Disney’s Magic Band FAQ Link

Ordered magic bands from MDE for an upcoming trip, and when placed, it said they would ship within 10 business days. That would mean if they ship by day 10, I wouldn't get them in time for the trip.

What happens if I don't receive them before the trip, when they are supposed arrive before the trip according to when the order is placed?

Technically that is on Disney since they shipped it, instead of just going straight to the hotel.

Do they help?

We usually order our bands well in advance of the trip. They usually get here (South East PA) in about 7-10 days after ordering. (of course the initial rush of MB+ orders July 2022 was an exception)

Are you sure its being shipped to you and not your resort?

For my last minute Dec 2-7, 2022 trip, I ordered my band on Nov 23. The order did say it would be shipped to my resort for pickup at the front desk. My "Thank you for your order" email also stated this. When I arrived, I walked down to the desk when I had a chance and got it.

IF they are shipping to your home, when they ship, you will get a tracking number either via email or messages on the My Disney Experience WEB SITE (or both). You can track the package with USPS web site. IF it looks like they wont arrive before you leave, call Disney's general line (407) 939-5277 Or My Disney+ support at (407) 939-4357, explain the situation and

Yes, it says being shipped to my house cause I was 1 day before the ship to resort deadline

Are you doing it on your phone? or via PC and visiting-> https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/plan/bands-cards/
From my phone. I ended up calling and found out why it wasn’t going to a purchase option. I have a 2 yo who wasn’t getting a magic band, and I had to go on and decline a band for her, then it gave me the option to purchase once everyone in the party had a band picked out or declined.

Interesting. I just noticed our trip, which is 38 days to check in, says we have "31 days to complete the order" Yeah, 7 days is cutting it really close! (Don't know if we'll order any for this trip, we were just there in October, and I was in December, so we have current MB+ bands, as well as having bands from past trips... plus none of the designs really stand out as "must add to our collection")

Yeah, so I would keep monitoring your email (email subject: "Your Magic Bands are on the way" from shop@disneyparks.com), and the notifications area of the MDE WEB SITE for the shipping notice with tracking number. If the delivery estimate is on/after you start travel, call those numbers and see what Disney can/will do. OR don't wait, just call them now with the order number (you should have got an email Subject: "Thank You for Your Order!" from shop@disneyparks.com ) and see what they say.

NOTE: email subject and sender I'm suggesting are from bands we had ordered since July 2022 for our October, December, and an August 2023 trip that has since been cancelled. It could change (for prior trips, the emails were different)

So I have read through a bunch of this thread and what I am confused about is the references to $9.99 MBs. I have a new reservation for the Swan for a June 22 stay and never got any email telling me to order MBs. Is that not a thing because it is the Swan or do I need to call them up and ask for a link to get cheaper MBs. I went into app and clicked link to buy MB's and the cheapest one I saw was $33. I have old active MB's from 2018 and know I can use them for most things - but was thinking of getting a fresh one for this trip so I didnt have to be concerned about missing on ride photos. I know my phone should pick up photos but one less thing to worry about with new bands if I can get them for $10 (but not going to pay 33 a band).

The Swan and Dolphin are not Disney owned hotels.

My understanding was Swan and Dolphin doesn't get pre-arrival discount MagicBands, nor do the resorts use them.

Did that change?

What app/link did you use to try and buy? Did it take you to Shop Disney possibly? If so you are seeing the regular retail offering MB+ and Graphic MB2.0 bands. You might be able to find some cheaper (around $20 each) solid color bands when on site.

Thanks Mike. When I stayed at the swan last time (back before covid) I think we got the “free” magic bands which is why I assumed we could buy the cheap pre arrival magic bands this time.

Apologies if this has already been posted somewhere, but is there an overview of all the MagicBands currently available in the parks? I am located outside the US, and the selection shown on the official ShopDisney site seems a bit limited.

Doesn't look like its going to arrive in time. What number do I call about this? Since it wasn't ordered from shopdisney, and ordered from the main magic band resort arrival page on MDE

I have not seen one. At least Disney doesn't have one.

That being said, you could visit https://www.magicbandcollectors.com/ its a listing of bands as they are released. Unfortunately they don't keep track of in-park availability.

Try Disney's general line (407) 939-5277 Or My Disney+ support at (407) 939-4357

Should I expect to charge our MB+ every night we are there? May need a second power strip for device charging ;)

I'm also in the "I ordered through MDE and my bands still haven't arrived" boat. I was told by Disney, after being transferred around, that the 3rd party shipper is holding things up and it is "out of their control". We are waiting to see if they show up, we leave in a week. But the tracking number shows they're still sitting at the 3rd party shipper.

If anyone else has this issue, you have to call MDE if you ordered through them. 1-800-328-0327

Expect to, but you might not have to.

They only take about an hour or so to fully charge. So....

Depending how long it takes your family to get ready, you can put them on the charger in the morning while you are getting ready.

If you carry a power bank into the parks, charge your bands when you stop to eat.

This shipping issue is what is got me worried about purchasing MB+ through our Disney Cruise. We are doing a WDW visit before going on a cruise in August. But you can't order until 45 days before cruise, I think?
We leave for Orlando for the WDW part a week before cruise.
If they ship right when I order at 45 days it should be ok. Unless they have "supply chain issues"with the cruise bands. And then I think I should just order the MB + from the Disney Store and be done with it.

Until they came out with the Disneyband/ MB + for the cruise, I wasn't even going to get the MB+, I was looking for MB2.

It's not a huge issue in the end, but I'm the kind of person who would have bought already, and linked and have them sitting in the suitcase, so I don't leave them when we leave, LOL

I need to keep repeating, " It's not until August"

I'm hoping to carry a power bank but not too many extra cords. I'll probably bring one each for the phones and bands.

This is our 4th or 5th trip with MB's. We have never had an issue getting them on time until this trip. They issued me a refund today which I get is to make it right, except I can't even go in and re-order to have them at the resort now. We've lost the ability to get the ones you can only purchase before arrival as well as the discount for purchasing in advance. It's not a great start to our upcoming trip.

We each have multiport wall chargers that we plug in at the resort to charge all our stuff. We don't need power strips, and such, but it is a mess. Oh and most resorts DO have USB ports (but they are only 5v/2A so really slow charging but good enough for the bands) in addition to AC wall sockets.

But in the parks, my wife, our son and I each carry our own bag with power bank and cords so we don't have to fight over who gets to charge what in the parks.
