My friends the summer offer will be

Hi! I am not going until Oct, but I assume at some point some sort of discount will come out. We are currently using a AAA agent. I have a Disney Visa. Will AAA change my booking for me if the discount is better or would I need to rebook myself? I am wondering now bc we are going to switch resorts and I will probably do that on Mon, I am just wondering if I should cancel AAA reservations and go with something else. thank you!!
Also, would you have to book the trip on your Disney Visa? Or can you just use the code and put a partial amount on your Visa? My limit is not enough to pay for my vacation! Thanks again!

You need to tell your AAA agent about the deal. They will not offer it to you on their own, like a Disney Specialist TA does, but they will apply it. Only the down payment or equivalent there of needs to go on your Disney Visa.

Yes but you'll be competing with lots more folks.

Remember that this morning they were booking this room and since it wasn't announced, that means it was folks like us. Even though there's a lot of us, we are a small drop in the bucket. Most folks don't go as crazy as we do.

That said, just keep calling. You'll get what you want.

The offer was on the Disney Visa Rewards between 9-10am CST today.

My DH thinks I am crazy... I feel such anxiety waiting until Tuesday knowing that the deal is now out for the Visa card holders, lol! Does anyone know what time on Tuesday the deal is usually open? I'm wondering if we can do it before we leave for school in the morning or if we will have to wait for a break...

7am Eastern time

Like many of us here, I've been checking the thread daily waiting & hoping for an early release for Disney Visa cardholders. Sooo excited when I logged in today & saw it was open! Got our reservation changed to apply the discount. "Only" saved us a little over $200, but that's $200 more to spend on pretzels, dole whips, Mickey ice cream bars...you get the idea! :woohoo:

Please someone with a little more DW wisdom than I... looking for some advise..
we are booked at POFQ because in the event that free dining was not offered at Value Resorts, we do like the 'deal'.
In light of the room only promo that was just released , historically does it appear that perhaps the 'free dining' may be introduced for late August? i cant remember when the promos began in past years... any thoughts would be most appreciated. Have a Blessed weekend.

Go to Mousesavers.com and she list past years deals, when they were released, and what dates the were good for. Very well organized, which I could put the link on but it's not letting me. :badpc:

Here are the Historic Patterns for fall free dining offers. I'm looking for the trend going back to late April, leaning toward April 25.

2006 - Booking started April 1
2007 - Booking started April 9
2008 - Booking started April 7
2009 - Booking started March 30
2010 - Booking Started April 29
2011 - Booking Started April 28
2012 - Booking Started March 1

I really wish I did not see this post, lol. I've always wondered if we missed out on free dining during our first trip in August 2008 (before I knew about special offers & The Dis) Looks like we did *sigh* But I'm not like that I'll let Disney apply the 2008 discount to my trip this year :) (wouldn't that be some major pixie dust)!!!!

So Danny, what do you think the dates will be for free dining in August, and when do you think they will release them? Last year they released the FD dates in March, as opposed to a little later in other years. :confused3

We've talked about this in other posts. But it's looking around August 24 until around September 24th. These are only estimates at this point however. They should release around the end of April and visa holders get advance booking usually on a Thursday, say around April 25.

Thank you! That's around where i thought they would be. Still trying to decide, but it's looking like I will try to get into the FD dates - it saves us more money! :)

But wouldn't that leave a gap of aug 15 through the 24th with no promotions? Does disney ever do that? We happen to be booked aug 15 through the 23rd!

Would just like to add that while I've always heard mid-late August was a slow time, our first experience with visiting in August last year told a different story. Last year, we were there from 8/11-8/20 and we found the parks to be moderate-high and on our last day, the parks & resorts were completely nuts and I believe FD was starting at that time - we were actually glad to be leaving. So perhaps, August is starting to get a lot busier than what it was years ago thus the reason Disney is cutting back or scaling back the promos for that time :confused3?

We were there last August, 25 through Sept 3 on FD and the crowds were nice :) I don't think it was as hot as the previous year was in September either. Hoping the dates are the same!!
