Unfortunately, more often than not lately, the DING for MCO has been to other Florida markets. You do see other cities occasionally (Raleigh-Durham, Corpus Christi, come to mind). If you look back through this thread, especially at this year's posts, DING has been mostly Florida to Florida. I also rarely get DINGs for my "home" airport, Louisville.

When DING was introduced, it was a way to get people in seats that would otherwise not be sold. It has definitely become a way that SWA really does just that. If you need a seat on a plane, book it when you see a fare you can live with and then watch and see if a DING comes up. Definitely don't depend on the DING. Honestly, I haven't seen an MCO-Philly DING in a very long time, so I would book something now. As much as SWA has consolidated their flights, those planes are filling up quicker and they don't need DING.

It wouldn't surprise me if DING went away entirely eventually.

Thank you very much - you've cleared it up for me and I know what I'm going to do which is just book for what I see now and pray SW goes down some and take the credit. I mean the flights are only $111.00 each way for the holiday season so that's really pretty good!
