i love the way you think

Aw, geez, does this mean I have to go out and buy Mike skirts and dresses now? That could seriously cut into my $60K profit.....

Hey, all, a slight favor please. When the thread gets near or at the 250 page, it needs to be locked. So if it gets close to that, let Mac know so she can start up a new thread with the new link. Then if someone would send me a PM so I can lock the old thread, I would appreciate it. I'm not always paying as close attention as I should on this thread. I figure it's a free-for-all anyway here. ;)

After typing this, it reminded me of the old Andy Griffith show where Otis, the town drunk, just locks himself up at night in the jail. :)

there's a place in downtown chicago where you can earn lots free money for just lying around.
it's located by the second street light on the corner by the train.....

If it is anything like the street corners in Atlanta, the prettiest ones are male. :confused3

Mac already warned us that we needed to start packing. We've been making a wish list for our new home for a couple of days.

Otis was one of my favorites. And the little boy that always offered his sandwich.

be sure to have a brown paper lunch bag with you when you do.
it will keep you from fainting......

Mac - look 3 posts above yours in the thread! I was already over there! :rotfl:

Jennifer gave me the info on it earlier this morning - thanks Jennifer!

Sorry guys - I'm not staying with, let alone ketching up! I owe SO many people emails that I was trying to get a jump on those today. So far I've accomplished part of one.

Off to church in a few minutes here. Eric's playing again.

Oh, wait, I almost forgot to give you guys my "good" news. I was selected for jury duty! Joy!

I don't mind doing it, but of course (like everyone else) the logistics leave something to be desired. I have to try to find someone to get Eric from the high school to the middle school at 9:15 each morning, and the kicker - get time off from work.

Do you think it's unreasonable to ask for the time off and not have to make it up? I don't expect to be paid, but I just can't make up any more hours. Is this unreasonable? I'm assuming there's some law that they have to give you time off for jury duty? You all know how reasonable and understanding my boss is! Hence the reason for my concern!

I am going to call my doctor first thing on Monday and see if he'll write me a note. I know I won't get excused, but really, I doubt that there's any way I could follow the entire trial with my hearing. I did write that on the pre-questionnaire. Basically that I'd probably need a written transcript in order to hear everything that was said. Hoping if nothing else that this will discourage them from putting me on an actual jury. Guess we'll see how it plays out! Sigh!

Jennifer, I thought of you ... guess what I just got in the mail? A free in-home tryout Certificate for Tempur Pedic. Too late for us :lmao: .

You should get one with your nighttime renewal kit.

You can have any Tempur-Pedic bed (any size/any style) delivered to your home and set up in your bedroom for 3 months with no obligation to buy. Sounds like you have to pay up front though, but if you aren't completely satisfied, they'll refund you the full cost plus pick up the bed at their expense. They'll even remove your old bedding free of charge, if you want.

Jodie - I think this was the offer we got when I called the number from the infomercial. They kept sending us stuff about every 90 days. We did get a square of the "foam".

Ok - all caught up with you yakkers.

Marcie - I think your boss has to give you the time off for jury duty, but is not required to pay you.

The weather is questionable at this point. We have snow squalls for about an hour and then the sun comes out. So far tonight, it has been windy and we probably have an inch on the roads. We are heading out to see Hairspray anyway.

Heading over to the CB to read THAT board (not Marice's insurance).

:) Jennifer

P.S. I really did not want to move during tax season, but I guess my roommates talk too much. If I get lost in all the paperwork, someone come find me.;)

It is pooring rain here. With all the roof collapses the last two weeks, now it is the flooding of rivers, streams and snow embankments onto roads that is the problem. We are in a fairly new developement with good drainage. We always blow the snow off the manhole/drain area near the mailbox. most folks do.

Sharon, how are your roads?

Pot Hole Hell. :headache:

In the winter I drive a 3/4 ton truck with heavy duty suspension for the plow. Which means that every pothole I hit, its all I can do to keep the damn truck on the road. I think I have a permanently flat skull from my head banging the headliner....

Remind me again Penny, how many days until spring?

The road in front of my house is going to be rebuilt this summer. They are going to install a bike lane on one side, widen the two bridges over the brooks and cut down a few hills that have bad visibility.

Some of my neighbors are not too happy. We all lost frontage by eminant domain. Luckily, my house is set back from the road (driveway is 1600 ft long) but the folks whose homes sit right close to the road are not so lucky.

never order steak from a sea food joint.
5 rum and cokes...........i'd be under the table if i had that much rum....

I was not feeling any pain that's for sure. I had to clean up my act pretty quick thou.

Got a call from DS that he was bringing his new girlfriend over to watch a movie. Couldn't very well be stumbling around when I met her! Luckily they headed down cellar pretty quickly and I only had to check up on them a few times.

Ok, about time I posted some of the pictures from Robotics weekend.

DH and I left Thursday afternoon. (The kids all went Thurs morning.) It's about a 2 hour trip. The weather and driving was great and we were checked into the Radisson in no time. One of the nights was free as I redeemed reward points! They even upgraded us to an executive suite. :cool1:

A little background on the robotics comp. There are teams in every state and around the world. There are regional competitions and than the championship is held in Atlanta later in the Spring. Each team has 6 weeks to build a robot with the supplied kit of parts and can add on as their budget allows. The kids have to learn how to fundraise, manage the budget, market their team, learn about wiring, pnuematics, machining, programming etc. It costs 6K just to enter the comp. They have to raise money to pay for the hotel rooms, food, transportation etc.

As you can see, the teams all have a theme:

This team is from a deaf school.

The event is held in a civic center. 1/2 of the center is a pit area for the teams and the other half is the playing field.

Bottom right corner...center box...(box with quotation mark in it) click that, makes it red. Once you hit 'reply', every box you clicked on with the quotation mark will come up in your reply box. Just take out what you don't need/want and make sure you include the brackets around the words: quote and /quote.

it works!

Janet just lives on the other side of the state from me...and I met her for the first time in FL...at Mville

Going to be an exhausting weekend for YOU huh?? Just be VERY careful driving at night.... go granny slow Sorry to hear the eye doctor appt. didn't go well... ...just have fun this weekend and forget about it till Monday!

i know.... :sad2:

 wanna trade?

yep, i've never been further east on the turnpike than harrisburg exit:confused3 always cut down south @ breezewood

actually, we slid down the hill sideways...sheet of ice; after dropping the 'lil darlings off @ the mall (different route than we took to get there)...DH is going to go the long way later & drop off the whole gang (thankfully @ another kids' house) for a sleepover...the other parents were thilled my "pro" did the driving lol. he's not exactly thrilled was up @ 6 am for work & isn't expected to get summoned for taxi duty until 1 am....worst thing, no beer:rolleyes1

ps naw, i gave up that hectic lifestyle years ago lol

ps - have decided, WTH...going with the flow & not going to stress about it.

Anyway, Brab and Alison, I wound up buying tanning lotions on EBAY Express. Wow, I could not believe how much cheaper they were than at the salon. I got an Australian Gold, Dream On (I've used that before) for about $10. Most of the online places wanted $25-33, and it's about $45 in my salon. Bonus. :thumbsup2

never thought of buying it on ebay! feeling better from the shot, we tend to not get one until we wind up in the ER for whatever needs stitching;)

I'm really not sure what this guy is doing.

he's got talent!:lmao:

Or maybe you'd prefer dancing on the ceiling?

lionel ritchie or spidey? have never see this one before-:cool1:

Till later y'all.....
bobshakinnanner.gif
that's what i see in the am when i look in the mirror:rotfl:

Aw, geez, does this mean I have to go out and buy Mike skirts and dresses now? That could seriously cut into my $60K profit.....

i defer to jennifer on tax advice...yet, think you could write off the clothing as a work expense:lmao: subject to withholding

mac - thanx for the info, maybe different drops turn eyes different colors...maybe i'll get cool ones like Michael Jackson in Thriller:idea: ha. I don't see much point in getting the laser if i have to use the drops too:confused3 . Making sure i take my negotiator (DH) with me for next appt to take notes.

Sharon - sounds like you have a great night, funny about making a quick entrance/exit with DS & friend.
