What is your not so normal item to pack, which is helpful while at WDW ?

I remembered something else that I took the last time we went and it was so helpful, they are these gel foot calmers you put them in the refrigarator and they velcro to the feet, they are wonderful...I would put them on at night after showering and in the bed...They helped so much

Thanks, for all of the GREAT ideas.

Can someone tell me what the autograph picture frame is?? Sounds, liek a newat idea!! TIA!!

They may be refering to my idea Post #435 basically I print character photos taken with the family from our last trip. Then run into that character again and have them autograph our photo. After they sign it we get another pic with the character holding up the photo, proving that they actually signed it. After our trip I have both pics matted and framed. Thr proof pic is always small 3x5 with an 8x10 and a plaque "2011 Disney Trip Cinderella Epcot" or something to that effect. Nice piece of memorobilia for a cheap price.
Dont know why they called it an autographed frame?

or it might have been my suggestion.

We get a picture matte that will house a 5x7 photo. I usually get a different 3d scrapbooking image and write the year on the matte. We carry it around and get autographs from the characters and then pic out our favorite photo and frame it.

Sharpies work great, especially the the retractable pen styled ones. It is easier for the characters to use

I'm not sure if I read it on this thread or not... but I put small post it notes in my bag that I take to the park. My DD (6) does NOT like the auto flushing toliets, so I give her one, she puts it over the sensor, does her thing, then when she's done, I go and pull it off... she's over washing her hands, and there is peace in my world!!!

At walmart, michaels, target they have these white matted frames that you can put pictures in and have the characters sign the frame itself! Then put a picture inside the frame! they come in all sizes but most of the people here I think use the 11x8? Not sure on the size detail but you can check them out! The link is below- they have a few but I think that this is the size most people get to bring with them!

The best ideas I got from this board for my trip last Fall were:

The collapsing hamper (I got one at dollar tree)
Pump soap for the sink
suction cup cup to hold toothbrushes off of the counter
Glide.

we actually pack pretty light and have managed to travel with suitcases that can be used as carry on although we've always checked them - but yes, they might fit into a bigger suitcase - and now that you suggest that, I'm going to dig out the 26" suitcase and see if I can get them in there and how much room I'd have left....

For those that are bringing fans, if it's just for the noise there are some great phone apps that do the same thing.

We bring coffee to go cups with lids so we can drink our in room coffee(Starbucks Via) on the way to the bus stop and then toss them.

This is a great thread!!! I love all the helpful tips and tricks!!!

We will be at DW in 6 weeks! yay!

I don't know if it was mentioned but along with many things pp mentioned,
I like to pack disposable toilet seat covers (for park use, we use clorox wipe on our resort room).
I also pack at least two cleaners bag. It's one of those bags that dry cleaners give out to their customers. One we put our dirty/worn clothes. The other we fold (very light and small) and bring to park. We sometimes use it as our seats for parade and sometimes cover put our bags during water ride. I saw collasible laundary hampers but we fly and only do carry-ons so these take less room and weight.

I also send package ahead of our travel including our snacks and breakfast food. In the package, I also include bath needs: shampoo, conditioners, lotions, etc. I don't buy travel size or new. I actually save ones we've used at home which are down to very little. I send them and use it and throw them out since they are mostly used.

I was considering VIA but I am pretty sure there is a coffee maker in the room, so I could bring my Verona!!! Throw away cups are a great idea!:surfweb:

I take a stack of lids from take-out drinks. If you turn it upside down and insert a popsicle or mickey bar through the straw x-cut, then the lid will catch any drips! :mickeybar

I have been planning trips to Disney for years and honestly thought that I had heard every tip there is. This is a new one for me and an excellent one also. I will be adding drink lids to my Disney box before our trip in September!

I love this thread, and now my brain is really going!!

At some DVCs, the bottom sheet isn't fitted. We have used binder clips to secure the bottom sheet to the mattress. :rotfl2:

We actually prefer Chamois Butter to Bodyglide for the purpose that it serves.

I am thinking that I will buy a disposable camera, because some great photo ops lurk in Florida's torrential downpours, and I'd hate to miss out on them just because the whole world's gone digital. :umbrella:

Plastic bags are an absolute must. I am actually fashioning a purse poncho out of gallon sized ziplocs. Tacky? Cheap? Maybe, but I'm confident that I won't regret it!:thumbsup2

Thinking cap is on and ready for action. Thanks Everyone!!:surfweb:

Just bring a draw string plastic bag (the kind you get whe you shop at pacsun, ect...) and just drop your bag into that! :thumbsup2

My family is going to Disney May 21-28, 2011. I have 2 little girls who are very opinionated on their outfits everyday. So, I have planned to pack each outfit (shorts, top, socks and underpants) in a gallon sized zip loc bag with their name and a number next to it. Then each day, they can go into their drawer and pick out a bag. This way, they don't have to complain about what they wear each day. Plus, i can then keep track of how many outfits they still have based on the numbers they pull out. (I know it's a little crazy but I have an excel spreadsheet with the numbers so I can cross it out on the day they wear it.) Also, we are staying at a DVC location so we will have the ability to wash our clothes before we go home. Having the bags will help ensure that I have remembered to pack all of the items we came with. Another benefit is that i can grab an extra outfit, if needed, to take with us into the parks and it is already waterproofed because of it being in a zip lock bag.

If you're crazy than i must be even more crazy cause not only am i doing the same thing, but i've already got more than half of the outfits packed in the bags and ready to go...and we leave 3 days after you :rotfl:. My daughter is 8 but can't match clothes to save her life and hates to pick out her own clothes. Ive been thinking about getting mesh lingerie bags to do this with all of her clothes...would save a lot of grief before school every morning :rotfl2:

If you are going to the water parks, don't forget to pack AquaSocks or Water Shoes. You can sometimes get them super cheap at sporting good stores when the seasons are changing.

We did this last time and it was wonderful. The other thing we added to the bag was the matching hair band.
