I’m about to apply for the Amex Gold. Should I get an AU user card for my husband, or is that a mistake? Will it prevent him from getting his own bonus if he over opens a Gold card?
I 100% agree with what @Lain had to say and couldn't have said it better myself. An AU card is not a good plan right now - you have no idea what your churning future may hold and you don't want to regret that card 6 months from now. If at all possible, avoid AU cards on personal cards!

My June trip might actually be a go?? Was feeling rather pessimistic the other day.
It’s funny... I always remind out of staters our COVID regs can literally change mid-day, be it with new rules, new colors, new numbers, new whatever-the-heck-system-is-next-rule-book (emojis maybe?)... but I never allowed myself to think they might change for the better 😆

So we are in high school football season here and one of the seniors took ds’ mouth guard tonight because he didn’t have one. So now ds doesn’t have one for his 730 am practice. I’m unamused and grossed out.
And during a freakin’ pandemic 😡 😡 😡

It was wrong & disgusting on its own but adding the fact that that we are in a pandemic so the jerk senior is now putting your whole family at risk if your kid were to accept that back. GRRRHHH!

So excited, randomly had a thought that solved my work from home desk solution almost a year later, since I started on 3/17. It's a Fold Up Desk that mounts to the wall. It's not as long as the fold up table I've been using, but that's also longer than I need so I think I should be able to adapt. I got a triangle shaped, corner monitor stand since the one sits at an angle anyway and a stand to raise my laptop up so I can stop using my decorative keepsake boxes. The shelves will let me keep the bits I do keep at my desk and I've already got a spot I can put the monitor and stuff when I'm not using it. The only thing that I need to find a home for is baby yoda since he's been sitting on the corner as my coworker since april/may. I also have the alien remix roz too, since that's how I often feel, telling people what to do but very much like the aliens, but if she doesn't fit on the monitor stand she can go on a shelf. And this will fit in the spot my table currently does.

This is all because I know my work will still allow work from home and some type of flex schedule and I've gotten used to working from home. And when work is slow like now, it's so much nicer to be at home than in the office. So I want to more easily have the option to continue that. Plus we'll be home more than not at least until summer, so it'll be nice to fold it up for a 3 day weekend or something.

So just an observation - following the Southwest Free Change window timing:

- 1/26 it opens up for Mar/Apr. It closes, then reopens around 2/3 for the same dates.
- 2/23 it opens up for Apr/May. It closes, then reopens around 3/3 for the same dates.

So I'd say we look for the next window to occur either 3/23 or 3/30 to cover May/June. Total guess but just following the pattern...

funny.... :rotfl2: Ok I doubt it's a 'great' redemption... but I need some extra bc I'm eyeing a reservation I want for end of year.... However, I think I could also book it, and get the points later right? That would give a chance to get a few more without using UR's.....

Someone else will actually have to tell you the answer as I've never tried to book ahead of having the points. I've got a lot of them and too many free nights available right now.

Ok, I feel completely lost and I'm a bit rusty on things, so I'll just do one of these:

P1 2/24
super old CF
2/19 CIP
5/19 CSR
5/19 CSP
8/19 Biz Pref
10/19 Amex Bonvoy
1/21 CIU (denied because I'm a dummy)

P2 3/24
1/19 Chase Disney
4/19 CIP
7/19 Biz Pref
1/20 SWPremier
1/20 SWPlus (CP good through 21)
2/21 CSP

We have a WDW trip at the end of April and would like to start replanning our Scotland anniversary trip that is now 2 years later than it should be. We also have talked about a Costa Rica trip with the kiddos next Christmas (do we think SW will resume travel there by then?), but that's more of a wish list item. URs are our fave, but currently we have no MR so willing to look into that too. I also have yet to use my Bonvoy points (90K) or my free night cert because I can't figure out how to find these elusive 35K night places that are actually somewhere I want to go. Thanks!

I know!!!! We are buying a new one today. And ds’s stepmom was exposed to covid at her office this week. She’s tested negative once. Ds has been with me but his dad has given him rides to practice.

Are there any cards offering extra points for gas? I do have a citi visa from Costco that gets 4% back. I also have a CF that I was able to get the gas bonus in February. Thinking about adding DH as an AU on the Citi Visa. Thoughts?

I'm soo mad! 2 packages from Disney Store (including a gift for DS bday) supposedly arrived yesterday via UPS. No email saying they were delivered but I checked status this morning and delivered at 2 pm yesterday. I arrived home from work at 3:30, no packages, and DH, DS and the dog-who-barks-at-everything were home all day. From his desk DH can see any vehicles that pull up in front of our house and never saw UPS.
Anyone have any luck getting a refund from UPS when they say they delivered? Or should I start with Disney Store?

Platicorn is offering 10x on gas IIRC
@Grabnar is correct about the Amex Platinum: It has 10x in gas and grocery for the first 6 months

Pentagon Federal Platinum VISA earns $100+$50 VGC after $1500 spend in 90 days. (5x Gas, 3x Grocery. No AF) See DISchurners for details.

If he's just buying gas at the pump, you might be able to request a duplicate Costco Citi card to replace your "broken" card?

Both of the airlines that fly nonstop from your preferred airports (ATL, MCO) are transfer partners of AMEX. The only way you are getting those flights with UR is to to book them through the Chase Travel Portal. I would look at the AMEX Gold card if you don't see much about the Plat that appeals to you, I love the earning structure and in a year I'm sitting on 225,000 points without a SUB. Then you would have a choice of which airline when you are ready to book.

The issue with waiting to get the Plat SUB is that right now it is one of the higher offers. I've seen 125k point SUB which is the highest ever offered, the 100k SUB was called the Platicorn for how rare it was.
Refi closing on Monday so planning out my next CC steps. Gold is on my short list - how do you figure 225k without a sub? Is it just organic spend? I can make much use of the grocery category so it would definitely be more useful than the amex plat I currently have. Thank you!

The remaining $6.59 from my February Amex paypal credit has not posted but my March 1 paypal charge has already credited. This seems like it will require another chat in a week or 2.
