Disney in August (10th)

When you get there in the morning, head left into Adventureland and you'll have your run of the place. Don't forget your Dole Whip and Splash Mountain is a must (my favorite ride of all time).

You forgot about a QS lunch, Columbia Harbor House...I like it. They have fish and chicken and some really good clam chowder. Its right next to the crossover into Fantasyland from Liberty Square, just before you go under the building.

After you leave O'hana, you can watch Wishes from the beach. They even pipe in the music. There are hammocks there and its a very romantic setting. By the way, the Poly also has Dole Whips, in case you want a snack for your fireworks viewing.

Thanks for the tips!! :thumbsup2
Splash Mountain!!! OOPS!! That is definitely on my list (just forgot to mention :rolleyes1 ). And I PROMISE to have 5 or 6 Dole Whips while we're there! I love pineapple! I love ice cream! And I can't wait to have my first!!

Better, much better. Try the Dole Whip swirl with vanilla, its really really good too.

Hi Guys,

I don't post here often but I lurk on these forums about a bajillion times a day. :goodvibes

I am actually going to my first ever disney vacation Aug 10-16. Staying PORS. AND we are going to be there for my bday, which is Aug 13th :) (the big 33). AND we are going to be in Epcot for that day. :) Maybe I can join you all on this sugar crawl with my dear BF. I am hoping to post more as my trip gets closer.

I will keep an eye on this thread. :) You seem to be some fun people :)

The more the merrier!!!

As it gets closer, we can privately exchange numbers so we can text or call to say where we are, what we're wearing, all that good stuff so we can find each other.

Yum!! Can't wait!!

Yay!!! This is going to be a fun (and filling) day!! :yay:

Continuing with the schedule that my dear Disney friends are assisiting with, our plans for Aug 12 are:
Animal Kingdom (super excited cause I've NEVER been!)
- early hours, arrive at 8:00am and head straight for Safari!
- Pangani Forest Exploration Trail
- ride or get FP for EE
- breakfast at 9:30ish with Donald and friends (hubby is a big fan of Donald!)
- Maharajah Jungle Trek
- Flights of Wonder
- Go to Anandapur Tea Company for chai (I heard these were awesome and I HAVE to try one!)
- Dinosaur (get FPs earlier?)
- Finding Nemo, musical
- Walk around Oasis
- Dinner at Boma at 7:15
Again, any suggestions or words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated!! :worship: You guys are the best (and I can't wait to actually meet you all!)!

Safari is a good one to start the morning, as the animals are still awake and roaming at that time. Your breakfast is virtually right next to the safaris, so if you went all the way to EE and back, you would be doing quite a bit of running. Not sure if you can do all of those before your 9:30 or not.

When riding EE, if the line isn't long, get a fast pass AND get in line, then you get a "free" second ride.

No need for fast passes on Dinosaur and you'll love Nemo, though I thought it was sad.

You're forgetting Primeval Whirl over in Dinoland as you're coming off of Dinosaur. Its a nice quick little coaster that's not too bad (though I'm not a fan of the theming at Chester & Hesters...Walt was very much against carnival-style games).

The other ones you're forgetting is the Legend of the Lion king, Its Tough to be a Bug, and Kali River (if you're a fan of getting wet).

This park is big but there isn't a great deal to do, I usually finish in half a day. If you have time to spare, you can also jump on the train and go to Rafiki's Planet Watch, where they have Affection Section and Conservation Station.

Also, there are character meeting huts near the Lion King show where you'll meet characters in safari gear.

Enjoy yourselves...very nice park. I'll have to try that tea, as I've yet to sample it.

Hey everyone! I missed chatting with you (been super busy finishing up the last week of school/work!). But now that it's over, I can focus most of my energy on Disney planning! (minus the graduate work I have :rolleyes1). Anyway, our last full day at the World will be Aug 13 and we'll be at Epcot! I'm hoping to get most of the FW stuff done in the morning then cruise around WS the rest of the day (sugar crawl, anyone?). Anyway, here is what I had in mind:
- Extra Hours (8:00am), get a FP for Soarin (or just ride it?)
- hike over to Test Track
- Mission Space (the Green one!!)
- Spaceship Earth
- Universe of Energy (Ellen's Energy Adventure)
- Lunch at Le Cellier around 12:45
- then WS ALL afternoon (or until I pass out!)
So what do ya think? You guys have been great!! And thanks Joe for your suggestions! I am so ready for this vacation to get here!! :hyper:
P.S. Have you guys seen UP? I really want to see it but people keep complaining that it's depressing. I can see shedding a few tears here and there, but it looks hilarious!

Looks good, but you forgot to mention "the meet"...I figure we'll be over after lunch and can meet up at any time. Our dinner that night is Le Cellier so WS is perfect. And why green, no Mission Space Orange???

"The meet" is a given, ;) but you're right, it does need to be mentioned. My plan was to hopefully meet up with everone after lunch. Maybe 2ish? That's an apporpriate dessert time, eh?
I'm worried that green MS might even be too much for me. Although hubby might be able to stomach the orange! I could let him try it and tell me what he thinks!

Have you ever rode Mission Space at all?

First thing to tell you is forget everything you've heard. Most people have themselves talked into being sick before it even starts....and the sickness bags are only there because you're enclosed.

Have you ever ridden one of the rides where you stand against the wall and the floor drops and you're stuck to the wall....anything similar?

Nope, it wasn't built the last time I was there. I used to be so adventurous as a kid, but I've noticed my stomach has weakened as I've gotten older.
I've ridden a few rides like you mentioned, but again a long time ago. How 'bout I ride the green and, if I'm able to stomach it, then give the green side a shot! :thumbsup2

Good idea, ride the green, then orange...its really not that bad seriously. I wish they had a red team that was more intense than orange, I could sleep on the orange side if I wanted.

Then again, maybe I'm just strange. :confused3

Ya know, we should all hike over to Test Track, get a car all to ourselves and pose for a funny on-ride photo...always a nice thing to take home!!!

Sounds like august is going to be a blast!!

Oh no, not strange. I'm just a sissy (with a weak stomach).

:rotfl2::rotfl2: Perfect! Or like we're all about to blow chunks (sorry Joe, looks like I'm setting myself up for failure on all the rides, ha!).

Oh you'll be fine, Test Track is just a car. With our group, we'll easily get a car of our own and can have some fun with the on-ride photo!!!

No worries, I'll be at Epcot on my birthday doing crazy things like maybe riding Mission Space Orange Team 36 times in a row or who knows what.

Though I must say that I wish they would turn that ride up a bit, its really tame by my standards.

Wow! You're intense! My hubby and I were watching a show about Disney World and he was worried about TOT! I told him that the show made it look much worse than it actually was. So maybe that's how I need to feel about Mission Space...
