Top of the World Lounge

Hello all-

We are making our first trip to Orlando since becoming DVC members. However, we actually aren't staying in a Disney resort this trip (long story). Anyhow, will we be allowed access to the Top of the World lounge if we show our membership card? I was reading that you needed to be staying at a Disney property in order to access the lounge, but I'm hoping we will still be able to get in.

Thanks!

According to the web site:
Enjoy access to one of the vacation kingdom's most exclusive spaces: Top of the World Lounge atop Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort. This access is granted to Disney Vacation Club Members staying at any Disney-owned-and-operated hotel at Walt Disney World Resort (whether they booked with Vacation Points or cash).

So, no, you would not be able to go up. I mean, you could try. But chances are, you will be turned away.

What if you are a first time resale buyer which bought resale after 4/4, are you allowed access even if you stay onsite?

Regards

You need to have your MB scanned and show your white member ID card.

Thanks for the answers. Now I don.t need to ask, lol.
I thought you had to be staying onsite, but this saved me from trying to find the info on the DVC website.

I'd ask if I happened to be that the contemporary for something else. They let us up when were staying at Shades of Green. It was late afternoon and only 2-3 other families were there so could be crowd dependent.

I will be staying at Disney Boardwalk in March for 4 nights and One night at the Poly in April. I am interested in going to the Top of the World Lounge so we can enjoy the fireworks one of these stays. I know I need to have my member card and ID but is there anything else I need to have with me to prove I'm staying on property? Do they just scan our magic bands or ask for paper confirmation? The March trip there will be ten of us staying. Is there a limit per membership or anyone just listed on the reservation? ( we have two rooms) I just want to make sure I have everything I need. Also, what is the best time to head up there? I would want to order some apps and drinks to enjoy during the viewing. Thanks!

If you have two rooms are members the lead on both reservations?

If the other room doesn't have a DVC member staying in the room (since it is a separate reservation), your friends/relatives might not be allowed up. In other words, you'd need a GV to get all ten of you up there.

I don't think this is correct, and I do not think the CMs will differentiate that way. As long as the Member is present with proper ID and all of his/her guests are staying on points or booked via MS, I doubt they would be denied entrance to TOTWL and Deck just because the Member needed two rooms to accommodate everyone. That assumes the date is not blocked and that capacity hasn't been reached.

If I were in that situation, I'd just take my guests and see what happens. IMO, odds are very good that all of us would be allowed up.

Probably true because they are selling drinks and food but I don't think that the rules say anything about taking all of the people booked with your points, it says something like people on your reservation. That's why I asked if members were primary in each room.
