450?!
My wife would murder me lol.
Do you find yourself using them all or do you rent them? I have thought about buying more direct if I end up liking this as much as I think I will, but we are a pretty mobile family (we live in Japan half the year) and cannot always commit to going to Disney. But I enjoyed AKL so much I broke down and bought in at OKW because it was the cheapest. If it ends up working out I have thought about buying various point amounts direct to get some of the perks and be able to get first dibs and some of the more premium places. Did you buy in direct or resale?
Lol, well we like to bring folks with us and get 1BR or 2BR villas. We're in our early-mid 30s and bring my parents and younger siblings or bring DH's parents, or bring friends, for a week a year. Plus a weekend trip for
MNSSHP.
The thinking was, we'll have the points we need for when we have children (should only be a couple of years now). At first we'll still bring one of our parents but eventually the kids will get older and we'll want to spread out. So we'll be set.
Points are direct but have nothing against resale. We bought Riviera in 2019, at the time paid 165 per point after incentives for 250 pts. It's just the resort we wanted, we love the Skyliner and the artwork. A year later we added on SSR resale, used those points to try out many resorts, and fell in love with BLT.
Earlier this year, DVC had a fire sale on BLT points direct and we jumped on it, and sold SSR to pay for most of it. We churn CCs and it's nice that one can pay direct with a CC. With direct, you also can get the previous year's points and we rented those out to bridge the delta between resale and direct prices. So that's our DVC journey in a nutshell
Next year will probably buy a small contract at
Disneyland and that will probably be it. That will take some convincing with DH so I don't think I can push it anymore after that haha
