...i am wondering, how many here, this will be their first cruise?

[it seem like yesterday, 99...our only objective was to get on
the ship. plans? we had none. however, there were alot things
we did by accident, that still make it one of our favorite--our
movie camera? was left on our kitchen table. our 35 mm camera
was stolen at magic kingdom. so i had to borrow one from a cm
on the cruise. jordan live in the mickey pool...my wife parents
informed us before the cruise.."we don't want get stuck baby
sitting". at the end, they were begging us, jordan has this knack
of drawing alot attentions. we have the first disney videos from
that year...the snow white in them , was on the wonder..,
she just  taking care of jordan. pics were outrageous..$5!
:lmao: ..i remember exploring the ship, and how impressive it was.
( esp. having the frame art works) .while we met alot of freinds,
the only person we have kept in touch is..bj, she was on our
last magic cruise....to me, i think , my first cruise will always be
the the cruise of a life time. it was a family reunion , something,
we haven't done since.

* andy, i don't mean top be intrusive, but because of this being
such a diffcult cruise to have a room, i would wait until final
payment..just in case you change your mind/s,

Last repo in 2005, I remember at the sailaway party, Our cruise director, Rachel, she said:-

' 'Where our my 1750 Casterway Club members??'' over 75% of the ship.

The CC reception was help on Deck 9 taking up all of the goofy pool area.
Most likley more this time.

Happy Birthday Linda / 4theluvofpooh!!!

Peter

Good to hear from you - I was only thinking the other day that our paths had not crossed for a while. I'm sure you know that Wales beat England a few weeks ago :dance3:

We will be in WDW in August so would love to meet up with you during that time. We will be in CBR from 20-Aug to 3-Sept-07.

Best wishes

David

David that sounds great. I'd like to set a date soon so that we can plan our trips around. I was thinking sometime around the weekend of the 24/25 so that the locals can stop by as well. We can set it up by the DVC quiet pool at the WL.

I'd like to see if we can encompass as many DISers as posssible before we set a date.

Hope to see you in August.

Go Wales!

Hi Peter,

I'm going to put those dates down on my calendar. That's about the time we usually go to Florida, the last summer fling before the school year starts. We also have to find out when Angelina will be having her Senior pictures taken. I think Hazel said it is scheduled for sometime in August, but I'm not sure of the dates. I haven't been in the Wilderness Lodge as of yet, so this would be a good excuse to pay a visit!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

It would be really great if we can see you all again this August. Me and Johnna also would like to see you still post on the thread even though you decided not to go on the cruise. I hope you don't cancel your reservation until the last min. just incase you change your mind.:)

As we get closer to August let us know what dates would be good for you for the mini-meet.

I love the Wilderness Lodge, one of my favorites.

Sounds good to us - as I type Helen is busy writing the date etc in our planner - as well as my wife she's also my social secretary - but please don't tell her I said;)

Afternoon Folks.

I took Hazel and Angelina out for brunch this morning at Old Country Buffet before taking Angelina to work. While we were eating we had a family meeting discussing quite a few topics. I also wanted to get Angelina's and Hazel's true feelings about the TOAL. Angelina then said, "Funny, you should bring that topic up dad, because I wanted to talk about that." We talked for quite a while, then put the TOAL up for a vote. I'm sad to say that the TOAL vote was 3-0 in favor to cancel. Yes, even me, who wanted to do this more than Hazel and Angelina combined, voted it down. I don't know what else to say, but that I am sorry we won't have the chance to sail with you, on TOAL. :sad1:

:sad1: It won't be the same without you, but I respect your decision to do what is best for your family. :grouphug:

You will be missed, but I'm sure there will be other opportunities for this or a similar trip (can't see this being last trip to West Coast).

Hello Everyone!

Sorry for the long abscence, working alot as we are short a few people (maternity leave) as well as many personal events.

Youngest DD made her first communion 2 weeks ago and this Saturday we have a formal party for her.

Andy! I'm so sorry Johnna told me that you won't be able to make the cruise. It's so sad. We here in NY were so looking forward to having a good time with you and your family. I'm still looking forward to putting together a small meet this August.

On that note: I need to get a list of DISers that would be interested in participating in a mini-meet this August. We will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge Villas and are very much looking forward to hosting another get together. Us and Jack will be there from the 19-30 of August.

I know Arlene has been keeping track of Vactioners that will be in the area at that time.

I miss all of you. Will try to post regularly. I even heard that BIP is BACK!

Talk to you all soon!

 Hi Pete & Johanna! Good to have you back!

Went to the funeral palor on Saturday and spent most of the day getting that done. On the phone most of today calling the two pension companies and social security, everybody is so busy and getting through the answering machines. Getting a final bill from the nursing home. Gathering clothes for him to wear. Thank God I forced him to buy a headstone, plot and prepaid funeral. Oh well, such is life.

My sister will be allowed out of the hospital for the funeral. Bought flowers on Saturday and the woman who owns the shop looked at me an said you don't know who I am do you? I said no. It turns out she's a 1st cousin. Both sides of my family are very disfunctional. My father had five sisters, who I haven't seen in 50 years, they are all dead but the youngest, Laura who called me last night. It turns out I have 22 1st cousins.

That's one of the reasons I take my family on vacations every year, I want to make sure that have a great sense of family. Carrying grudges from childhood is such a waste of time.:sad2:

Just back from the 4/28 Eastern. Had a little rain and mildly choppy seas this trip -- but all in all it was a great trip. I slept through docking in St. Maarten and since we have an inside room didn't see the island until coming out onto deck 9. With mountains on both sides of the ship it was quite a sight. The day started a little rainy but cleared by the afternoon. St. Thomas weather was great and the best day ever at Cataway Cay. The best pictures there, J (now 4) and C (almost 2) sitting on the raft with the biggest grins on their faces. Unfortunately the little ones will not be joining us on the repo. Our oldest daughter is a middle school teacher and can't get off the first week of school. The youngest is going with us -- we hope. She is in graduate school now and in the final stage of her PhD, we hope she will be done and hope that where ever she is teaching will not start before Labor Day. Some universities start early and some after. We won't know if it will be two or three of us going until close to the deadline.

Now that this last trip is over the countdown for the next can begin. I won't mention the number of days because right now it seems like forever. But when I think of how much I have to save to pay for it, the time somehow seems shorter.

Since we were at Disneyland last August we though we would pass on staying there before this one. Has anyone ever stayed at the Port. Do you have any recommendations? I was hoping to rent a car at LAX for the day and drive to the port and stay there but I seem to remember that someone mentioned that it wasn't convenient to return rentals in the Port area . Since I lived in Manhattan Beach way back in the olden days (the late 60's) I though it would be nice to drive down and see how things have changed. I hope you can give me some advice.

I was sorry to read that Verandah Man is not going to be joining us. I was looking forward to meeting him. We moved to Floriday three years ago from Gloucester County, NJ. Both our girls graduated from Rowan University there. In fact our youngest would like to join the faculty there when she finishes graduate school.

Before I get any further into the planning, I better start the laundry.

Thanks for any advice you can give me, Barbara

P.S. I was reading about a meeting in WDW in August. My DH is off on 8/25 and we'd love to meet everyone. We just stayed at Wilderness Lodge Villas before this last crusie and it was beautiful. Let us know what date you select and if he isn't off maybe he can switch.

I would offer the suggestion of taking a pocket sized notebook and get addresses/phone number of any of these relatives you may see. I come from a similar family (although one generation removed - my Grandfather's siblings hardly spoke) and I took my Mom to a Great Uncles funeral and were able to salvage some of the relations and make contacts with relatives I have never met and my Mom hadn't seen in years.

Max is too smart. On one had he's easy to train - on the other he's he's a challenge just because he is so intelligent. He's the 8th G. Shepherd of had and one of the smartest. I'm thinking of looking into search & rescue w/him. He needs to have a "job." He's got a great disposition and adores my 6 yr. old DGS. When Matt gets home from school the two of them are inseparable - I guess Matt is a "human puppy" to him - but he doesn't play rough - he's got Annie for that type of play!

I won't try skating or biking with either of them - the strand is too crowded - well maybe when they are older. However, w/dog parks they get lots of exercise.

The Strand? Are you in SD (Coronado)?

Banger's and Mash???? Haggis??????:rotfl2:

No, we are going to trash it with McDonalds!!!!!!popcorn:: :coffee:

And the smell in the stores will be the fresh smell just after rain, lots of rain!

McDonalds?!?!?! :scared1: I'm going to report you to HRM!!!!

But I can understand the sentiment...when DW and I spent a week down in Puerto Vallarta (to which she said "NEVER AGAIN!!!") there was a time when we just wanted something from "home"! So, we wound up going to Burger King! :lmao:

Speaking of traveling....the airline found DW's suitcase!!! :yay:

It seems the bag arrived shortly after she did ON ANOTHER AIRLINE!!!!! But since they didn't do the worldwide tracer until 3-4 days AFTER she arrived, they didn't find it until Sunday.
duh.gif
She departs Tuesday!

What's worse is that she had to spend some $300 or so to replace the clothes, toiletries etc because her bag was missing. Well now they are trying to say that they won't pay on that claim because they found her bag!

I do think the PHL baggage folks are about to have a

on their hands!

Even though I'm British I've made a point of wherever I go I ALWAYS sample a meal from McDonalds - don't know why, I just have.

My biggest shock ever was the breakfast in a McDs in USA though - syrup on sausages at breakfast time    .

On the subject of burgers, some years ago I managed to con Helen into trying a horse meat burger in France :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
I can still see her face when I told her what she had just eaten:lmao:

David
