I'm sorry, but that is simply not true. There are too many variables to every trip to make that statement. And we've already seen several posters who HAVE a RO discount that is better for THEM than free dining.
I said doubt I didn't say you could not wl is a less expensive deluxe and since free dining is offered during value season you are getting lower end prices for rooms. Even for two adults fd is a $140 day savings certainly be tough to find a better ro discount it would have to be around 40% at least 35% anyway.

OK-I way away for about 30 hours sick as a dog...and yet when I try to skip the metric ton of pages and I can tell something has gone down. What did I miss?

Doesn't it say though to not refresh the page?

Well, if this works like most online queues, and I don't have any insider knowledge here so it's possible Disney has a different setup, each time you request a page on such a site, an ID is generated for you. For example, you log in on 4/24/17 to modify your reservation (or create a reservation) and an ID is generated for you. Let's say that ID is 12 -- you are 12th in the line/queue for your transaction. If you get tired of waiting and hit refresh, normally in an online queue a new ID is generated. Let's say you refresh and your new ID is generated and it is 21. Now you're 21st in the line and that's not what you want. Again, this is how online queues work in general and Disney's may not work like this at all. But if it does, it makes sense because it will decrease the server loads, minimize crashes, and hopefully provide a more efficient system. For myself, I'm going to grab a place/ID and stick with it.

Hi Andy. I have been enjoying this thread so much. I am a first timer and have gotten so much valuable information from all of you. I will be going with 4 adults and 2 kids. We all want to stay in the same room since our littles (ages 3&5) will likely go to sleep earlier than the rest of us and we don't want to have to leave someone sitting with them in the dark. We were all set on staying in a FW Cabin, but with the rumored dining plan changes an ASMu Suite or AoA Suite are other possibilities. Recommendations? What order would you put the suites in? Thanks for all your help! Glad to see I'm not alone in all my crazy planning.

There are so many different ways to rank these three options!
Size of room alone- 1) AoA-565, 2) ASMu- 520, 3) Cabin- 504
Bed options- 1) cabin- queen, bunk beds, full pull out, 2) AoA- queen, full pull out, full pull down Murphy, 3) ASMu- queen, full pull out, sleeper chair, sleeper ottoman (seems like the best room set up with little ones going to bed early would be cabins in the bunk bed because you can close the door and still have the living room to hang out in as well as the private deck. With ASMu and AoA, the kids will most likely be sleeping in the living room.)
Theming- 1) AoA by a long shot, 2) cabins, 3) ASMu (2 & 3 are preference, but figure kids might find idea of sleeping in a cabin/ camping cooler than a music theme)
Resort Activities- 1) cabins (carriage rides, wagon rides, pony rides, chip n Dale Campfire), other two resorts are probably about equal
Price- 1) ASMu, other two are similar depending on dates

Several other factors to consider such as transportation and food options which I can't really offer opinions on, as well as pools- only the cabins have pools slides and hot tub but the other two have better theming, especially AoA. Cabins offer boat transportation to MK but have an internal bus that you have to transfer off of to transfer to another bus to the theme parks. Cabins have 1 bath and a stove and full size fridge, AoA and ASMu have 2 baths, no stove, and a mini fridge. With AoA and ASMu you have neighbors on the other side of the wall, whereas the cabins are separate structures so less worry of neighbors disturbing you/ you disturbing them and you have your own deck outside to hang out on when kids are in bed.

My personal order of preference would be 1) cabins, 2) AoA, 3) ASMu. I just don't really see much benefit to ASMu over the other two except a slightly lower price, and for me, I think the privacy of the cabin, plus the water slides, hot tub, boat to MK, and resort amenities outweigh the theming and 2 baths at AoA, but obviously others may feel differently on that one.

Super bummed:( if the rumors are true and the free dining offer goes as speculated we will not be going this year. We will do our backup plan.

Maybe I should post a complete update:

free dining could be dropping on April 24. Minimum of 4 nights, maximum of 14, with 4-days of tickets and park hopper or park hopper plus add on. Check-in dates: 8/13-9/30, 11/14-11/20, 11/25-11/27, 12/8-12/23. It also appears that values AND moderates may get quick service, with regular dining only for deluxe resorts. French Quarter, All Star Movies, and Mermaid rooms at AOA appear to be excluded. Riverside appears to only be included through September.

There was a post that talked about a 4 day min park ticket with PH or PH+. Any thought on the min number of days on a ticket?

FD works for my family at a deluxe. I'm booked as a BB in a standard room at the BC. Maybr 430ish for the room. 30% would be 125 off a night. We're a family of 4 Disney adults. We eat a TS every day. We do CM/Ohanas type places. Those meals alone are 200. Dining is a bigger savings.

You're going to start the whole PH/PH+ debate again!!! It is either/or, correct?

How is she doing and how much longer does she have? I had chemo a few years ago, hope to never have to do it again. Prayers up for her!
Our favorite times of year to visit are Sept and Feb. Hope you all have a fantastic time!

She has 4 more weeks of IV chemo. She gets a month off, then the plan is to put her on an oral chemo for five days a month through the end of the year. That depends on the results of the MRI she's going for on Monday afternoon. Thanks for putting her in your prayers.

We went once before in September and loved it!

Of course! Prayer is the simplest thing I can do for a fellow survivor. Good luck to her. Hope the MRI shows positive things. God bless.

Is standard at AKL going to be hard to get? That's what I have booked right now for September. Now I'm nervous! Not like I wasn't before :scared:

My TA said it is hard to get with the discount. Hoping with the changes in FD this year they will allocate mor
First time poster here! We have a reservation at POR from 8/24-8/30. We have never been there before. We go to Disney about every 3 years. Last two times we stayed at BC and YC. Really can't afford Deluxe prices this year... I'm sad about the QS offered at the moderates. I'm sitting here wondering what I can do to earn extra money to upgrade....garage sale? Second job? LOL Is there anyone who has stayed at POR and really liked it?
we have stayed there twice and LOVE it. We are booked there for Nov, but our dates are excluded. Make sure you fax in a building request. Ours has been honored every time. It is so relaxing there! We love our deluxe stays but POR is the next best thing!

Okay so this is probably a really silly question but I'm a little confused. So when we are refreshing pages tomorrow night are we talking about the Disney world offer pages with different promotions listed. Or if we have a package in our cart are we refreshing the page where we would select the dining plan?!
