June 2013 Car Rental When Best Deals

Sorry... It was budget, (nissan altima coupe or similar) it also says right on it auto insurance MAY be added if wanted at pick up, to answer a previous poster that said you had to get insurance.

Thanks! We just used the Dollar Express today. We didn't even have to go to the counter. Someone came out and met us, ushered us towards our car and we were in it in minutes. We paid $168 and we got a beautiful Toyota Camry that looks brand spanking new. Definitely sign up for Dollar Express! It is free and easy. And no one asked me to sign up for anything extra since it was all done online.

Even with all of the codes, the best price I could get for a minivan for 11 days was $490. I just got a minivan with Hertz on pricline for 11 days for $21 per day. With taxes and fees $389 :cool1::cool1:

So our trip is on 06/08-06/15. Using Promo code AD2338FDF RIGHT NOW the price of a full size for 8 days (because of departure on 06/15 is 6.5 hours later than our pick up we had to add a day) is $145.43. Don't use any other Contract ID or Product Code.....

Good Luck

We got our rental down to $112 all taxes and fees included. This was just this afternoon. Our rental is from June 3 - 10 (6 days 16 hours according to their calculations). I used the code MUWZ020 and it gave me an additional discount for being a repeat renter? Don't know how that happened, but I'll take it! Anyways, this is at Sanford Airport for a Ford Focus. I am very happy with this price...I will continue to check until Monday afternoon, though...you just never know!

I also wanted to comment on the Budget situation...I can't explain what they did about the insurance on your honeymoon. I don't know if it was due to the type of car you rented, or were you very young when you rented? But, I would never take the insurance, we will be using my DH's credit card that has supplemental insurance to cover rentals. I plan to have a copy with us to show them just in case. That was a HORRIBLE way to start your honeymoon...I can only hope the rest of it was wonderful!!

We are in our 40's and got an SUV.

We have AAA, full coverage on our car AND there is insurance on my DH's credit card. We told this to them.

Sufficed to say I am NEVER using them again - besides Alamo and Enterprise let you pick your own car :)

What rental company is the code for?

Thank you for that! I just saved some $ - I have been searching and thinking the $212 I got for fullsize 6/6-15 was a good deal but the price this just got me brought it down to $163 so

yuuuuup

mine now $120.xx with ad2338fdf & 7015135/insiders login for standard weekly rental beginning 6/8

We are doing full sized, DH won't compromise. :) tried using the contract ID, same price but thank you. Everybody here is awesome

fyi, renting a standard = fullsize for alamo & national @ MCO since there is no standard aisle

Thank you. We are hoping that maybe all full sized are gone and we get an upgrade :)

interesting thought, that would be some pixie dust. can't say i've heard much anecdotal reports as to that happening. Have you gotten an upgrade in the past?

YMMV but be careful what you wish for;)...the category i've rented thru alamo/national has been 'gone' a few times (holiday weekends)over the years. unfortunately, we've always been downgraded and issued a paltry refund.:headache:

Then its a lesson for the DH who is pretty stubborn right now, but thank you for the heads up :) (I'm not picky about the car, I'd go smaller and cheaper if he'd let me)

lol men do like their fancy rides. no bad mojo sent your way! the unwanted downgrade only has happened a few times when it's been really busy out of many trips for us over the years, don't worry.

I just wondered if you had received an complimentary upgrade via Alamo @ MCO in the past (wouldn't mind one myself;)) hope you come back and report if do get one of the premiums, would be a great way to start off a trip.

In our six trips to MCO we have never used Alamo. The good people of this community gave me the Alamo promo code. In the past we have used Thrifty, Budget, Hertz and Enterprise. The last trip was with Enterprise and it was the first time we got to pick our own car, we LOVED that option.

I'll let you guys know what happens after we get our car on Saturday :)

I had a steal booked already for a week 6/8-6/15 with a Budget intermediate for $100 but I just rebooked for $90. This includes taxes and fees. Alamo's rates also dropped. An identical reservation with Alamo was $125 on Costco.

I don't have Costco and I checked BJ's. The Budget deal was a few dollars cheaper but I got screwed by them in the past so I am not a fan and won't give them my money :). Besides, You can't pick your own car with them :)

Thanks for the heads up though!
