Girls Trip Take 2 - Labor Day Weekend 2021 and Christmas 2021 Trip

Hopefully someone chose Disney!

Everyone but Michelle and she was very torn.

<sigh>
I miss that. Even the leaving part.

Me too! We didn't know how good we had it.

well-done.gif

Thank you, thank you very much!

I wouldn't say nervous. Excited? With anticipation?

I would all of the above, but I really didn't want to get lost and be late.

So... gonna assume... butter, strawberry jam and... is that chocolate??

More like Nutella.

Donald Duck nuiMOI have never had Mickey waffles.

Why ever not? Do you not like waffles especially when they're Mickey shaped?

What is that??
Donald Duck nuiMO
Cute shot of the ladies. :)

Thank you! They do look cute.

How was the quiche? Sounds good.

She said it was good.

Very nice shot of you! :)

Thank you!

You're not that much farther away from the ceiling!

I'm usually looking my level or the ground. I have to remind myself to look up and see what taller people see.

Everyone but Michelle and she was very torn.
I bet!
I would all of the above, but I really didn't want to get lost and be late.
There’s no getting lost in Disney.
More like Nutella.
Ah!
Why ever not? Do you not like waffles especially when they're Mickey shaped?
Not a big waffle fan. Or pancakes.
I'm usually looking my level or the ground. I have to remind myself to look up and see what taller people see.
Taller people aren’t looking straight up either!

Toppolino’s was the perfect way to start the day. I feel more than a wee bit sorry for Michelle even though I know she was keen to get back to JP. Sometimes being a mum is hard.
Food and characters and mosaics all look great but those views are awesome 😍

Michelle was flying home and using Magical Express to get to the airport. She was originally booked on Southwest but due to the New Orleans airport not being open yet she booked a flight on American and flew back to Baton Rouge.
I miss Magical Express! Even when it was time to leave, you still had a little bit of Disney.
We were all up really early. I made my very first successful boarding pass for ROTR for Leah and I at 7 am. Danielle is the one who usually makes it for us. I was quite proud of myself.
I would be proud too! Getting those boarding groups is stressful!
Is anyone else nervous the first time you go to a new to you resort for a new to you restaurant? I was really nervous trying to find my way around. I do not remember what I saw after we entered the resort. I was just looking for signage to get to Topolino's. We found the elevator and went up. Once we found the restaurant we checked in waited just a little to be taken to our table. We were still under COVID protocols so the tables were spaced apart. The character were there but not allowed to take photos with us, they stood behind us and at a distance. The was an improvement over our meal at CRT the previous year. Cinderella did not enter the dining area at all but stood well away from everyone.
I do not miss Covid days at all....
We sent Michelle a picture of our pastries and she sent us back a picture of her breakfast of Mickey waffles. Did you even go to Disney if you didn't have Mickey waffles?
Nope! Love mIckey waffles!
After breakfast we were invited to go out on the balcony to enjoy the view. I took several photos and them some photos on our way out. We were all very full and waddled out. Danielle headed to the parking lot while Leah and I headed to DHS on the Skyliner. I think this was her first flight but she did okay.
Looks like a fabulous breakfast!
One of my goals was to see the mosaics. They did not disappoint.
I love those mosaics so much, especially the Peter Pan one.

Tuesday, September 7, 2021-DHS Fun
Leah and I made it to the DHS park entrance at 9:42 a.m.. Not too bad for having breakfast first.

It was another beautiful morning.

My original plan was just to spend the first part of the day in the park and then leave so we could rest up for the Boo Bash later that night. Did our day go as planned? If you guessed no, than you would be right. I have a real problem with wanting to show someone new as much as possible. We just couldn't miss our ROTR boarding pass and we had a 3:50 ADR at Olga's.

Our first stop was to introduce Leah to Bo. What's a trip to DHS without a stop to meet Bo?
1700537670103.png
We stopped for some PP pictures too.
1700537732849.png
It was now time for some rides. This was before Genie + so anything we rode was done with lines.
Our first stop was Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway. This was a first for Leah and although I really miss The Great Movie Ride, I do enjoy MMRR. We waiting 20 minutes to ride.
1700538108041.png
We headed to Toy Story Land next to check it out.
1700538224880.png
Our first ride was Toy Story Mania. The posted wait was 40 minutes.
1700538382980.png
We were done in less than 30, so not too bad.
Slinky dog was our next ride to tackle. The wait was posted at 60 minutes. We waited about 35.
1700538578136.png

After riding Slinky Dog we were ready to get out of the sun and into some AC. Frozen was the perfect place to do this. The Historians really make this show. I have some good shows and some great ones. I love that some of the jokes are the same but they also update the show to whatever is happening right now.

1700538715224.png

It was after 1 when we got out. We weren't hungry but I needed a snack and some caffeine. We made our way to the Trolley Café so I could get my Carrot Cake cookie and Green Tea. I love this cookie!
1700538828776.png
I enjoyed my treat and then was ready to ride my favorite ride TOT. Leah wasn't feeling it. I think we had already exhausted her thrill ride tolerance. I parked her in Beauty and the Beast while I prepared to ride TOT by myself. I've done this before and have no problem doing it again.

Continued in next post . . .

One of the benefits of waiting in line to ride is seeing some of the details and enjoying the atmosphere. Look at this beautiful Bird of Paradise. You just don't see this in the LL line.
1700539386073.png
I enjoyed my ride and took my time exiting. When I walked out I saw Goofy greeting guests.

1700539537471.png
1700539563634.png
Leah was still in Beauty and the Beast, so I made my way to her and enjoyed the rest of the show.
1700539635677.png

We left Sunset Blvd behind and made our way to Muppet-Vision. I have a real soft spot for the Muppets. When the original Muppet Show came on I always made a point to watch it. Danielle doesn't like the 3D or 4D shows so I have to try and do them when she's not with me. Leah is so easy going that she was willing to anything, except for thrill rides at this point. I can't promise that I stay awake for the whole show, but I do enjoy what I see.

1700539831522.png
This whole area seems so remote now. I miss it being a more "happening" area like it was before they tore down the Streets of America.
It was after 3 and we were finally ready to get some lunch. We ate at the ABC Commissary. I had the Buffalo Chicken grilled cheese with the salad. I don't remember it being great but it was okay. I wanted something light after our big breakfast. We also needed to eat since there wouldn't be many options for real food at the Boo Bash. I also got the Carmel Apple Tart, which was a fall/Halloween dessert. I do remember enjoying this but was not able to finish it all.

Our Adventures in Galaxy Edge will be up next.

Did our day go as planned? If you guessed no, than you would be right.
They seldom do. :)
I have a real problem with wanting to show someone new as much as possible.
 I totally understand!
Our first stop was to introduce Leah to Bo. What's a trip to DHS without a stop to meet Bo?
I've never quite understood the attraction... but he sure seems popular with the ladies!
although I really miss The Great Movie Ride, I do enjoy MMRR.
My sentiments. ::yes::
Frozen was the perfect place to do this. The Historians really make this show.
::yes::
Carrot Cake cookie and Green Tea. I love this cookie!
Still haven't had that cookie.
Then again, I'm not a huge cream cheese fan. And I can take or leave carrot cake anyways.
I enjoyed my treat and then was ready to ride my favorite ride TOT. Leah wasn't feeling it. I think we had already exhausted her thrill ride tolerance.
Oh dear.
Look at this beautiful Bird of Paradise. You just don't see this in the LL line.
Nice. And you don't see that often anywhere.
I don't think I've noticed this mural/painting before. Too focused on the suitcases, maybe?
I can't promise that I stay awake for the whole show, but I do enjoy what I see.
Awww... :)
This whole area seems so remote now.
Agreed.
I had the Buffalo Chicken grilled cheese with the salad. I don't remember it being great but it was okay.
Next time try the grilled cheese at Woody's Lunch Box.
Pretty dessert.

It's hard not to want to do all the things, especially with limited park time!

I love the Historians and their humour. They are so funny with the subtle references only an adult would get. I love it!

My fave cookie!

I love ToT so much!

There really is beautiful theming in the stand by lines. Disney does a great job of this.
I can't promise that I stay awake for the whole show, but I do enjoy what I see.
Sometimes a girl just needs a little shut eye.....💤💤

Hearing how Slinky Dog was only a 35 minute wait does make me wish they would do away with Genie. That attraction is never under 50 usually!

The details around TOT are wonderful. Glad you were able to take your time and soak up as much as you wanted. The benefit of going on something solo.

I agree about that area around Muppets being very barren. Seemed like a completely different area back when Streets of America were around!

I've never quite understood the attraction... but he sure seems popular with the ladies!

I'm not sure why he became so popular but he it the first attraction as you enter the park.

Still haven't had that cookie.
Then again, I'm not a huge cream cheese fan. And I can take or leave carrot cake anyways.

It might not be the right cookie for you if you don't really like carrot cake or cream cheese and that's ok.

Nice. And you don't see that often anywhere.

That's what I was thinking when I saw it.

I don't think I've noticed this mural/painting before. Too focused on the suitcases, maybe?

I think this was the first time I really saw it too. It's in the area where pictures were purchased. It's an area that is obsolete now.

Next time try the grilled cheese at Woody's Lunch Box.

I have had a taste of Danielle before and it is good.

Pretty dessert.

I think so too.

It's hard not to want to do all the things, especially with limited park time!
And that's why we keep coming back.

I love the Historians and their humour. They are so funny with the subtle references only an adult would get. I love it!

It's not a show just for kids.

My fave cookie!

Me too!!
I love ToT so much!

Another love we have in common.

Sometimes a girl just needs a little shut eye.....💤💤

You get me so well.

Hearing how Slinky Dog was only a 35 minute wait does make me wish they would do away with Genie. That attraction is never under 50 usually!

Genie + has really made the stand by lines longer just like Fast Pass did.

The details around TOT are wonderful. Glad you were able to take your time and soak up as much as you wanted. The benefit of going on something solo.

I have found that I really like solo time in Disney and this is one of the reasons.

I agree about that area around Muppets being very barren. Seemed like a completely different area back when Streets of America were around!

It 's so sad. I don't like change. Most people just rush by the area on their way to GE. The landscape of this park has changed so much since I first saw it in 1999.

What a wonderful morning in DHS!
I have really grown to like ToT, Andi and I avoided for many years and once we rode it, loved it!
I love the Muppet area and yes you are right it is rather sad now. The QS restaurant in that area could be so much more!
Muppets is a favorite attraction of ours!
