Good morning

Good morning, DDA!

Jen - I'm glad you had a nice night last night. Good luck moving forwards!

Elizabeth - Happy packing day!

Yesterday, Terra and I spent a nice day just hanging out. We also took Rachel to a small Titanic exhibit that was set up in the mall parking lot. It's a travelling exhibit and a little small, but free so totally worth it! ;) There was just enough variety and good information given that made it nice. Unfortunately, it got to be a little much for Terra when it really sank in (no pun intended) that this was a real event. There was a computer animation from Discovery Channel about the actual sinking and that had her almost in tears. She still says she liked seeing it though.

Today - NOTHING! Woohoo! Love those days. Rachel is leaving around noon for a week in Panama City, FL with the church choir. Connor and Chase will be over during rest time while Kristi takes Kassie to a party and otherwise, that's it! I do think we'll hit the new local farmer's market though in a little bit. Soak in the BEAUTIFUL weather we have this morning and enjoy the yummy produce.

Here's a topic for us to debate today:

Is it acceptable to decorate the OUTSIDE of your room door at AKL with all sorts of little homemade decorations? And if so, is it OK to use Scotch tape?

NO, I am NOT thinking of doing this. It's a thread on the Resorts board. :rolleyes1

There mickey heads that my daughter made with quotations done very tastefully. And I was seeking advice as to how to affix them. I would love to hear feedback. I'm also thinking of handing them out to castmembers instead if it's not permissable at the resort. Just looking for ideas. You seem to have taken offense to this idea Jack.

My carry-on is packed, and I am making progress on the Shoe Bag. Still not sure if I can get by with just 4 checked bags or not.

The girl didn't cut DS's hair quite short enough in the front. 4 weeks from now (at the end of the trip) it will probably look kind of ragged. Guess we'll see.

We got the DS for DS. It is charging. He is excited!

We don't stay at AKL, but we've made door decorations and laminated them and taped them to our door at Pop. There were lots of other DISers there during our time frame and it was a way to find each other. We even had a wipe of board to leave messages. I don't see anything wrong with it.

o no elizabeth--i have 12 days to go til the cruise..i think im missing my packing days!

Where are you cruising to again? We're still trying to throw together a caribbean vacation. We have no idea whenn our passports will arrive so a cruise might be our only option.

DS can always get a trim at the barbershop in the MK. That is a must do for my boys each trip.

My kids are saving up for the new DSI. It is the next generation DS.

Deb - The doors at Pop open to the outside, so putting tape on them won't hurt them because they are weather-proofed. The doors at AKL are interior doors (wooden). In all of our stays at AKL we have NEVER seen anybody decorate their door. I certainly hope it stays that way!

We looked at the DSi but I don't think DS needs all the bells and whistles. His plain Game Boy has lasted FOREVER, so I think he'll be cool with the plain DS Lite.

Well, after two days of Mom and I both trying to find out whether anyone would be here for dinner tomorrow (Erin's in laws are in town), today Erin calls Dad. Apparently, they will all be here, 8 of them total. Now I've got to figure out what to make and go get the stuff to make it. So, what can I make that won't break the bank for 19 people? We could grill, but our grill isn't very large so we would have to do it in rounds. I was thinking maybe lasagna, but was trying to remember if that was their last visit I made it. Of course, since they only come once a year, maybe that doesn't matter. Does anyone have any ideas?

Mom already asked when she called, "Did they say if they were bringing anything?" And the answer is of course no and will be no unless Mom calls them and tells them what to bring. I can't get them to help clean up after I fix a meal for everyone, why would they offer to bring anything. Okay, grumpy self is going back in the closet. I have hope that someday she will change, but until then I'll just do this...:sad2:

Tia, I am sorry they are so inconsiderate! I am no help with meal ideas, but I hope it is less stressful than it sounds!

Thanks, Elizabeth! I'm used to somewhat bigger numbers and Mom will help. It's just the timing for figuring it out, plus it used to be easier when I wasn't always at church the morning of. Now, I planned to be there, but that makes it harder.

.

When we stayed at the Poly for Christmas we used the removable hooks. They come in different sizes & work very well. Much better than tape.

Good morning guys-
I was so tiredl ast night that i posted and went right to sleep. It actually went well for a first date. We walked around this huge mall that is between both of our houses..We went to dinner at Ruby Tuesday and sat there chatting and eating til 10, when the mall closed..he walked me to my car and we chatted for another 15 minutes or so...So for a first date, it went well..wasnt really awkward so im happy!
I am so glad. I as thinking about you last night.:cool1:

What color are you painting, Anne Marie?

We are heading to Movies Under the Moon. They are showing Indy and the Crystal Skull. We haven't seen it yet.

Good evening, DDA! :)

Busy here but didn't want you all to think I was neglecting you. :goodvibes

So, Jen, are you packed yet?

My Shoe Bag is about half finished. I do think we will make it on 4 checked bags. I keep trying to talk myself into an Owners Locker but paying the bag fee is actually cheaper if we are only going to WDW once or twice a year. And not everything in the bag is stuff I could leave in a Locker, so the Locker wouldn't eliminate the 4th bag.

It's like the DDP. I KNOW it doesn't make sense for us, but I keep looking at it anyway. :rotfl:
