Thanks Sandi, I am looking forward to meeting everyone too! I'm probably not funny in real life, probably rather dull!
I think we have a great group here, but you never know it only takes one grumpy person (non Dis of course!) to create a scene. I really hope not, Life's too short to worry about such little things!
My DH has been away for a few days, It's been nothing but DCL planning here! Enjoy your lists!
Good night, Sweet dreams.
I an deal with the pick pocket threat, and be prepared for them, But......I just can't seem to prepare myself for the thought of no Mickey Bars!
Oh, I'm feeling the love today, Thanks
I cannot explain to you all how happy I am that I found you all, It makes the planning, anticipation and excitement so much more fun.
Plus, I'd be totally lost without all the fab advice!

I am trying to plan a work trip to Toronto. I will be going end of June or after the 4th of July holiday. I will be there about 2.5 - 3 days. My days are booked with work, but wondering about weather, and if there are any must do;s that can be done in the evenings. I don't think that the Loblaw folks will care if I don't sit in the hotel... Ofcourse, I can just DIS all night...
TIA!
Your PM hasn't made it through yet.
Here's what I have on there now:
Krisann, Ashley (DH), & 2 Dkids
Are you just wanting me to put Ashlyn and Aaron's names in place of DKids?
I am laughing though about all the undie talk earlier. You girls made my morning. I have never been scanned or stopped so I guess I should continue buying from the same store.
Okay, silly question because I read someone's post about going to Deck 9 and partying while doing laundry. We never stay in the laundry room while we do wash - do you guys? Somebody made it sound like that was wrong but I just thought it would be a waste of time. I doubt your stuff would get stolen, the only thing I wash are undies and that would just be wrong! Do you guys actually sit and wait - please tell me the protocol.
I Krisann, I usually stay ironing in the laundry room while my clothes are washing and drying. This trip I just may just send everything out!!!
Just my thoughts....
There is a sticky that gives info but the post is from 2005 so not sure how current the prices are:

Anybody have more current info?
I don't mind ironing a few things if I have time but this cruise seems to be especially busy with activities.
DD and I are going on the Baltic cruise next week - thankfully for us, that is easy to do. Anyway we can`t book for Palo`s when we should for the WBTA as we will be on the cruise! I won`t be lining up to use the internet that`s for sure.
Well done to all for making this thread so friendly and welcoming - it is appreciated .
No correction needed.

Noel - you are so sweet. I just told him what you said, and in my typical DH fashion, he said, "anything under 80 is not gorgeous." He has always been a hot weather guy - not even warm - but hot!! I am laughing!!
OK....things that I am concerned about right now about this cruise....
Seriously, the only concern is the pick-pocketing. We fly into Barcelona and then Disney transportation to the port.....Do the Disney reps meet you like they do in the Orlando airport?
Thanks all....see you all soon....OK...in about 15 weeks....

I feel like I have found extended family... We all suffer from the same DISorders... We all crave to see DISney... So, family or support group - take your pick!!
Weather wise, think Florida in May. We can be very humid here.
Hopefully you are coming after the July 4th holiday. We are hosting a G20 summit June 24-27 and it will be crazy here. My store is closed 24-27th as the U of Toronto campus is closed as well, they have placed the "official" protest site right next door to the main campus. Several areas of the city will require access passes to enter.
Evening activities, not really my kind of knowledge, I live out in the suburbs. If you are looking for shopping, The Eaton Centre has lots of shops and is right downtown.

What is the Mickey Mouse Club, I mean I know what it is, but what is it on the cruise?Does anyone know if there was a Mickey Mouse Club night on the EBTA? We had one on the last PC crossing and the cast members were so shocked that so many of us came prepared. A lot of us had made our own MMC shirts and brought our mouse ears. Just wondering if I should consider making some shirts again.
Just a quick question - has anyone been to Tortola? If so, has anyoe done this excursion:
Tortola by Land and Sea (CRUISE & SIGHTSEE)
(TT-03)
The Virgin Islands are made up of over 60 isles and cays. Cruise past the islands by motor launch and tour the length of Tortola by tour bus, while also enjoying some shopping time at a picturesque marina.
Board open-air tour buses or A/C Coach for a short transfer to the marina where your launch awaits to take you on a scenic cruise among the beautiful islands of this unique archipelago. View the southern shoreline of Tortola and the surrounding islands of Salt, Peter and Norman, made famous in legend as hideaways for pirates and buccaneers. Your journey takes you past uninhabited islands and the island of St. John, preserved for posterity by Laurence Rockefeller as a nature reserve, before arriving at Sopher's Hole, the first landing place by European settlers in these islands.
Enjoy a stroll along the board-walk and enjoy some time to browse in the colorful boutiques and souvenir shops before boarding open-air safari buses to continue your journey on land. Drive along the north shore of Tortola through small fishing villages before ascending to the ridge road, which twists its way along the top of the island offering spectacular views of Tortola and the surrounding islands. Snap a photo during a scenic stop before descending to Road Town, the capital of the British Virgin Islands, and onto the cruise ship pier to conclude your tour.
Duration: 4-4.5 hours
I'm a bit concerned as DH gets everything sick and can't decide between this one or another one. Geez, I'm telling you, this girls' only excursion is sounding better and better.....anyone else game?
I thought some people actually brought their personal trainers on the cruise. When they got fed up with the trainer telling them to workout more, the trainer got stuffed into the dryer for a cycle or two.
Jon
This is a major thing in this goup... Has anyone warned them that they will need to bring a big stash of these on for us?
They changed how you book excursions? Uh oh, guess I better familiarize myself with the new website before my booking date comes up.
The people I have met on the DIS boards on my cruises have been the nicest people you could ever meet. I think we are very lucky to have this place to plan and share our lives togethr.
Just my thoughts...
Thats what we were looking at. Who did you go through? I was getting panicky thinking should we pay £130 and get ash insurance!
Nice jeans will be just fine.
Oh, I only travel in less than perfect knickers, and they aren't that bad I can assure you. I decided if I had an accident then the state of my undies will be my least concern!!! Other than that, at my age my packed ones can be a bit embarrassing even if new!!!! To be honest I would be more embarrassed if they consisted of thongs nowadays.
So true!
You are so funny! I'm sure the people see all kinds of things in suitcases and my knickers (or yours) are really not that interesting to them, I'm just silly. I must admit I do wear thongs, my husband calls them 'eyepatches', does that make them suitable for Pirates night?
You CRACK me up (in a good way)
What???? Now I want to know what you deleted!!!
Ok, Hard Rock Cafe. Anywhere else? McD's if desperate I guess.
I am at that same age, Marilyn. Makes no difference old or new with granny panties!
I go and leave my laundry, but will be back before it finishes. I would hate to be in a cabin accross or next door in case there is much loud chat and noise.
On our PC cruise someone in the next cabin told me someone had trainers drying one night. Bang, bang, bang...........!!!!!
Just popping in to say hello - I`ve been away, taking my elderly Dad to visit relatives. I`m not even going to try to catch up.
Everything is very very stressful here. DD gets her uni results next week and needs at least a 2:2 to continue with her career choice.
Our local school and DD`s old school had a terrible tradegy last week - a bus crash killing two and badly injuring nine others. Today not far from here there have been random shootings - twelve killed and 25 injured. Even though we have not been directly affected (not that we know of) everything is too close to home.
DD and I are going on the Baltic cruise next week - thankfully for us, that is easy to do. Anyway we can`t book for Palo`s when we should for the WBTA as we will be on the cruise! I won`t be lining up to use the internet that`s for sure.

I just finalized my Fish Extender gifts. I will give two goodie bags per cabin in my group (one early on in the cruise and one on Pirate Night, but that is entirely my choice). Both goodie bags will be a mix of stuff that I made and things I bought. I have found in the past that the most time consuming part was labeling the gift so that people know who it is from. This time I am lazy. I had cards printed with my real name, DISBoards name and my email address which I will add to the gift. That way people know who it is from and if they want to keep in touch after the cruise, they have my email address as well.

We did that excursion last September, though it was the other way round as it happened. I think 2 groups must have set off at once, one going by boat and one by bus, changing in the middle of the trip. Anyway it was a really good trip and you got to see just about all the island. It is very hilly and beautiful with great viewing spots. We all enjoyed the boat trip. It wasn't rough for us at all. All the tour guides etc were great and friendly and they made a wonderful fruit punch, either alcoholic on non alcoholic.
We had friends who went to Virgin Gorda and really enjoyed that. I believe there is a bit of steep walking to the baths so anyone with walking problems who is thinking about that needs to read up a little.
There are a couple of changes in your group - I will post a new list tomorrow - just wanted you all to know!!
You can send him my way for the weekend.. it should be aorund 110
I just finished cleaning the pool around 9pm to get some of the heat off.
And tomorrow... working on my cruise tan.
Ann
I think we should ask if they have them onboard at embarkation, and if not all lie down and have a terrible two's paddy on the floor until they get them!!
There is nothing wrong with a good pair of "bridgets"
We backed onto the laundry on our last cruise and you could hear the machines beeping through the walls.
I agree .... DIS family certainly keeps you sane
I'm off for a day or so now, as I'm taking dd back to her Uni house in Bristol. She starts her summer job tomorrow and I'm crossing everything I have that she's ok living on her own again. Most of her housemates will be away on a field trip so I am very anxious about her being alone, though she seems much better. I'm staying overnight anyway, and will probably 'pop' back a couple of times over the next few weeks (it's a 200 mile round trip...)
Have fun and don't work too hard!
