Disney's BOARDWALK INN Information & Questions

Somethings up with the menu, the list of ice cream flavors available as a scoop at the bottom must be wrong, there are more listed above that you could choose from to put in a sundae, including some staples like vanilla and chocolate!

On the App it says only Contemporary or Bay Lake guests can mobile order at the Wave. Also if you're trip is after July 15 it will be closing for refurbishment...which stinks since I will be there in August and it is one of my favorite spots...want to try those Bacon and Eggs that Pete salivates over.

Oh my gosh, I was way too tired yesterday. I meant to post this in the BLT/Contemporary thread as we're doing a split stay and staying there as well. Disregard!

Yay! Tofutti is included. I mean... I'd rather walk over to Artisan's de Glace, but Tofutti is good and I'm very glad to see a non dairy option available!

I'm excited for this! We were not able to get a B&C that worked with our plans so this will be nice!
I'm super excited too! I saw a Disney vlogger online yesterday say "It's alright, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it" and I'm like "It's ice cream on the boardwalk! Please, go out of your way for it!!!" it's just so nice to sit on the boardwalk and enjoy an ice cream, it doesn't have to be earth shattering delicious, I just want some cold ice cream while I sit and enjoy a nice afternoon watching the world go by. I've missed it. I also don't want people like him to say stuff like that and then so many people stay away and Disney goes "People must not want ice cream here" and they take it away again.

Unfortunately there are so many Disney “geniuses“ that share their “knowledge” about everything Disney that I never follow negative reviews or advice. If it’s something I think I’ll like then I try it myself and form my own opinion.

But you’re right in that it’s ice cream and eating an ice cream sitting on the Boardwalk cant be beat!!

I for one wished they never closed Seashore Sweets. I loved that place.

I'm with you on that, I always try to form my own opinion. Too many times I've heard, especially with this guy in particular, someone say something wasn't good but I end up loving it. People have to remember that everyone has different likes and dislikes, but I always hear folks in the parks say things along the lines of "I'd try it, but I heard 'so-and-so' say it's not very good so I don't want to waste my time....." and off they trott to eat the same thing that everyone else has seen on insta or YouTube. My family already has plans to catch the Skyliner over from Riviera on our arrival day next weekend to get some ice cream and chill (well, the husband and I do, the kids don't know about the trip yet lol), we normally do a park on arrival day but decided to try something different this time and this seems like just the thing.

Completely agree!!

Will finally be returning in November and hosting a large group in a Grand Villa after almost 2 years of being away from our BWV DVC. Can’t wait. But have to say one of the things I’m most excited about is hearing the news this week about a new ice cream shop returning to the Boardwalk! (and yes, we also still miss Seashore Sweets 🥰)

Is there any news on a remodel and/or re theme for this resort? I've read a lot about the rooms feeling dated, and others have mentioned the Boardwalk area itself has lost some of its appeal to guests over the years. I can't find any news about this resort being in the line up for a remodel.

When we were last there, pre Covid.....12/2019, yes, the rooms are badly in need of a refresh. They should take a page out of the YC refresh. I don't think the BWI area itself has lost a step though.

People always complain that the rooms feel dated at any hotel. They'll complain about that a month after a refurb.

The part about the BoardWalk area losing its appeal to guests over the years is weird. Some things on the BoardWalk have not reopened yet after the Pandemic; I wonder if that is what they were talking about.

Also, there's a difference between the appeal of the BoardWalk area as a place to stay, and the appeal of the BoardWalk area as a place to visit. It's a great place to stay due to proximity to theme parks and hotels; no other area of Disney World has that. As a place to visit, it depends on what someone's expectation is. It's not like going to the boardwalk area of a beach town, which could be full of shops and restaurants, and have many rides and games. There's only so much space there.

I totally agree. I believe that they have the best CL, by far, in that Epcot resort area. I think the hotel itself is a destination stay. We've stayed there many times, the last few times in one of the 10 deluxe CL rooms. Regardless of how tired the rooms are, the view of the Boardwalk during the day and at night, as well as the lake view, is unparalleled. Sure, I'd love to see a room refresh..mainly get rid of the carpeting in the rooms but with it's convenience to two parks, it's hard to be too critical.
