Why he said some pretty outlandish things that I wouldn’t even take seriously. The fact that you laughed says way more about you than it does those of us who are glad the old bat finally died.

So, why are you worked up? You seem very invested in this.I had to read Wikipedia to see what controversial things he said. It made laugh… seriously this is what your worked up about. I have not seen this guy on TV since I was 10. I doubt many people under the age of 35 have heard of him. He hasn’t been relevant in years. Certainly not worth getting worked up about.
You're obviously not his target audience, then. Millions of people took it seriously and repeated his hate-filled spewings as if they were true, because he was a 'man of God,' and so it must be true. His hatred for gay people spilled over into everything he said, as did his ranting about a woman's place in the world. His statements came from a pulpit, even more dangerous than if they came from a politician. Hateful, hateful man.Why he said some pretty outlandish things that I wouldn’t even take seriously.
Maybe you wouldn't, but many did. Way too many did. Can you recognize that, and that he was a danger? This is how dictators, for example, rise to power, and he certainly had a great deal of power. Why he said some pretty outlandish things that I wouldn’t even take seriously.
Meow...I didn't *wish* him dead. I'm just not sad that he is and I can admit, even after his death, that he is an awful person.I don’t wish people dead that I disagree with, but you do you.
Another piece of work.Kirk Cameron
Well, he certainly had a lasting deleterious effect on a certain number of the approximately 200 million over age 35 in the US. Just take a look at everyday statements made by certain people these days or the repressive laws being discussed, and passed.I doubt many people under the age of 35 have heard of him. He hasn’t been relevant in years.
So very true. We've seen it historically, we can see it today.Maybe you wouldn't, but many did. Way too many did. Can you recognize that, and that he was a danger? This is how dictators, for example, rise to power,
So glad I'm not one of your "we" people I like your jumble of religions, BTW.I never said I admired him. I don’t admire anyone. We’re all sinners. I don’t believe in reveling in someone’s death. Bad karma in my opinion.
I’m conflicted. On one hand, I liked your posts, because it made me think about a late loved one’s forgiveness toward horrific abuse and religious cults. As someone who has a hard time with forgiveness, I aspire to be more like that kind of person (the anti-Pat).
On the other, it wasn’t too long ago that many on the Dis were celebrating Osama Bin Laden’s death.
If this is simply about the act of rejoicing and celebrating death - anyone’s death - isn’t it hypocritical to be ok with one and not another?
Also, BrianL, I’m not saying YOU do/did this. Just something for people to think about…

When did I say we people? What religions have I mentioned? So glad I'm not one of your "we" people I like your jumble of religions, BTW.
I don't remember a single thread that anyone set up to wish he was dead. But being relieved that some people are no longer allowed to hurt others is dead and gone is not the same thing now is it.I don’t wish people dead that I disagree with, but you do you.
So how do you define right and wrong? Is there no right or wrong? Even if your an atheist you have something to base right and wrong on. Don’t you?Speak for yourself.
I don't believe in "sin."

I use two words: right and wrong. So how do you define right and wrong? Is there no right or wrong? Even if your an atheist you have something to base right and wrong on. Don’t you?
What word do you use?
You have to define right and wrong don’t you? Everyone could have their own interpretation if it’s not based on something.I use two words: right and wrong.
I couldn't care less if he's alive or dead. I just wish he'd **** and stop preying on the vulnerable.
Having no God means having no moral compass. As you can clearly tell by the replies here. You have to define right and wrong don’t you? Everyone could have their own interpretation if it’s not based on something.
Bahahaha that can't be serious....Having no God means having no moral compass. As you can clearly tell by the replies here.
I didn’t say that. Why is that question so hard for to answer?Having no God means having no moral compass. As you can clearly tell by the replies here.
