Disney's Club Level (CL) Information & Questions

I HAD A HORRIBLE DREAM!!!!

So we are 52 days out from our first ever stay at CR Atrium club. I had a dream we checked in downstairs and no one came to escort us upstairs. The CM gave us a room on the 4th floor . So I asked for the manager and they “found” a club level room on the 14th floor. While we were waiting my daughter grabbed 2 small bags of chips and began to watch tv in the lobby. Some random guest came and took her chips and kept walking. Not even sure why that happened. So we go to our room and I visit the lounge for a beer. I get there and they have this old school 70’s fridge with a ripped open bud light 12 pack inside. I then woke up. I’m way too anxious.

THIS WAS A DREAM!!!! I am just nervous.

Hi there. Poly CL does not have bottled water available, just a container of filtered water out in the lounge to fill cups. However, CMs are happy to fill any personal containers with filtered water from the back, feel free to ask. They generally don’t want you to fill your own from what’s in the lounge for spigot/hygiene concerns.

Hope you enjoy Poly CL!

ETA: If I’m on a longer trip, I usually buy the multi-packs of Dasani water from the Poly store. $3.99 for an 8-pack of 12 oz bottles.

When we were there 2 weeks ago, there was perrier water available upon request. You would have to transfer the water, however, as glass bottles are not permitted past security.

It's not a Disney trip until I have that dream prior. Somehow I always do at least once.

Well I've completly contradicted everything I said about the YC and have just changed our Christmas reservation from the WL to here. After reading a few posts about the 'club level access' I wasn't feeling particularly confident about the WL. We love staying around the Boardwalk at Christmas and truth be told I'd been secretly yearning to go back to the BWI. I priced a standard view club level room and it came in at only $67 more than what we were paying for the WL with our AP discount for the first few days. I've spoken to the YC who have assured me that dogs are so far not being allowed on the club level floor and as my DS and DH keep reminding me, service dogs have always been allowed in Disney hotels. I've always loved the YC and feel so hypocritical after saying that I wouldn't stay here as long as the policy was in place yet now I'm so excited to be returning in a few weeks.

I hope you have a great trip :wizard:.

Funny how those dreams creep up right before a trip. I've woken up in a panic before thinking we're late for our flight, then realize it was just a dream and I can breath again....lol. I've also had the dream of arriving at the airport only to realize we don't have any luggage :scared1: .

Not even going to begin to touch the other parts of your dream...but the one bright spot is they gave you a room on the 14th FLOOR!! That would be a nice upgrade if it happened! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

Good morning my friends, I know there has been discussions on DSS securing FP, pardon my repeat but I'm looking for recent experiences. We have the *fortunate* problem of being at Las Vegas to celebrate my youngest daughter turning 21, the week that our FP window opens. Along with the time change, and my health issues which I've bored you all about enough, waking at 4 am local time to secure FP, actually being able to sleep again and then go on a planned excursion at 7 am that day....well it's really not setting me up for a grand day for my Grand helicopter tour over the Grand Canyon! Seriously, how did I get so lucky!

Anyhow....I've decided to let DSS make our FP as the earliest I couldn't get to them would be about 10:30 EST and they will have been at work 90 mins already. We are planning on AK on our fifth day after arrival, but fourth park day. Does the window open according to when we check in, even if we aren't going to a park that day? We have a 6 day hopper for a 7 day split stay (last night at GF non CL)

So here are my specific questions -- with AK being further into our stay, likelihood of DSS securities FOP? I will keep checking of course if they can't get it

the day we check out and head to GF,our adult children will be arriving and 5 of us going to MK. Can DSS make FP for all of us since we are checking out of YC that day? I realize the technical answer is they can only for registered CL guests, but any ideas of if they would if all our MDE are linked and have tickets uploaded on FP window day?

FYI our FP window date is 12/27/17 for an arrival date of 2/25/18; touring plans crowd calculator that week is a 5. It is the week following the Princess half-marathon. I have a touringplans.com subscription so I can include our rough plan for DSS for making FP; most importantly scheduled break back to the hotel during the day

Thanks everyone! I feel like this is a very needy post......I appreciate your time!

Hi there! Unfortunately, I think the amount of folks around here that have actually used DSS for FPs is pretty low so I’m a bit worried you’re not going to get many quality responses. My impression is that while some of us are willing to let them do ADRs, FPs are a whole different animal and many (most?) of us have a hard time giving those up. Heck, I won’t even let my wife make our FPs. :rolleyes1:rolleyes1:rolleyes1

You have a couple of things going for you though... your week is probably a relatively good one crowd wise and the fact that your AK day is five days in certainly helps.

I can’t personally vouch for how they will handle the YC check-out/new people added issue, but I suspect they’ll make those FPs if you ask.

Please let us know how it goes... I’m curious to hear how it works out.

GOOD LUCK!

I’m interested in ideas on what is appreciated for gifts for club level cast members. Since I come from a place that has gourmet jerky, popcorn, and chocolate, I was thinking of bringing a couple of gift bags and dropping them off in the beginning and middle of our stay. These items are very nice and factory sealed... not like a homemade gift basket. I recently was told All food items, even factory sealed, are thrown out by Disney cast members. Since cash isn’t an option for club level staff... what do you do?

Maybe I’m in the minority here and/or a cheap CL guest and don’t even know it, but we haven’t typically tipped/given gifts. Perhaps I’m wrong in my view, but I suspect the large majority of CL guests do not as well.

Personally I have had times where I felt I wanted to, but to me there are awkward practical implications to this. Any given CL service has 3-4 CMs working, plus usually a chef, plus there are the ones at the desks. You could run across a dozen or more CMs over a stay. There are certain CMs that I’ve really enjoyed getting to know and that provide excellent service, but how do I reward that? Selectively give something to certain CMs and not others? Give them something and ask them to ‘share in the back’?

So, in lieu of tips/gifts I just write down CM names and then send a note to guest services afterwards. ‘Hopefully’ that eventually makes it back to CMs in some positive way.

Obviously a very subjective/personal subject for sure so really no right/wrong answers.

Sorry that’s a bit of a non-answer to your question.

I have never brought a gift for any CL staff. Your post makes it seem like you think this is customary. I don't think it is.

Bethany, sorry to hear about your mom. Go the first week of December. Jim and I always go then to celebrate my birthday.
I think that's what we'll probably do! Just trying to figure out which resort will be best; probably something on the monorail as her mobility has gotten limited.

Any further word on the WL CL construction/ refurb rumors? I have a stay booked there for early December 2018 (am now under 30 days until my Sugarloaf stay this year!!!!!!!), but will certainly want to cancel if there's construction and we won't be on the CL floor. THANKS IN ADVANCE! :daisy:

When I started that discussion it was my impression that this would just be a soft refurb, so no major construction. I doubt they would do major construction considering they just went through the major renovation. So probably just freshening up the rooms a bit, which it seems a lot of people have been saying is needed (I dont know since we are not staying until April). I only had noticed that April and May 2018 were unavailable for CL, but after that it is available. Of course those tiimetables can change. And this is just speculation.

Magic Bands just arrived!!! :cool1:

Just received the rest of my kids surprises for the trip and packed them!

Down to 22 DAYS!!!:woohoo:
Can't wait to get to the GF!!!! :cloud9:

The time will go fast and you will be arriving at the GF before you know it! :cheer2::banana::bounce::jumping1:

We returned last Friday night from a wonderful week at WL CL (exceptional staff, variety of food selections and excellent transportation eOddly when I went online to make the change I immediately noticed that rather than "Club Level" the Disney website said "Club Level Access" for standard rooms.....hmm, that's new.

Gee I get busy at work for a few days and totally miss huge news on this board!!! I thought our room was in decent shape, but I agree on some lighting upgrades. Do you all think they will mimic that style in the new DVC? I found that a little bland for the lodge, maybe they are just going to ditch the carpeting and match the hallways to the DVC side? hmmmmm.... I guess now I am less bummed about not doing a spring trip/quick getaway.

I HAD A HORRIBLE DREAM!!!!

THIS WAS A DREAM!!!! I am just nervous.
This is me, every single trip!!!! I am always packing to leave, but can never finish and get going on time.

@GADisneyDad14...did you ever post a pic of the inside of the refrigerators in the Hawaii rooms? Sorry I didn't dig through all of your great pictures to look for it but I can if you think it's there.
