Thanks Dyan...

I love Disney..but I think scrapping it always would burn me out...and if I could ever make a dent into the every day...then.... wow! wouldn't that be a nice visual..full and nearly caught up books! ;)

It was just a suggestion. *shrug*

It was just a suggestion. *shrug*

 It was a good one.

We are just a bunch who really need motivation to scrap other aspects of our lives. My entry was the first time I made ANY page this year.

I understand it was a suggestion! I was just commenting to that I would prefer it to be open because I have other things to scrap.....nothing more.. wasn't trying to start a fight with anyone.. just giving my suggestion out there!

So, Buffy, did you get up at sunny dark? How about those doo-dads?? Only 9 1/2 hours until the deadline:):).

here is what the journaling reads
"September 11, 2002"
" I will always remember where we were and what we were doing on September 11, 2001, when 9/11 went from being just another date to a phrase that needs no explanation. It was like the day stood still! I was in North Carolina visiting with my parents and sharing the wonderful news that I was pregnant with you. NAna and Papa went to work that morning and Auntie Sue took me to the airport to head home back to your Dad. Alone on the plane - I sat next to this nice lady and began to read my new preganacy book. We hadn't been in the air for very long when the pilot told everyone to put on their seat bealts for an imediate emergency landing. We landed in Ohio Everyone was in a panic. We found out thaqt two planes had flown into the World Trade Towers and that we were in th flight pattern for the plane that crashed in rutal Pennsylvania. I was alone, scared and began to wonder how i would get home. I made friends with the lady who was sitting next to me on the plane and we stuck together. She worked fo rGeneral Motors and her boss was driving from a confrence to come and get her and take her back to North Carolina. She offered to take me back to Charlotte. My mother who always told me to never take a ride from strangers - told me to get in the car andgo with her! They were so nice to me. We listened to the broad casts and spoke about our disbeliefs that this could happen, we stopped for dinner and they wouldnt let me pay for anything - they even let me use thier cell phones to call your day and my family - I didnt find out until later that this was the man who played an important role in inventing the "on-star system" for general motors. I guess it takes a tragedy to trust people this much and be open to the indness of strangers. For the next few days we over doesed on the news footage and watched the rescue attempts being made. Your father drove down to NC as soon as the highways opened. We stayed with my mother a few more days until we drove home. Having a better apresheation for family, friends and strangers. In all 3,056 people died that day more than the number who died in the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor and the highest one-day death toll on American Soil since the Civil War. Now a year later and we have more to be thankful of - YOU!

what do yo think?
jennifer

Oh, my gosh, what a story. I can't even imagine how scary that must have been for you! Definitely an important story for your son's book.

What a story. It still amazes me how everyone was touched in some way or another by the events on 9/11.

PERFECT!! MADE me CRY!!!! :)
That will be so great for your son!!!!!

You know, I may do something similar.... My kids and I discussed things yesterday.. My DD gets very emotional...she was a 2nd grader but now being in HS she is understanding what and how this changed our future..DS7 was only 11 months at the time....but he remembers the stories we told of how we found out, where we were, what we were doing... MY DH was travelling (by car) and was due to be out of town... he immediately called and told me he was coming home... Then my brother who was in the Navy called and asked me what the he** was going on... I had no idea.. I could only relay what they said on TV... (thank you to Matt Lauer for being there for me)... anyway, then the alert went out on brother's base..and he had to go... the next phone call.. I could hear planes leaving the airbase and him tellin' me there are papers in the mail.. you are to take care of everything for me...

Jennifer, that is the best.. I would NOT change a thing, add a thing... and thank gosh for the strangers that became friends that day... even if it was only for that day...

It is always amazing to me how different everyone's stories are. I was living three blocks from the White House on the fateful day. And as such, I got a take on the day that is very unique. Watching tanks roll down the streets of Washington is something I hope I never see again. I never really thought about the people on the other planes that were in the air. You too have an interesting story to tell.

Oh and my page...I finished it this morning. I was actually late for work since I need to do my "homework" for you guys! You can see the glue is still wet on one!

They did not turn out great in the photos since I didn't take a lot of time placing them in the right light, as I was late for work and I hadn't walked the dog yet. :scared:
