What is your not so normal item to pack, which is helpful while at WDW ?

If you're crazy than i must be even more crazy cause not only am i doing the same thing, but i've already got more than half of the outfits packed in the bags and ready to go...and we leave 3 days after you :rotfl:. My daughter is 8 but can't match clothes to save her life and hates to pick out her own clothes. Ive been thinking about getting mesh lingerie bags to do this with all of her clothes...would save a lot of grief before school every morning :rotfl2:

Totally not crazy! If I could have started, I would have already. (too busy with work schedule) But I am starting next Friday. That will give me 3 weeks to get the last minute things or see if I am forgetting anything! Let me know if you have any other tips as you pack. It's almost here!!! :cheer2:

My Name is nicole and I have a dis board addiction. I have seriously been on this board non stop for about 3 days now. My eyes are bleeding - but there is so much info...
New here and planning my first DW trip in October. I started reading this thread... who knows if I'll ever make it to the end.....

WELCOME! You are definitely among friends here! :surfweb: :rotfl2:

this one would probably be for adults!

i bring those oil absorbing sheets that clean and clear or neutragena(sp?) put out. they have like 50 in a little box (so its really easy to just pop into a bag!) but they are great for just wiping off the oil from your face so you don't look all greasy and sweaty in your pics. they dont smudge makeup and from my experience they dont interfere with sunscreen. the sunscreen thing being mainly why i use them -- i hate having my face feel all greasy nasty after i apply faceblock!

Okay, so you're gonna think I'm crazy, but you can also use the paper toilet seat covers in public bathrooms. I had a friend tell me about this and I thought she was crazy, but they really do work!

We did this last time and it was wonderful. The other thing we added to the bag was the matching hair band.

That's what I do,,matching hair band too! (Minus the number and spreadsheet however). It's certainly a time saver during our stay!

The least normal item I bring is OLD clothing and toiletries (and anything else!). I like to get rid of it! So rather than tossing the old undies, socks, and clothes during the year, we bring it with us on vacations and toss it as we use it.

I am the opposite, we get new clothes ( especially t-shirts) as well as some new undies and socks for our trips. - The undies and socks are usually to supplement what we already own so we can have nice ones for each day of our trip

I most certianly don't want to look like a grubby frump in old clothes in all my vacation photos. I am not 'sylish'. I am a shorts and t-shirts kinda gal, but I am not going to go on holidays wearing things destined for the rag bag, so I have more room in my suitcase going home.

The $20 saved in extra bag fees are not worth it to me! YMMV

I had cases of water shipped down to our disney resort before we left. I went to samsclub.com Pick the ones that say shipping included, it was about $7 a case. If you try and ship it yourself it will cost to much so don't bother. I also bought a soft sided thermos bag from target and filled it with ice at night to get the water cold, then I refilled in the morning with more ice and had cold water all day long. One note is that the bag is heavy but we use a stroller for our youngest so it is not a big deal.

I have to agree. I usually buy all new clothes for Vacay. Especially for my kiddos because I want them to wear Disney shirts etc. If I let them wear the clothes before, they would be all stained up...lol I do like the idea of bringing toiletries that are almost all used up so you can just throw them away though :)

One of those thick, black sharpies for the character autographs. Most regular-sized pens are just too small for the fur characters to hold properly.

That is such a good Idea.now I'm going to buy the pretty colorful ones. :)

I would like to bring the shoe rack, does anyone know if I would be able use it at BLT resort. I thought I read that the bathroom doors were sliding ones.

We prefer to put it in the closet instead.

Great Idea! I have considered the garden grocer but all I want is water. So you have it delivered to the resort and then you go to thje front desk???? I am not a Sam's Club member but I do have costco...I wonder if that would work. Thanks :cool2:

White noise people -

There's an app for that - lol!

a fleece throw - not to sit on at parades but to keep the peace in our room since im always cold the extra layer allows me to sleep comfortably in the ac.

Amen - my hubby tries to freeze me out!!!

I also pack the glow bracelets. We used them last year as bravery bracelets. On a ride my daughter thought was too dark or scary she would wear one and would be fine. We also gave a couple out in line a few times to other kids.

Oh my, love this idea for the rides! Last time my hubby gave our then 4 year old (now 6) his watch that had a back light to use when he got scared. He never let it go off on dark rides!

Also if you don't have time to collect the lids to the fastfood places - we use coffee filters for the drips on Popsicle and ice creams! Just poke the stick through it and voila!

Oh my goodness, I have gotten SOOOO much from this Thread! Thank you! :goodvibes

My list has grown and grown....
dish soap, M&M tubes for pennies and quarters, shout wipes, ear plugs for the kids, clothes pins, tylenol PM, click sharpie, detergent/softener sheets, lysol, body glide and water shoes!

Brita water pitcher, and a video case with our favorite dvd's. Oh and laptop.:surfweb: PS I looove my owners locker:love:

I am a newbie just wanted to add two things that we are bringing from other tips I have read.

1. Britta water bottles- Target for $9.00
They are the bottles with the filter on the drink portion of the bottle, filters as you drink.

2. Misty mister- Target for $2.00- Same concept as the fan bottle they sell at Disney, but this one is a pump and a bit sleeker- so no batteries gotta love that.

This is a great thread thank you guys for all the great tips.....

When my son was younger getting him ready in the morning was always a pain in the *ahem* because he would end up putting long pants on when it was going to be 90 or shorts on when it was going to be 50, etc. I bought a sweater holder (I think it was called) it hung over the rod in his closet, was made out of canvas and created shelves when hung up. There were 5 pocket shelves so every Sunday I'd fill his shelves for the week and he could pick a shelf and wear that outfit each day. It made morning so much easier, plus there was plenty of room in each shelf so you could even put shoes in with the clothes (not an issue for a boy he wears sneakers every day)

Oh my gosh, this is a fabulous idea! I fight....ahem...I mean disagree with my 3 year old EVERYDAY on clothes. It is insane. I am gonna be using this one!
