The Disney MagicMobile Pass will not be used for entry into your hotel room. Disney will eventually be supporting a new iOS 15 feature from Apple called Hotel Keys. Once Disney rolls out support at WDW, you will add a separate room reservation specific card to your Apple Wallet which will allow for simpler room entry using a compatible iPhone or Apple Watch.

I have my Digital Membership Card in my Google wallet and it looks like everything is right. I only use Google Wallet for affinity cards and memberships and don't enable credit card payment on it at all. My Disney Magic Mobile has the option on it right now to use as a hotel room key without having to open my Digital Membership Card.

Mine did not work to open my door last week using my MM on my watch..but I do have Apple Wallet. CM said it would but never did.

Currently, the only way to unlock a hotel room door using a smartphone is by using the MDE mobile app. You need to open the app and touch the unlock door button.

I was grandfathered in in 2009, have blue card, can make ressies on cruises, etc.
Do I need to call or is this still an ongoing thing needing to still be fixed.

They are still working on it and supposedly should be fixed by end of month. If you have a trip coming up soon, I might still chat and ask them to open the challenge for you specifically.

Same with mine. But my next trip is in April so I will worry if this isnt fixed by then. Another epic tech failure by Disney.

I think we are saying the same thing. I can use the APP to unlock the door. I believe the plan now is to use the Digital Membership cards to unlock the door so you don't have to fiddle with the app.

The plan is for anything you can do with a Magicband you will be able to do with your phone. Magic mobile is linked to MDE. It may not be fully functional yet, but it will be.

I have a trip in April just going for one day since we also own a 3 bedroom at OLCC, but that is used mostly for the guys to golf. Just going for one day in April but would need if we have dinner(s) at DTD. I'll wait like you and see.

FYI - just back from Aulani. They required the digital card to be shown for discounts in addition to a physical ID. Was a royal pain - and now I needed to carry around a phone that wasn't dead and my wallet - instead of one or the other. Any reports on how this is being handled at the parks?

The parks did take a screenshot of my license so all I needed was my phone. I didn’t have to carry anything else.

They are currently, at some places, taking the screenshot of the affliations on the pass, because they know there are issues..
but did say come Fev 1st, both ID and pulling it up will be required.

I thought I read that there are multiple Android operating systems that make it more complicated to develop and roll out new functionality for Android devices. Is that true?

While it's true that there are multiple versions of Android, there are an equal number of "releases" of iOS. The complicating factor is that the base line of features of each phone is different. For example, there are Android phones that include fingerprint scanners and some that don't. This issue doesn't happen with iOS devices, because the devices are all from Apple. Still, it's one line of code to check to see if something is installed. But, it's easier to design an app for an iphone because you can build features into your app knowing that the hardware support is there.

I keep trying to add this to my wallet but have not been able to find the option to create my pass. I have removed my phone number, added it back and verified it. I’ve deleted the app and downloaded it again. Anyone have any ideas? Do you have to have valid park tickets to add this? I went to Disney in May and had a pass then but I deleted it after I got back.
This is what I see:
