One more sleep, live updates with pictures

Yesterday we went to Animal Kingdom, unfortunately Charlie had a really tough day and was asleep by 12pm so we decided to call it a day as it was quite warm and we were a bit worried about Charlie. The day started off well, we went to Tusker House for Breakfast, this is my favourite character meal. Charlie joined in the parade as they circled the tables with musical instruments following Mickey. Our first ride of the day was the Safari, my personal favourite. The guide was super impressed with Charlie's knowledge of animals, he used to be really into animals but it's one of his obsessions that's just stuck. We did the rapids and got a little wet but I was glad of the cool down! Our last ride was Everest before returning home for a nap. I woke up to the boys nagging me to go swimming so we headed over the paddock pool where we also grabbed tea as we hadn't eaten since breakfast. The dining plan holds no value for us, I am ashamed at the amount of food we have wasted. We have a week left and 50 snack credits and 37 counter service yet we only ate out twice, once at universal and once at TGI Friday! Last time we ended up leaving a load of credits behind. I don't know how people use them all, lol. We popped over to the Orlando Premium Outlets, bad idea, memorial weekend = crazy madness!

Today we had a lie in until 9am and headed over to Give Kids the World. Charlie has been better today and enjoyed the mini golf, a few arcade games and a swim in the pool followed by lunch of ... Ice cream! We got to see his star and look through our pictures back in 2012, shed a few tears. It brings back so many memories and we will always be thankful for that holiday, a piece of Charlie will remain there forever. On the way home we headed into come of the outlets in Kissimmee, we had bargains in the converse outlet ... $67 for two adult hoodies, 2 adult tshirts and a pair on converse for Charlie! Dinner tonight was at T-Rex, service was very slow but food was nice. We were sat right next to a dinosaur which Charlie loved. We ended the meal with the best dessert ever!

Great TR . Regards ur snack credits you can use any of the goofy candy( not family bags) small boxes of cookies etc and take them home. We did and used they for prezzies for DD friends and at her bday party. Best thing I ever did. I tend to leave till penultimate day then go in the shop and use them up. Glad charlie is coping so well. Glad to hear the weather is nice. We are going mid may next year and not been in may before. Look forward to more. Keeps me going reading TR's. Makes me think Im there .

I was about to.say the same, don't waste your snack credits they make great gifts and keep the magic.going for a little while longer! I love getting the bags of sweets we then fill clear jars at home and use them to.brighten the place up when the blues kick in,it's fab to look.at and grab some Mickey sweets when your down! We also brought back 20 of those star wars pez sweet holders for gifts they work great for birthday presents! We got ours in the star tours gift shop!

What about using them for slushes to cool.down? You can.also get them in goofys at dtd loads of flavours to choose from!
Hope this helps.

Yep - we don't find the DDP value either.

We brought back loads of sweets last year and I have just binned most of them.

I would rather let the credits go to waste than end up throwing away the food again.

We will bring back some sweets for DDs friends but I will just use the snacks to get drinks in the parks if we want them. I have decided I am not paying cash for anything no matter how small until we are out of credits!

I've only just found your TR but it sounds like you are having a great time! I've really enjoyed reading it :)

That's a lot of credits, wow! Did you upgrade to the deluxe dining plan? I agree with bringing things home as gifts :).

What is that desert called at TRex? It looks amazing!!!

So glad Charlie has picked up! Is he your eldest or youngest? Both your kids are so cute :)

That is what we did last time, think the boys will take them into school to share. We bought 32 bottles of water for $2.50 in Walmart and have been drinking those in the park. Personally I think May is a nice time but think I would go anytime of the year as long as I got out here, lol! Glad you have enjoyed reading x

Now I havnt seen the Star Wars Pez so I will definitely look in the star tours shop. We have had the odd slush or drink but have no room for anything else, I have a sweet tooth but even I'm not used to all these desserts, lol x

Same here, also the concept of getting the most bang for your buck! I just use them for what we want x

No just the regular dining plan. Charlie is my youngest, they are pretty cute but my gosh looks are deceiving, if you seen the melt down in the Lego shop because we told him he couldn't have the princess Lego, lol x

The dessert is called the Chocolate Extinction and can easily be shared by 4 people x

I am loving this trip report.

Your little ones are so cute and I'm enjoying reviewing the photos.

We are staying at SSR in November 2014 so it's reassuring to hear you're enjoying the hotel facilities.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday :)

Haha. I work in a school nursery with 3-4year olds, I know all too welll that looks can be deceiving ;)
Mmm it looks delicious. Would they let you get it as a desert to share on the dining plan rather than ordering 4 individual deserts?

Aimee - sorry to hear Charlie was off key a bit, pleased to hear he is better now. I find that with my DD2 - she is fine the first few days, then tbh I think it all catches up with her and we tend to have a meltdown. Part of the reason we've waited so long to take the kids to WDW - I just don't think she would have coped well with the long flight and time difference etc. She is getting much better as she gets older though :).

Glad you got to see Charlie's star. I can't imagine how those times must have been for you .

Great tips on here about snacks. I am hoping to use snack credits for breakfasts mainly - croissants/cinnamon rolls etc. I am not going to worry about using them up - we will use them as and when. I can imagine in August we'll be drinking LOTS of slushies :thumbsup2. Having said that, it would be nice to bring a few sweets back for DD2 to take to school for friends, although it will be the start of a new school year, so I always find that a difficult time to take in things from holidays!

Ha ha about Miss Piggy - so Charlie likes the Princesses - I bet he was made up with the towel thing next to her - has he seen Frozen? Are you planning on meeting A & E?

Hope your last week goes slowly (in a nice way of course :rotfl2:)!

Before I came I heard a lot of mixed reviews about SSR and I wasn't sure what to expect. My expeditions were blown out of the water. It truly is a stunning resort with lovely staff. We were worried it may be a bit spread out but it's easy to get around even for us pushing around a 6 year old x

Glad to hear that. I'd read similar reports... but DH and I are used to walking around a lot anyway, so hopefully shouldn't be a bother.

We had the same worries,I.even planned that we would change resorts if we didn't like it! We loved it!
Didn't think it was that bad size wise at all and we coped fine with no car too,we really enjoy the paddock section and have requested it again when we go in 3wks :) soo excited.
