Disney Gift Card Deals

I got my cards within 5 days I think. They came USPS. When I got them I had no idea that there was a way to consolidate the balances all onto one card. It was so easy. For those that don't know you go to https://www.disneygiftcard.com/Manage/Transfer to do that.

What I don't know is can I add the gift card to our magic bands or just pay our balance when we check out with the gift card? I am thinking about buying more, but I don't want to go overboard.

I don't think you can link GC to magic band. It's more of the second where you pay off your balances daily before they put the charge on your CC

They charge your credit card at certain balances based on the resort so just check and go to the desk to pay it before then. Don't go to pay any balance on check-out day as they charge your credit card during the night. I had that happen once and it was a real pain getting my credit card charge reversed to use my gift cards so now I just go to the desk the night before we check out and use gift cards. If I do anything after that, I just use the gift card instead of room charge.

I got a $10 coupon in the mail from Best Buy. I had $20 in rewards from them and decided to try and see if they would allow me to use both for a Disney gift card. It worked, easy peasy! I paid $20 for a $50 gift card. The coupon expires tomorrow so if anyone else has been wondering, go ahead and use it before it expires.

That's awesome, I'll have to start keeping an eye out for Best Buy coupons. To clarify, the $20 in rewards is different than a gift card, right? I seem to remember seeing somewhere in this thread that you can't use Best Buy gift cards to buy gift cards...

I just bought a $50 disney Giftcard using some "left over" over Best buy cards (6 that had $47 in value across them - just wanted to use)

So far I have found that
Sears/Kmart cards to buy other Giftcards [my kmart has Disney]
Bed Bath & Beyond/ Buy Buy Baby to buy other Giftcards [found restaurants and Gamestop Giftcards]
Gamestop to buy other Giftcards [found restaurants and Amazon Kindle Cards]
Best Buy to buy other Giftcards [found restaurants and Disney]

New to this game...

My Kmart that told me I couldn't buy other giftcards with Kmart giftcards the other day didn't stop me from getting a bdubs gift card when I bought some other stuff. So, apparently it was that particular manager on duty, with the card I was trying to buy that day. I'm not going to be in every day or anything, but I know I can turn over what I have left in Kmart/Sears cards, at least (and they have disney gcs, I just got bdubs because we were going there that night so I didn't care if I had to pay cash for the card if they wouldn't let me use my kmart gc).

I also found out that if you have a e-giftcard at Kmart the managers are get up in arms about it - but physical cards they do not...

For Sam's Club Members:

Check your emails, as they have a special going. Before November 1st, if you make $75 in purchases out of their Winter Specials Catalog, you get a $10 e-gift card back. The $150 Disney Gift cards are a part of the deal!

$150 in Disney Gift Cards regular price is $142.98 minus $10 in e-gift cards is a net price of $132.98. This is a net savings of just under 11.5%.

OR you could look at it this way: Buy the $150 for $142.98, which is a savings of about 4.7%. Then, turn around and use that $10 gift card on the $50 Disney Gift Card, whose regular price is $48.88= $38.88. This is a savings of about 22%! So almost 5% off the original purchase, and 22% off the additional purchase. Not bad, especially if you are going to be needing money for Disney anyway.

This may sound like borrowing from Peter to pay Paul, as your $10 e-gift card is either used on another gift card or to pocket and use toward your regular Sam's expenses. I just thought I'd give ya'll a heads up, and give you a couple of ways to look at it.

Thanks. Can you use the $10 e-gift card to buy another $142.98 plus get another $10 off? i.e. it would be $142.98 for the first one and $132.98 for each subsequent one, and with a $10 e-gift card left over.

That would bring the Sam's Club deal close to the Cardpool/Raise and Target deal.

I don't believe so. The fine print specifies 1 $10 per primary member.

Now, if you had a friend or relative who could buy one for you, and you re-imburse them, could you use THEIR $10 e-gift card toward your purchase of the gift cards? That I'm not sure. My guess is the $10 will have a date contingency, such as "Good from 11/2-12/31/15." The fine print also states that the e-gift card will be emailed by 12/1/15, so it will probably be emailed after the deal if over. But, you could use any extra $10 e-gift cards from friends or family members for any new $50 gift cards. You just can't stack multiple $10 e-gift cards.

Additionally- Southwest e-gift cards are under the Winter Catalog as well. %-wise, it is less of a good deal, BUT, you will have to shell out less money ($96.98 for $100) to get the $10 e-gift card that you could use toward a $50 Disney Card. And, if you are planning to fly SW anyway...it may be worth it. Our flights for an upcoming trip are taken care of, so we need Disney $$ more than we need flight $$, so we will be doing the $150 Disney option.

Is there a trick to buying Target gift cards on Ebay? Seems like most of them are going for over the card value once you take into account shipping. Is there something obvious that I am missing or do I just need to watch the auctions and hope something good comes along?

Anyone in the "know" about WDW gift cards being offered again with that deal during the holidays? Maybe a Target employee would know? Think it was buy $50 card get a $10 free? I used this about 3 years ago and I thought it was a great deal.
Just an FYI when I got to WDW and started using them, I blew through them like water, just like cash or CC!! HAHA! Go figure!

4 of the last 5 years has seen large Black Friday deals that could be converted to Disney Cards. However, the always available Raise/Cardpool and Target.com trick is a nice hedge of your bet if you are waiting for the Black Friday deal.

Right now, Raise has selected cards for an extra 1% discount, Target being one of the group.

I buy the ones sold by gift card mall. They are generally at face value plus shipping.

Enter code RAISE1 at checkout. It is listed under the Specials On Sale button. The current % off is only 5% so you would get 6% off at checkout
