I love credit cards so much!

I take it you don't have a Sapphire Preferred or Reserve that would get you 1.25x or 1.5x redemption rates on UR? If you don't, yeah hotwire was a better route. You could also redeem those points now for $208.00 cash and put it in your bank account until it comes time to pay the bill.

Yes I have the CSP...the rates I mentioned were logged into UR using those points. 10k/nt totaling 24k points. Cash price thru UR was $125/nt.

Cash price thru Hotwire was $82....total 208 (20,800 points).

It depends on whether you have the CSP or CSR that gives you a bonus on your redemption through the travel portal. If not, then this seems like your best route. Otherwise, you would have paid 25% (CSP) or 50% (CSR) fewer points for the same redemption.

The redemption using CSP ur portal was $125/nt or 24k total points (10k/nt plus taxes). At least that is what it showed me as I went thru to the final checkout screen on there.

If it was not complicated too many people would do it and we wouldn't have these opportunities :) It does take time and research, learning the ins and outs are not easy. To me it's ultimately worth it, but you'll have to evaluate that yourself when you're done.

Yep, if you want the best bang for your buck you have to research EACH transaction to compare transferring points to the Chase travel partner vs booking through UR. Also, do you fly Southwest? Top tip: Southwest is bookable via UR but you have to call Chase travel.

Is there a benefit to booking SW thru UR portal? Because 1.25 redemption you get for using CSP?

Can I just say that my Disney Visa came... and it is gorgeous. I chose the Disneyland 60 theme. For a plastic, no fee card it has class. No one else in my life will care, but I thought you guys might "get" it. :)
That's the one I got. Just seeing it in my wallet makes me happy, even though I don't use it now. Then when I opened a Chase bank account, I didn't realize there were Disney debit cards. The guy asked what design I wanted... It was like, you don't understand how hard of a decision this is! Even though I never use my debit card for fear of being thrown off the thread :rotfl: I still need a cool Disney one!

I'm waiting for mine! Anything Disney is cool so I'm sure I'll love it and I totally get it. I even wear a "hidden Mickey" pin on my lab coat at work. :rolleyes1
I wish I could do something like that! I love it!

Can you request additional cards for the different designs?

I'm having some difficulty with getting this along with the earlier quote from Calypso726, but here goes.
I must have deleted our original application form husband's CSR but the first charge was on 5/25 so I'm pretty sure we were before the 5/21 deadline. Would we then be able to double dip for the travel credit if we wait until January? Then I am planning to product change since I currently have a CSR that I am planning to keep. I am very open to suggestions regarding the best option to product change to and the best timing. Also what is that process?

According to what the bloggers posted, if you got in before the deadline you should be able to get the travel credit again by December/January.

DH and I got the CSR after having the CSP for a few years. We are both keeping our cards. I product changed my CSP to a CFU since I already had a Freedom. DH product changed his to a second Freedom since he could likely max out the bonus categories on 2 Freedom cards during some quarters.

DH and I opened a Chase checking account 2 years ago so we would have a local bank. When we realized that we could get Disney debit cards, we were both ecstatic. And then I learned that you get the same in park benefits with the debit card as you do with the credit card. All we really wanted the credit card for is the Chase exclusive meet and greet, and now we get it without needing to take up a 5/24 slot.

Can I change my arrival day on an AA ticket that I purchased with points? Is there a penalty to do so? I want to leave a day earlier now.

Question for the experts on the board :) Heading to Disney on Aug 16. Wondering which card to have on file for Magicband charges - Chase Freedom Unlimited or Chase Sapphire? Will CS code as travel or hotel at 2x? If not, I'll use CFU for the 1.5. TIA

Chase Sapphire will code 2x for hotel.

make sure you check SW directly and if using RR points is cheaper or not.

I get about 1.5-1.6 cpp value out of transferring UR to RR for what it's worth. That, plus the easy no penalty cancellation policy with RR points, it's a no brainer for me.

Thanks y'all. I was planning to just transfer it to rr, but now I will know to compare thru chase ur portal first.

I am going aug too and plan to use freedom for dining and CSP for charging everything else to the room. Sound right? Sorry, I am new to all this. Previously as detailed as igot was using SW card exclusively and earning CP. I am not used to figuring out the best card to use on a daily basis.

Yes, I would charge dining to the Freedom for the 5x and then any other purchases onto the Magic band so that it charges as hotel for the 2x from CSP.

No personal experience with this, but everything I've read says you can change dates with no penalty on AA award tickets. I think you need to call it in though, not something you can do online. I would love to hear what ends up happening for you since I have some AA award tickets booked. :)
