What to pack, how much to bring, necessities? Motion sickness meds? What to do/things to avoid? How much extra money do we need? Have kids go to kids club, yes/no? any advice is appreciated!
Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, more casual clothes, unless your family does want a more formal picture. There is a guest laundry to use if you need it. Are you going to Palo or Remy? Check the dress code.
Cash is not really needed except for tipping the porters at the port. We do give $1-2 a bag. We also tip room service cash, but I think you can just add to your on board account.
Do your kids like "kids clubs." There are times you can go with them to see. My grandkids were not interested except at the open house times. I hope someone else helps you with that.
Tom brings a non drowsy motion sickness aide. The patch gave him a headache.
Be aware of the gratuities. They will be automatically put on your account. The amount per person, Restaurant server $ stateroom host(ess) each $16, head server $4, assistant server $12. That's another time you may want to have some cash to put in the envelop. You can put more on your onboard account for each.
The last night on board, Guest Services has very long lines. Try to do what you can to avoid that night. Shutters, the photo shop is crazy busy that last night as well.
Read the navigator as you board the ship, and at night. Do plan your next day's adventures. You can modify, but at least look at it so you don't have remorse that you missed something of interest. Tom and I definitely want to see some movies, and the newest ones schedule will be on the first days navigator. We will definitely us the phone app and block out the viewing times we want. Yes, download the app if you haven't.
On the first day only, you can sign up for a free internet package. Information on how to is in the navigator. Check with the internet help person to be sure you shut off anything that just drains usage.
Breathe, have fun.
