You and me both!!!

The FLN network currently has a show on that I've never seen. Great Family Getaways: Orlando - Well-known attractions like Walt Disney World, SeaWorld and Universal Studios help make Orlando a popular destination for family vacations. I just turned it on and hope that I didn't miss any of the Disney World segments. I need a fix since the Disney Store was closed.
We don't have that channel, but I am TRYING to remember to watch Travel Channel tonight!
I picked up my laptop. But we can't do anything with it until we get that router! It does fit nicely in my bag.
Robyn - Does Eric know how to tell if a wireless network is secure? The Geek Squad guy was telling me if the network is open then any of our neighbors or whoever can use our network, and that leaves us vulnerable to hacking. He said the wireless routers on the shelf have all of the security features disabled. They will (for the BARGAIN price of $170) come to our house and make sure our network is secure. I am betting Uncle1 can already do that, but I was wondering HOW on determines if the network is secure?
For it to be secure, you need to enter a code to use it (you set the router up with the code so you know what it is). Some of them allow you to set the code once and you don't have to reenter it. Some you have to enter the code every time you connect. I'm sure Uncle1 should be able to make sure it is set up properly. If you just can connect to it the first time without any code, it isn't secure!
Hi, all! Thanks for being so excited about my trip. Other than dh, the credit card company, and the airlines, you are the only ones that know about it. I can barely contain myself!
I want to think of a way to surprise the kids with it. I know that Laura will need to know in advance, and I'd like her input on a few things. I may keep Miles in the dark until we are ready to leave, though. Any recommedations?
I was all set to go with Pop, since just about everyone who had a preference said Pop. Then I saw that Bernadette would be at ASMusic for very similar dates. (I hadn't been paying attention to anyone's dates, because I never thought I would be going this year.) Now, I'm still deciding between the two. I am also doing the spreadsheets of fun as to whether to have the dining plan or not. I am leaning towards not, because the two that are going with me aren't interested in doing TS every night or going to signature restaurants. I want to see how much we'll be spending on the TS we do plan to do, though, to see.
I'm thinking sticky thoughts, Glynis!
Jennifer, what are your three new Webkinz, and what is the Hallmark deal that allows you to get them free?
I have to start some laundry, but I'll try to be back before ds gets home.
Speaking of Cape May, did you say that is the 14th? What time? Are you doing a big reservation or just all getting individual reservations for the same time? I guess I should see if I can get us in when you are going to be there. I think Laura will survive.
The bank called today to tell us that they have received our appraisal. Everything is in order to close, but we still haven't locked in on a rate yet. The rates keep fluctuating and are currently at 6% I plan to keep watching for a while, but we would like to have this all wrapped up before our trip. That gives us 8 weeks. The appraisal came in about $40000 less than we are taxed on. Once I get a copy of the appraisal at closing I will be heading to the tax assessors office to have that corrected. That should save some more money I'm not at all disappointed as we have no plans to sell EVER.
That's where the struggle is. I would be so upset if my dd ever thought of meeting a bunch of strangers that she was talking to on the internet (even in a public place). But I just "know" that you are all ok. But I can't describe that to dd.
I was going to wait until I caught up, but I'll fill y'all in now.
The ultrasound went really well. We definitely have one little peanut. We got a very clear picture of the heart just beating away, and were even able to hear it! That relaxed me so much! Also makes it much more real!!! The tech checked for a long time to make sure there were no other surprises tucked away in there and there are not! WooHoo!!! Much as I love my twins, I think another multiple pregnancy would have wiped the floor with me! They did spot a cyst on one of my ovaries, but they don't think that will cause any problems.
The lining of my uterus looks good, but I'll stay on the supplement until about 14 weeks, just to make sure. Other than that, all looks well!!! No visible problems at this point.
We weren't going to talk to the doctor today, unless there was a problem, but as we were leaving, the nurse asked if she could talk to us. She just wanted to make sure all our questions were answered and to reassure us that just because I'm 41 that doesn't necessarily mean I'm going to have problems, especially considering that my health is the best it's been in years.
So, I'm feeling a lot better about things, and very excited now!

Thanks, Vicki! The whole thing is so unfamiliar to me - I don't understand. I know there is a code on the bottom of the router that you are supposed to type into each machine you want "networked" but I don't get how if the network is "open" you can prevent other people from accessing it. The machines in my house will have the code entered, but how do you know that access is blocked for other users? Does that make sense? I e-mailed Uncle1 to ask him about it. I imagine the Geek Squad guy was trying to scare me (and it worked) but I was already kind of worried about it.
Maybe she keeps the shorts in the bags???How big is your place? You have 30 pairs of shorts, plus all these bags. Where do you store it all?
I'm very sorry Vicki. They will be in my prayers. Please say prayers for Chuck's SIL Jean and her family. Jean's mother has passed away. Jean is about 10 years older than me and she had an older mother so it was not unexpected due to her age. However, the loss of your mother is never easy!
Capital Hill is quite a walk from the downtown attractions, so depending on where the Marriot is, I would probably suggest it over the Courtyard.Tammi and Elin - I'm looking at the Courtyard Washington Capital Hill/Navy Yard or the Washington Marriott. Any suggestions between the two?
Elin -- thank you so much for the advice about Napa Rose. It was fabulous! I met a friend from a Disney cruise two years ago (we still keep up on our cruise thread) for dinner one night, and it was fabulous. So good, in fact, that I went back the next night by myself and sat at the Chef's table. A really fabulous treat!
Have a good day everyone!
My van passed the emission inspection today. The best thing is that I did not have to spend a dime. The man at the service station reset the the code for the "check engine" light and that seems to have done the trick.
Good morning, DDA! I am so glad it's Friday!!!!!
Glynis - lots and lots of sticky thoughts for you today!
Janet - continued .
Tia - I was so sorry to hear about Phil - I'm sure both of you just have to be exhausted. I hope these meds do the trick for him, and he can get a proper diagnosis soon!
Tammi - yay for your van! for no rain. Nicholas cracks me up.
Becky - good luck with everything you have going on this weekend!
Robyn - the menu sounds delicious. You need to fill me in on the stawberry/pretzel salad - it sounds very interesting, and I'm wondering if it's what I had at a bridal luncheon last weekend. Is it more like a dessert?
Jen - good luck on your test!
Bernadette - good luck on those button holes. Any type of sewing (buttons included) intimidates the heck out of me! Who knows, after getting yourself and your luggage to the airport in the morning, you might want a drink. Bloody Mary, maybe? SW Airlines sends you a packet of "free drink" coupons when you get an award ticket. I use them occasionally, but had a ton in my briefcase. I found the way to get rid of them - be on an evening flight with 6 of my attorneys - GONE!!!
Elizabeth - continued prayers for your mom's test results. I got a thing in the mail the other day about the Tut exhibit, too. I contemplated doing the membership thing, but decided against it when Jonathan didn't act too interested in the idea.
Marci - glad to hear you had a good CA trip! That Chef's Table at the Napa Rose sounds yummy! Lots of prayers for Andrew's tournament this weekend!
Denise - looking forward to hearing how the big "reveal" goes - not long now!!!!
