February 2014 Code watch

I just called and was on hold less than 5 minutes! I changed our package to the s/p/d at POR. I had to upgrade to the gardenview room to get the deal, but that is okay, I saved just under $700!! We are going 2/11-2/19 2 adults 2 children (9 & 4) and one 2 year old! So happy!!:banana::banana:

Extremely jealous!! I've been on hold for 28 and I'm still holding!

Woke up this morning to find an e-mail from our TA (which she sent at 6:14 a.m.), saying she had the room-type at CR we wanted on hold, and waiting for me to confirm. Which I did, saving us $1300 plus change!

Booked a second pkg online at midnight for $1200 less than quoted over the past couple of weeks; 4 "disney adults", nine nights at CBR with dining...called in and spent an hour on hold to get RO applied to my parents reservation and saved them $300 at YC and then cancelled our original reservation.

Now just waiting for confirmation that the money paid on original reservation was applied to new one.

Called this a.m. at 7:15, so I could then drive DD to school. Was on hold for 45 minutes. Someone answered, just pulled up my ressie, and my (*^(#^@$ cell phone dropped the call.:sad::sad::furious:

Got home & called, waited another 30 minutes, but got it all switched and for 3 rooms (6 adults, 2 kids, 1 baby), we saved $1700!!!!! YEAH!!!!pixiedust::dancer:

What are the dates?? We're going to DLR in August 2014 and I heard they didn't have discounts/PINs like WDW!

The one I got is for 10/20-11-27 and 11/30-12/19. 20% off a premium room or 15% off a standard. We live local (20 minute drive), so almost never stay at the hotels.

Big thank you to everyone on this thread!! We got out S/P/D applied to our Feb trip this morning.

Got s/p/d today for our Feb22-Mar1 reservation at Port Orleans Riverside. The price only jumped 800 for seven days of dining for 5 people (3 of whom are adults). It really works out to two of us (1 adult and 1 kid) dining for free. :)

We will be at the BC 2/19-2/24 for princess half marathon. Just got off phone- waited on hold about 10 min. Saved $900 and upgraded from standard view CL to deluxe. So excited!!

I waited 55 mins this morning and saved 362.70 with SPD Deal!!

Then I got an email for a southwest sale and in order to get a cheaper departing flight, I would need to move my trip by 1 day. It is a $500 savings, so I need to try at least.

Anyway, I have been on hold now for 50 mins in complete silence. There is no hold music.

Is anyone else waiting with no music?

Very weird

Just called and switched our S/P/D package to FD...2/17-2/22
2A 2C-16&10
5 nights-POR FQ-Standard View
5 day MYW PH Tickets
DDP
$2697.48
So excited!!! Still hoping for everyone else to get what they want too ;-)

We have an existing POR preferred room reservation, and have been waiting for a PIN, RO, or SPD. We were going to pay OOP for food, but S,P,D is tough to pass up.

We are doing 7 nights, Feb 3-10. 2 adults, 2 10-yo Dis adults, and 1 3 yo (dis child). We currently have 6 days of base park tickets, but we are going to add one more day. We were going to do DTD our first night, but now we are going to try to do MK for the MSEP.

3870 with the 6 days of tickets. Will be a little more when we bump to 7 days of tickets.

TA asked us a few days ago whether we wanted to try for a RO discount or do SPD. She took care of making the changes for us. According to her calculations we saved a little over 1000 dollars.

We originally had a standard room at POR for 5 Disney adults, 9 day tickets and the regular dining plan for $6500ish. My T/A waited on hold for 4.5 hours ( I warned her ahead of time to call early but the agency didn't open until one hour after the phones opened :sad2: Told ya so!) I got a garden view room with 10 day tickets for $5183, a svings of over $1300 with an upgrade and an extra day of tickets! I am happy! :cool1:

Does it bother anyone else that people get different deals?
I mean some got SPD some got free dining. It is frustrating to me.
I got a SPD dine deal but of course free dining seems like it would be cheaper.
It is also frustrating to me disney can't outline the exact price for each part of the package, ie dining cost this but your discount now makes it this price.

I would be upset if I went to Target and paid one price and a friend went for the same item and paid a diferrent price.

I guess I should be happy I got a deal but it seems unfair.
Sorry I just had to let that out.

I feel exactly like you do. It really bothered me last year and this year it is even worse. I tentatively booked with the SPD, but free dining would save us an additional $1400. So do I have $1400 worth of sour grapes? I guess I do. However, it still comes down to that I am buying a service from a very large company. Why should I have to pay a higher price for the exact same service as someone else does? The pin code strategy may have worked at one time, but in this day and age of social media and mass communication it now just fosters bad feelings.

I just quoted the week of President's Day (arriving after PD) and the prices seem astronomical to me with the room only discount! I haven't even researched, but I guess rack rates must be jacked up that week.

I noticed that too!

We booked through a Disney agent for this reason alone - I had a nice email waiting for me that I saved almost $400!!

Right - rates for Feb 17-22 are in the "Peak" category and then the President's Day weekend itself (Feb 14-16) gets its own higher rates.

Ahhhh! Looks like we will be staying offsite! Insane the prices I just pulled up!

I absolutely agree! As to the extra $1400 you could have saved with a FD pin - ouch!
