Free Dining 2014 Discussion

Maybe they have sold enough resort rooms that they feel they don't need to offer free dining. Apparently bookings for September (no surprise there), November and December are lower than they would like them to be right now, and October is either right on target or higher than anticipated already. That would be my guess. :confused3

I believe that someone else also mentioned that many schools in the US are now taking Fall breaks, and these fall within the two middle weeks of October. That may be causing bookings to go up. :confused3

Uh oh! What is the page maximum for the threads?

SOOOOO excited to hear Chase is giving out the codes for dining coming up! That sounds real promising!!

"YOO HOO, FREE DINING BLOWOUT" :lmao:

I hope the dates are true. I went ahead and switched our trip in Dec (dates not included in FD) to end of Oct. I didn't want to have to worry about changing a bunch of items when FD is announced. I only want to have to worry about calling and getting the FD offer. :thumbsup2

Of course if everything works out our trip got increased to 8 days, inlcudes both Halloween and Christmas party, and gives us FD. So here is hoping for pixie dust that everything will work out as planned. pixiedust:

OMG...the suspense is killing me!! Gotta wait until Wednesday (no chase visa in Canada :sad1:) If we can we're adding an extra Disney day *fingers crossed*

Hopefully the Disney fairy (Tink?) will grant everyone their wishes for FD!!

She said that in her career (over 30 yrs) once they announce which resorts are not included in FD, she has never seen them retract and open it back up. :confused3

I need to clarify. She said that once Disney releases the GP promotion with exclusion, a month later they don't "change their minds" and reopen a resort for the promotion. She has seen different lists for VISA vs GP on some occasions.

Now that is a bit clearer than mud.;)

Thats not true at all. I have seen it happen several times. One off the top of my head was 2012 and AoA little mermaid rooms were not included. Everyone canceled those rooms then to go with another value and then a few weeks later they were added. And that's the only time they have been included in free dining since they opened with a public offer.
I think POR has also opened up once in the past too.

This probably means nothing, but for what it's worth I just checked POR, POFQ, CBR, and CSR for 9/13 through 9/21 (my dates) and standard rooms were available for all except POR, which still had garden view available. This was for four people.

May mean nothing but there's still inventory out there at least for mid-Sept. Hopefully it's a good sign for the PO resorts not to be excluded.

I am going those same days 9/12-9/21 and I am really hoping we can get something I just want to stay at a mod.

I just got free dining for 9/28-10/4 at coronado
I called chase and asked about it and the rep read me the whole info page she had and said it starts for public on May 7th she said started YESTERDAY for chase card holders. I told her disney said no and she gave me a PIN number and a different phone number

I will share it but idk if all the pins are the same or not there is a pin for value that i dont have but she said for moderates D365N

and this is for chase disney visa cardholders only until May 7th I called this number 407-939-7795 which is what chase gave me to call and they updated my reservation to be a disney chase visa magic your way plus free dining package>

chase also said that the package has to be a 6 night 7 day with tickets to be eligible

it was for whole month of sept til oct 3 and then there were many dates for oct and nov as well (sorry I was in a frenzy when trying to get all the info she was giving me)

its now on my My Disney Experience page listing the free dining so Im positive I have gotten it...I would suggest calling Chase and asking for this info to make sure nothing is individualized per acct holder but didnt sound like it

So sorry if this has already been discussed before.

But, why is the middle of October not included?

I know in past years it has been included...we were booked for it last year and then got a PIN to be able to go after Thanksgiving instead. Was just wondering...

Nini

I am dying to know that as well. Every other year it has and that is when the rest of my family on DVC points is going. So obviously we want to go:confused3

You're welcome!! Happy to help!! :goodvibes

That's how I read it, about ASMo. Of course, little things seem to keep changing, so there's still hope. I would have a backup choice ready, just in case.

I always try to have three choices and try to not get too attached to my first choice. I am booking for friends this year, and I didn't even tell them which resorts I picked for them LOL, because I don't want them to fall in love with one and then not get it. :rotfl:

...back to the drawing board I suppose lol :) thanks again! This is our 1st trip and Were on a Value resort budget... so im guessing it will either be AsSports or POp for us :) either way were just happy to go!

So if ASMo is not included (my family had me convinced to choose that resort) and we want to stay in a value resort, which one would be a good option? I was going to choose POP but it's slightly more expensive. Any thoughts on ASMu?

I've been hearing rumours that ASMu's food court will be under refurbishment in September...not sure what your dates are, but that persuaded me to choose a different resort.

what number did you call for that? The number on the back of the card?

Disney Addict and not looking for rehab!!

I would pay the extra $10 per night and stay at Pop. JMO, of course.

love the look of ASMu but if the food court is being rehabbed aned will close it for a few months like ASSp last year that is abig negative.

we stayed at ASSp in 2009, their food court was redone last fall and when the All Stars share buses it's the first pickup and drop off.
