it. I mean, now I'm only TRYING to get addictive to it again, and so far it is succeding...

I don't like it in Pirates how people say things like, "not gg!" because they lost A ROUND (as I have said in another thread before) and then complain that they won't have gl the next round. The same thing with other game I've played with people I don't even know.

"Mummy, duh duh, bay be, and poor" (taken) gets on my nerves (even though people used to say you were wierd if you didn't do taken) a lot now and I am suprised VMK won't just ban people from doing that. I know they put the Saftey Corner in for people to read (I read it), even though the people that do taken won't read it anyway. I wonder if the members know this...? I mean, people who do it might NOTICE it, but not do anything about it. You can still see people walking around with signatures saying, "i need a boy bc i'm so lonely" and other junk like that.

Whew, I'm done complaining. This must be the longest post I ever typed!

A prime example of why I dislike it: Nobody understands a lot of it. I'm fine with "lol" and things like that, nobody wants to type out, "laughs in real life."

mines is for the ones who ask me to trade my magic pins even though in my signature says that I'm not and then they yell at me saying then why am I showing them off if I'm not trading them HELLO PPL!!! I use them...LOL
