Disney Gift Card Deals

I just buy the discounted Target gift cards through Cardpool, or whoever, then use them to buy the Disney gift cards on Target.com. I have done no less that a 12% discount, but right now I have an average of 15% off of all the cards I have bought.

Agreed. Without a Target sale on eBay cards or vice versa, there is no need to involve eBay.

I was thinking about doing this but considering I leave to Disney in less then 2 weeks I don't want to risk it on delivery times and any small issues I would run in to. Sounds like a great deal though!

Ill just swing by my local Target & pick up a few gift cards and use my 5% off in store - still better then nothing :)

I was thinking of buying g.c. for my daughter for Christmas through the raise.com site. Is that a bad idea since she may not use the whole balance within the 100 day mark?
So I bought a gift card for someone else and received in via mail from Raise for the first time. It took a couple weeks but arrived with the whole balance on it. The problem for me was the gift card was written all over on the back of it, not just the current balance but previous balances also crossed out and the card just looked a bit grubby. But, I knew that was possible and it was ok because of how much I saved. I managed to take my gift card to the store and purchase a gift card with an identical balance on it. This way I know no one is going to steal the balance who previously had the card no matter how long she keeps it around and the card actually looked presentable. Whether or not stores will do that is a shot in the dark, the clerk wasn't sure and the manager said if the computer accepted it then ok and the computer accepted it. Phew Honestly I wouldn't mind doing it for myself but I don't think I'd do it again for a gift.

Thank you for sharing that gottalovepluto! I'd definitely not want that. I may just get a gift card for my DD but maybe not for a gift but just as a "you deserve a special treat" kind of thing. One of her favorite places to shop has gift cards listed for 40% off making it a GREAT deal!

I actually had a problem with a drained gift card even after I had the balance transferred from one gift card to another. I was purchasing a large quantity of Crate and Barrel gift cards from Cardpool to buy living room furniture. I couldn't make the purchase right away, so I decided to use the Cardpool cards to buy consolidated GCs right from Crate and Barrel. All went well until about 2 months later when I went to buy the furniture. Some of the gift cards would not process and it turned out that the original Cardpool CGs had been purchased fraudulently through a stolen credit card. Crate and Barrel had deactivated my consolidated GCs after tracing the funds. It took some time working with both Crate and Barrel and Cardpool, but I eventually recovered all of my funds and was able to purchase the furniture, but I was really concerned that I might be out of thousands of dollars.

So I would be very careful with holding onto large amounts of GCs or even consolidating them.

Another raise.com question.....their Walmart write up says gift cards may not be used to purchase other gift cards. However, I take in my Walmart vouchers to Sam's Club and am able to purchase Disney gift cards with them. Would this still work?

I've done this many times in Sam's Club stores to buy Disney and Southwest Gift Cards. And if you have a lot of smaller WalMart cards (like I did from mPoints, Shopkick, ReceiptHog, etc..) you can combine them on WalMart.com and 'buy' a larger gift card. It is delivered to your email within a few hours.

paying the gift card game. i tested the buying disney gift cards at walgreens with a walgreens gift card. did not work. then i tested buying disney gift card with walgreens register rewards. IT WORKS. keeping in mind their silly rule of one coupon (register rewards count as coupons) per items purchased. purchased $25 gift card, 7 filler items about 25 cents apiece, using 8-$3 register rewards and about $2 on my credit card.
Thanks! That's really helpful. I'm gonna try it at our local Walgreens, too. Let you know how it goes. ;)

I got a $10 coupon in the mail from Best Buy. I had $20 in rewards from them and decided to try and see if they would allow me to use both for a Disney gift card. It worked, easy peasy! I paid $20 for a $50 gift card. The coupon expires tomorrow so if anyone else has been wondering, go ahead and use it before it expires.

That is awesome! I have a $10 rewards, but no coupon. But, will use the rewards for a Disney card. I hadn't even realized until recently that Best Buy sold Disney Gift Cards.

Hmm. I just checked my statement and Cardpool did NOT give 5x on Ultimate Rewards. Neither did Saveya--I bought a 20$ gc thru them to test it out. 5x ultimate rewards works out to be 6.25% when you redeem for travel, which I do, so that is a pretty big disappointment. What's funny is that Savya shows up as "work related" on the expense category. I am considering cancelling my other order with Cardpool (pending because I need to do a phone verification). I had bought 1k of Target cards @ 7% off but it's not such a fabulous deal I don't get my credit card rewards. I wonder if Cardcash still gives 5x? Time for an experiement :)

That is really scary!
I had heard of this happening with Starbucks gift cards, but I hadn't heard of it happening with other gift cards.
Thanks for the heads up!

I'm finally ready to get a better return over the 5% Red Card discount. I have purchased Southwest Airlines gift cards on Raise but have never bought anything on Cardpool. I leave for Old Key West on November 21. Would I be better to buy Target GC on Raise and 5% discount or go with Cardpool and a 6.5% discount, but as a first time customer may have a delay in the transaction? From what I understand, I then put the gift cards on my Target.com account (does Target combine them or are they listed individually as I bought them;I'll buy around $900 in cards, so there may be 9 plus individual Target GC purchases). I make the gift cards my default payment. I then online put $950 Disney cards in my Target purchase cart. How do I get the Target Red Card discount and how do I combine the Disney GC to one $1,000 Disney GC? I just want to make sure that I don't get stuck with Target GC and get the Disney GC, purchased at a gift card site, with the Red Card discount. Thanks in advance.

A few corrections/suggestions:
  • Raise might also ask you to verify your identification. Go with the one that will give you the biggest discount on n e-gift card. Be careful not to purchase a physical GC. It can take a very long time to receive them in the mail.
  • Do as the PP mentioned, and combine the Target GCs using their mobile website. You can't use more than 4 Target GCs in a single transaction. You must be the one to combine the balances onto one GC. Target will not do it for you.
  • You make your REDCard your default form of payment and the choose "pay with a GC" during the checkout process. The 5% discount will remain on your order, even if the entire balance is paid with GCs.
  • Protect yourself from slow Mail Innovations shipments (where UPS hands the package off to your local postal distribution center) by choosing "require signature". Your package will be delivered via UPS without involving the post office.
  • Be aware that Target limits the number of Disney GCs that you can purchase in a single transaction. You will probably need to make a minimum of 3 separate orders to purchase a total of $1000 in Disney GCs.
  • Use the disneygiftcard .com website to combine your Disney GCs onto a single GC.

I just used Cardpool for the 6.5% discount in bulk purchase for $897.00 (not my net). Hopefully, I'll get the email with the e-cards by tomorrow night. I'll set up my target account today with my Red Card as my default payment. Thanks for the corrections. Hopefully, Target mails the Disney cards out in a timely manner.
