Epcot to get major transformations

Sorry but I'm sticking up for the adults. There are plenty of places for Kids to thrive and have the time of their life at Disney. Also, Disney isn't just for those who cannot drink. Epcot & Drinks are fine! Disney warns and then removes those that sometimes get out of hand but it is very very rare. I haven not seen anyone vomit in 20 plus years of going to Epcot 5-6 times a year. I have seen people vomit on and off rides.. in fact I was in a mission space capsule when a girl vomited mid ride... should that ride be removed... how about that girl? I mean lets look at how the World Showcase thrives? Is it rides? Is it shows? Or is it Food and Drink? It's the place where big kids go to play and if that were to change the outcry would be even bigger than ToT.

This is getting OT, but I don't think anyone said no drinks at Epcot.

ETA: I'm 36, no kids. I think drinks at Epcot are fine, just not binge drinking at Epcot. There's a difference.

I agree, 100%. I just get tired of hearing Disney is just for kids.. Those people are blind and need to open their eyes, that's all. My point was taking alcohol away in any form from Epcot would change the very nature of what it has become. It isn't a place to get trashed, but it is a place to try drinks from around the world and have a good time. Besides, kids are still mostly bored with the World Showcase, regardless of what beverage is served there.

Epcot needs help, empty buildings/pavilions are sad, so this is great news. Like, Innoventions is so pointless now, they might as well just keep adding more character meets in them. Yes, I'm an 80s Epcot fan and miss what it used to be, I do love Test Track & Soarin, but they need more dark rides that the whole family can do, not every ride needs to be a thrill ride. And France movie is soooo old, you would think that country would help finance an update (do the countries still help out anymore, I know it started that way?). African Outpost pointless as well. So this is great news!

There are actually several locations that could accommodate a pavilion for a new country. The African Outpost area could easily disappear. Plus, there is space between France and Morocco, possibly between Morocco and Japan, or between Italy and Germany. Finally, the huge Millennium Village special events center between Canada and the UK (which most guests don't even know exists) could also be replaced with a new country.

That said, I can't picture a new country being added under current management unless a foreign nation offered to foot the bill. Future World is where the greatest need exists. Plus, the whole "let's learn about the world" edutainment concept isn't favored by those in charge.

As well as between Canada and the Imagination pavilion, albeit Canada would lose the pond and gardens, and between Great Britain and the International Gateway but the English garden would have to go.

I think that's one of the big issues at Epcot: the countries didn't want to help pay for it anymore. I don't know this for a fact, but if I recall that is the case. Hence the characters coming in.

Yeah, I don't understand peoples complaints here. When I had kids, we went through World Showcase during the day and stayed on FW side at night. Then, now that our kids are drinking age, we go to FW during the day, and WS at night. PLanning is all you need to do. And even though our planning has changed, and we go often, I too have never seen anyone "vomit" in WS. Seen it a bunch in every other park and around mission space, but still never at WS.

EPCOT is in dire need of a makeover. Do you think the concept of Future World will be gone? If so, like DHS, can a name change be far behind?

After sifting through this malaise of conjecture...

...if there is any truth to the "big" plans as reported here...

...it means the overlay of the most unique amusement park ever built with gift shop laden IP and characters...

Which means twdc needs new leadership like yesterday.

7 years olds are NOT always right...and they have no sense of longterm value. EPCOT has longterm...
