Oh god a child on a leash?! Whyyy?!

KIDDING!! ;) but man posts like that have caused quite a stir from the sanctimommies on this board

Safety first! I bought my now 8 year old a leash as a toddler because he was a runner. But he started crawling around on all 4's and barking when I put it on him, so that didn't happen again LOL

Speaking of Disney leashes ..... once when were getting off of Buzz my son almost clotheslined himself on a childs leash! The child was wandering away from his mother in a horizontal direction towards the ride photo screens when we were trying to exit. At the time it wasn't funny but now I can laugh about it.

Assuming the free dining is released next week, I plan to wait to book my room or package until shortly after free dining is released. I don't see any need to book now, though that's just for me.
I am waiting to book mine when the offer is released as well. If they sell out, I will go to plan b and get my AP in advance and book with the DDP and just pay for it. To me it is easier to book a new reservation than it is modify.

Here is the one I found and am thinking of buying for him. We will have a stroller but when he is not in it is what I am worried about. He now likes to think he is independent and do what he wants.

Love this! I am a total kid leash Mom! We have been the last two years and have used one both times. The first year I had an almost 3 year old (on leash) and baby. Second year the almost 4 year old was released and the almost 2 year old got the leash instead. That child almost 3 will wear it again this year. It's not always necessary but on busy spots yes!

P.s. Hi to all the after Thanksgiving peeps! We are going 11/25 - 12/2 if all goes as planned.

We have always felt leery about staying at any of the All Stars but after reading so many positive comments during the last few pages, it may be worth trying....What didn't you like about POP and what did you like about Music?
We had a (wet) urine soaked mattress and unwashed towels upon check-in and it was a struggle to remedy that. Also, we found the walk to our room ridiculous. The cafeteria was very over crowded and kept having issues with our mugs. Music was much more intimate and in a word "cleaner".

We are a family of two adults and two teens so the value resorts are getting a little small for us now even though we love them. My original plan was to do the Caribbean Beach this time with the gift card offer but if the moderates really do get quick service free dining only it wouldn't be that much difference to go to a deluxe. I really think it depends on your family but if you can fit in the value I would do that.
That's what I figured also. Thanks so much for the input, I think that's what we'll shoot for.

It's interesting to see people's take on different hotels - I stayed at asmu and pop and I hated the walk at asmu pops building layout it way better imo and the overall feel of pop is better - I mean staying at a value you get what you pay for - as far as noise while in room - by the time I hit the bed I am out from the days excitement so I never noticed and I am a super light sleeper

We were staying at the BW in december 2015, and it was like 55 degrees one morning, and all the resort cm's were walking around with hat and gloves on, all bundled up. It was too funny, we were like "55 degrees is not bad at all", but I guess for the people living there it was freezing.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I had a very similar experience. I'll never forget it. We flew in from South Bend, IN and was literally snowing when we left. Got all settled into our room at POP. The next morning I had to go to the front desk for something. It was 65 degrees. I threw on my shorts and a tank top and headed up there. I passed a woman on the way. Winter coat, scarf wrapped around her neck, cradling and hovering over a cup of coffee like it was a campfire. I laughed and laughed. :rotfl:

I know Pop seems to get a lot of love, but we actually much prefer the All Stars! We've stayed Pop, Movies, and Sports. And my sons are actually at Music with a band trip as we speak!

Seems that a lot of the negative posts about the All Stars have to do with them sharing buses and Pop being dedicated. Well, in actuality they only share buses at "off" times. You won't get that at park open and close--they'll have their own buses. On the other hand Pop has a TON more rooms than any of the single All Stars and all those people are lined up for that same set of Pop buses. Looking at the lines at the parks, the Pop line is always huge!

We found the Pop food court to be chaotic, loud, busy all the time. The All Stars less so.

If you have a preferred room at Pop, it's not bad. But if you have a standard room, some of those can be a long way from the bus stop or food court. All Star resorts are just smaller in general.

Rooms are basically the same at any of them.
i agree I have stayed at pop 2x and both times I was miserable at night time because it was so loud! We were in the 50s section and I could hear everything! We stayed about ASsp in 2014 and I had the best time! We only shared a bus to go to Disney springs and sports was the first on and first off so it wasn't a big deal! Plus I slept great at sports!

So Far the three who seem to have some credit so far are
Black
Steve
and Ron.

We have a lot of Info thanks to them they may not be able to give us all of the info we want. However, we should be thankful.
:thanks:Thanks, Black, Steve, and Ron, for being our open ears out there.

We know if the rumors be true.
1. Mods get QS
2. You must check in on one of the dates when FD is open, to receive it the whole trip.
3. If you book with a TA, Your TA is the only one who can make a change for you. If you trust your TA good for you. If you don't then have 200 ready for a deposit for a new reservation before the phone lines open, all online.
4. Starts Aug 13 or 21st?, No dates open in October, Some in Nov, most in Dec.
5. You can not get a RO deal and FD deal. It won't work.
6. This year if you have the GC from the CRB then that can be kept with FD added.
7. Drop date of FD is Mon the 24th.
8. The time varies year to year. Midnight east coast, to 4 am east coast, then maybe to 7 am when call centers open. No one knows.
9. You must upgrade from QS to TS meal plan 72 hours before your trip. / 48 hours for dvc.
10. This is all still just roumors. No one will know untill Monday what is really happening. We are all just Disney Fanatics taking every lead we can and running with it.

At least we are not alone! :rainbow:

We've stayed at all the All Stars and still prefer POP. Having AoA right there for extra dining options is nice and the kids love walking around each section (at AoA). That said, we did have a large crack in the ceiling of one of our rooms that started leaking last trip. We had to tell them half a dozen times before anyone came to fix it. We thought about asking to move, but we had two rooms and only 3 days left so it seemed like a big hassle.

You may not like me anymore; I'm a little afraid to 'fess up.

We're going with a military discount that is better than any other discount Disney provides. We are so very grateful to Disney for this discount, and it makes our trips that much more special.

But, I love hanging out on this thread every year. You guys are fun!!

It's just that with all the changes and unknowns this year, there have been sooooooo many "what should I do" posts and it really doesn't matter. Just thought I'd try to calm some people down and help them get through the weekend.

Well deserved! I don't think anyone sane would begrudge your discount.

Can I ask if it's a discount on any resort of if it at the dedicated Military one (name is something Green from memory)?
