**June 2024 Check-in**

First trip to California and Disneyland. We are flying from Philadelphia into LAX non-stop.

Does anyone have an idea what the weather is like towards the end of June? Living on the east coast, I'm used to hot and humid weather with shorts and tank tops in June. I hear it might be cooler there but are we talking pants/jeans cooler or wear shorts and just bring a jacket for the evening?
I live in the south east and we went the first week of June last year and it was amazing. We wore shorts or leggings and Ts with a sweatshirt in the morning and evening. We are going later in June this year so I figure it will be hotter, but even with the heat, we didn't have to deal with humidity that we normally do in the south. The lack of humidity is A+.

Agreed on the lack of humidity. I still get hot/sweaty at Disneyland (especially in late summer/Fall.) But it isn't a stifling heat like in the summer in the midwest where I live. Or worse, in Florida. We refuse to ever go to WDW in the summer.

Any advice on this? We are now toying with possibly hopping over to Universal on our last day, which is our travel day. It doesn’t make much sense to Uber from Anaheim to USH then back to our hotel to grab our bags and head back to LAX…seems it would be like $150 round trip maybe more. Universal Orlando holds suitcases for you at Lost and Found but it seems Hollywood only has lockers but we only travel with full size suitcases.

Anyone see a different way or alternate to this? I see there’s some “suitcase drop off” places in Hollywood, has anyone ever used those? If not, we will just go back to doing things around Disneyland but I really wanted to see the 60th studio tour stuff and my beloved Waterworld.

The only thing I could of would be to hire a car in Anaheim, drive to Universal, use the car to store the bags, then drive to LAX and then return the car at LAX.

Thats the thing with LA compared to Orlando. Universal is in Burbank, and Disney in Anaheim and the distance and travel time between the two is huge.

Most people dont stay in Anaheim and visit Universal, people do a 2 location trip, due to the distance.

We are making our very first trip to Disneyland EVER June 17-21. We are yearly WDW regulars but have never made it out to DL. I am SO excited. We're actually flying into Sacramento and doing a few days at Yosemite National Park and then driving down to DL and flying home out of LAX.

We're staying at GC b/c this is a "go big" trip for us. We have 3-day park hoppers with Genie+. I'm hoping to get in every single ride once and then hit our favorites a 2nd time. My 12yo is all about the rides and my 4yo is in her Princess era so I booked BBB :) She's also going to juuuust be 40inches so I'm thrilled that she can get on Big Thunder, Soarin, etc.

I have a few ADR reservations (got Trader Sam's) but we are more of "eat on the go quick service" family.

I really really want to catch some of the nighttime shows. My disney MO is to be up at the crack of dawn rope dropping so historically we've had a hard time making it to fireworks. But I really want to! I figure at least I can catch WoC from the Grand balcony with the music piped in?

Any recs for where to rent a stroller at DL? I like the services that drop them at your hotel at WDW but not sure what the equivalent is at DL..? Also is there a good grocery delivery service for bottled water, etc?

Any and all tips for this newbie DL family would be appreciated :)

Also, hello! First time posting :)

Which dates will you be at the GC? I can add you to the first post of the thread if you'd like.

Not sure on stroller rental or grocery delivery so hopefully someone else will chime in!

ScooterBug is the official external stroller rental vendor for the DLR hotels. We have used them before when staying on site and it was a smooth experience. They drop off at the hotel, whether you are there or not, bell services holds the stroller, then you drop the stroller off at bell services when your trip is over. The prices are competitive. It is a very easy and seamless experience.

Thank you! I will check out StrollerBug!!

We are at GC June 17-21.

Also, anyone have any insight to how Pride Nite might affect daytime crowds?? 2 of our 3 park days fall on the Pride Nite dates and I don't know what to expect - will the parks be quieter during the day? more busy? At WDW, MK is usually pretty quiet when there's a party at night but not sure what to expect at DL.

I've never been during Pride nights. But we were in the parks for Sweetheart night in 2023. The crowds didn't seem any worse than usual during the day. But they did start to pick up when they started letting ticket holders in a few hours before the party.

I'm there 6/9/13. Two of my days are Grad nights and I'm wondering if I should change my park reservation for one of them. The first 2 days I booked the park without early entry. I'm wondering how Grad night impacts DCA in the mornings? I'm wondering if I should flip my starting park on a couple of days. I do have a hopper.

We had two of our days last trip that were Grad Nites. We stayed at The Anaheim Hotel which is right across the street from the entrance for Grad Nite (behind Guardians). The crowds were actually pretty low our entire trip (it was the first week in June), it was just the type of crowd that was annoying. Giant packs of teens. Everywhere 😂 Most were fine but the ones who weren't...they stood out. I teach 2nd grade and it was like a lot of huge 2nd graders had been let loose. So just be aware! I would start at DCA on Grad Nites because you will want to clear out closer to their party start. The groups that have hoppers can/will stay in DL under midnight and then hop to DCA for the rest of their party. But most of the grads seemed to arrive midday. There weren't really at groups rope drop. The crowds only picked up in the evening closer to party time. I was worried about it but it didn't really change much!

We have had different weather here this year. I hope June will be warmer but we have had more rain and a little cooler. We haven't lived here long but every year is different.

I assume you're talking about in Anaheim. It's been cooler lately? I hope that doesn't mean it will be a sudden heat wave when I arrive. That has happened on a few of our trips over the years. In late September 2010 we were there and it reached around 110-115. Awful.

Meeting my sister and niece on their way back from Hawaii for June 7-10 (yep, sweet weekend, 2 Grad Nites and no discounts 😅). I live in SD and plan to arrive at the crack of dawn on Friday, and then be back home for work at least 1/2 day Monday. Staying at GCH, splashed out on CL (we used discounted Disney GC, at least), we wanted a peaceful retreat when things get busy with the grads!! My sister/niece arrive later on Friday, so I’ll be rolling solo that day and snagged a Napa Rose chef’s table seating that evening, which I was thrilled about! I am a WDW vet but know jack-all about DL, so I’m trying to study up on G+ and MEP tiers!!!!

It depends. The weather is variable like anywhere else. As the previous poster noted, it could be hot or it could be cooler. It will absolutely be warm during the day though. The hottest time of year in SoCal is actually late summer and fall.

It is common throughout June for there to be a marine layer or fog in the mornings, burning off late morning and the sun comes out. Temps maybe starting out in the 60s and rising to the 80s. It could also not be foggy and rise to the 90s.

Bring layers. You might need a light jacket in the morning and evening. I typically dress in shorts and a t-shirt with light jacket during summer. No jacket if the day does not start out foggy.

A couple of weather certainties for June. It is not humid at all compared to the east coast (some people on here claim it gets humid on rare occasions, but it is not at all humid compared to Philly and you won't notice it). It also will not rain in late June. You will tolerate the heat well coming from the east coast. It's also a huge relief to not worry about rain.

Best advice - check the temps as you get within a week. Also, plan to see fireworks on your first night to have multiple chances to see them. They get cancelled frequently due to winds at higher elevations. You don't want to wait until your last night only to find out they're cancelled. Cancellation due to wind is not an issue with Fantasmic or World of Color.
I agree.

Anyone interested in a Trader Sam's reservation for Saturday the 22nd at 3:05pm? I accidentally became a hoarder of Trader Sam's reservations in an attempt to get one that worked with our other plans. 😅 If anyone wants to try to grab it when I drop it, we can coordinate a time!
