CBR $75 Gift Card deal ending

Source for that info? Im not saying you're making it up, I just hasn't read that. As info, my Disney cm phoned me today, told me not to worry, gift cards no matter what based on when I booked. Interestingly he said that ho booked the resort for people today and that they would not be receiving gift cards, but that he did book them ap rates and military rates. Also as note, If I go to try and book a room at CBR for june today, I am still getting the 15% sun and fun discount.

Should have been clearer, CBR won't be included in new discounts.

This morning I booked a room only at Caribbean beach resort for February 2018 in an effort to take advantage of the gift card promotion. I've never booked a room only so I'm not sure how to manage it. I know we want to add park tickets and dining. When we do, will that change our reservation and disqualify us for the gift cards?

I talked with guest services today. I was told that I would still get the gift cards when switching from a room only reservation to a package because they would be able to see my original booking date was prior to today. I was also told that if and when any promotions were released, that I would have no problem applying that and retaining the gift cards because they are not considered a promotion. She referred to them as "a good will gesture".

You seem certain that there will be no discount or FD at CBR for the remainder of 2017, you've posted this a few times recently. I have heard different from guest services and am listening to all avenues to keep my options open and to be prepared for when new promotions do come up, whether at CBR or other resorts. Do you have any suggestions on what to do and when to do it for those at CBR who were "grandfathered" in to the $75 GC so that FD is a possibility? Thank you.

I'm sorry, I'm totally not laughing at you, but "good will jester" totally has me cracking up!

It may change going forward but as of today they have exceeded their target occupancy rate for the rest of 2017. With them removing 9 buildings, it really cuts that number down. They are looking into where to move people with existing reservations as they are over capacity for most of October and November.

We booked for November at CBR, primarily because of the gift card deal. If we're moved would you think we'd still get the gift card?

Then that means CBR CAN get other discounts if it's not a promotion right?Which contradicts what dansdad posted earlier

I guess. She said that I just need to tell the cast member that due to my original booking date, I was entitled to the gift cards and they would verify it with guest services.

The rate I was quoted yesterday for October was the same rate I paid for our stay at the beginning of December last year. Doesn't seem to be discounted.

I agree. Don't know why someone on this thread keeps saying that rooms at CBR are "already discounted" because of the construction. I priced the week before labor day which is one of the cheapest times and the rooms were $191/night for CBR. They are not discounted. Hope that person can prove somehow that they are already discounted because I don't see that at all.

I'm interested to see how quickly bookings are canceled by people that are surprised at no discounts.

Those are existing discounts.

My two cents:CBR will be foolish if they think guests will pay rack rates at a construction resort with no gift shop no food court. I'm prepared to cancel.

Agreed. And yet, they've been this foolish in the recent past with WL and Poly construction projects.

I don't disagree with the cancelations, but I think anyone here saying that they're waiting for their discount, is just as foolish to think that's going to happen.

Last week (3/9) I made a reservation online for the end of June. At the time, the Disney site still had the blurb about the $75/night gift card. After hearing the rumors and seeing the posts here, I decided to call guest services to find out what the deal was. I was assured that, because I booked before they discontinued the gift card promotion, I will still get it when I check in. If you have any doubts, please do call guest services.

No, it does not. What dansdad said is that as of right now, CBR will not be included in new promotions. Key being, as of right now. That doesn't mean it can't change. And it doesn't mean that if a promotion comes out and you can apply it to your reservation that you'll keep the gift card. None of those things are known right now. No matter what a CM is telling you on the phone. When it actually happens you'll know for sure. Until then, it's unknown what they'll do

No, CBR rooms are not already discounted because of construction. There are promos currently on the Disney site that include CBR, along with most other resorts. If you want to see a discount room, try to book something that falls within the current promo. You'll see it, if there are any rooms available for your dates with your promo. I can tell you for certain that today, right this minute you can book a Preferred room for the AP rates for the weekend around Memorial Day. You can't find a promo for Labor Day for any room on property. There are no promos issue for that time yet. So I'm not really sure why that's hard to understand. Just because you don't see a promo offered for your dates doesn't mean there are no promos for ANY dates. Check the Special Offers, check the dates they are valid and then decide if there are promos or not.

A few pages back you were saying people were getting discounted rooms and a $75/night gift card. I really don't think that was the case for many. I think they were charging people full price for a room and then giving them a $75/night gift card. Maybe some people think that is a good deal but personally, I do not. The resort is going to be in bad shape.

Maybe you don't understand how promos at Disney work?
It is possible to get discounted rooms at CBR right this minute if your trip falls within the current promotion dates. They aren't discounted because of construction. They are discounted because it's a Disney wide promotion offering deals on rooms.
Disney did not charge those booking within the current promotion dates full price. Go right now, in to MDE, look at the dates the promotions are offered and check for yourself. I know for a fact there are rooms with the AP promo for Memorial Day. Now, could the promo rooms available under the current promo be gone for some dates? Sure. They do not offer every room at a given resort in the promo. Not for CBR, not for any resort. Only some rooms are included. No one knows how many
If they are trying to book rooms outside the dates of the current promotions yes, they are booking full price rooms. Just like any other room on property. Anytime you do that, you need to be prepared to pay the rate you book or cancel. It's never assured you can apply a promo to an existing reservation, even if the promo if valid on your dates
I don't think a single person here has said that full price rooms at CBR with the state the resort is going to be in is a good deal, even with the gift card. I'm fairly certain if you go back to read what I posted (and others) you'll see I said exactly the opposite.
